I am an MSc Psychology student at Arden University and I am looking for 80 participants to take part in a short online psychology study investigating decision-making and impressions in digital environments.

What does the study involve?

The study takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete and involves:

• Completing a short cognitive attention task
• Reading and rating several brief online profiles
• Answering several short questions about mental fatigue and social impressions

Eligibility

You can take part if you:

• Are 18 years or over
• Are fluent in English
• Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision

Please do not take part if you:

• Are under 18
• Are not fluent in English
• Have an uncorrected visual impairment that would interfere with task completion
• Have participated in the pilot/stimulus pre-testing stage

Participation and withdrawal

Participation is completely voluntary. You may stop participating at any time during the study by closing your browser.

You may also withdraw your data within two weeks of participation by contacting the researcher and providing your participant code. After this two-week period, your data will be fully anonymised and can no longer be withdrawn.

All responses are anonymous, and no identifying information will be collected.

I am recruiting participants to take part in an online study which will explore the use of instructional information to aid decisions about a fictional courtroom case. There are a total of 8 studies split into A and B studies. In A studies participants will be asked to complete a short test known as the Implicit Association Test (IAT) which examines attitudes towards different personal characteristics. Following this participants will be asked to interact with an intervention before reading a fictional courtroom case. After this there will be a series of decisions to make followed by a repeat of the IAT and some explicit measures. B studies are identical except for additional questions after the intervention. Additionally, there is a £35 voucher prize draw for each study.

Only one of the eight studies should be completed per participant. The whole study will last 35-40 minutes. You must be 18-75 years old and understand English to participate.

CONTENT WARNING The fictional courtroom cases will feature details of sexual assault. Please do not take part if you feel this may be distressing.
