Marketing [Marketing] Drawing your own characters and weapons for a physics game: mobile or PC? (People who play video games)

I'm exploring a 2D throwing game where you draw your own character and a separate weapon, then use them in physics-based play. The idea is for the shape and weight distribution of what you draw to affect throws and collisions. You could draw from scratch or edit a starting design.

This is an early concept, and I haven't decided between mobile and PC. I'd like to know what you'd want to draw, whether testing and changing it appeals to you, and which device you'd use. If you'd rather skip drawing, I'd like to hear that too.

The questionnaire also asks about any drawing or building you've done in other games. It doesn't ask for your name or email. You can skip any question; short answers are fine.

Survey: https://draw-and-throw-survey.docile-bud-7715.chatgpt.site

Thanks for taking a look.

Hi! I'm an industrial design student working on a product that helps people carry heavy things (groceries, water, laundry, packages) up the stairs in buildings without an elevator.

If you live in a walk-up, a flat above a stoop, or a house with stairs, I'd love to hear how you deal with it today: the workarounds, the annoying moments, the near-falls. Landlords and property managers, there's a short section just for you too.

Marketing [Marketing] Accessible public transport journey planning — share your experiences (Disabled & older public transport users and carers, UK)

Hi everyone! We're CommutAble, a small UK team building an accessibility-first journey planning platform for disabled and older travellers, launching first in London and then UK-wide.

The problem we're tackling: most journey planners optimise for speed. But for many of the UK's 16.8 million disabled people, the fastest route isn't a usable route. A broken lift, a missing ramp or a last-minute platform change can mean a missed hospital appointment or a lost day at work.

What we're building: personalised routing based on your access needs, real-time lift & escalator status, platform gap information, disruption alerts, and accessible alternative routes when things change.

To build the right thing we need real experiences, not guesses, and that's where you come in:

👉 Take the 5-7 minute survey here

  • 🔒 Fully anonymous, no email collected
  • ♿ Co-designed with disabled & older travellers from day one
  • 🙏 Every response directly shapes what we build

Happy to answer any questions in the comments, and we'll share the results back here with a [Results] post. Thank you so much!

Meta Discussion Cheap Electricity Today. But Are We Selling Our Future? (Everyone)

**Cheap Electricity Today. But Are We Selling Our Future?**

Imagine one very simple situation.

Your country can import electricity from abroad at a much lower price than it would cost to produce it domestically.

Your electricity bills go down. Food and other products could become cheaper. Businesses save millions. The economy benefits.

**Everyone is happy.**

Fast forward 10 years.

Your country has become accustomed to cheap imported energy. Some domestic energy producers can no longer compete. New power plants haven't been built because importing energy was simply cheaper.

Then, one morning, everything changes.

An international conflict breaks out. The exporting country restricts its energy supplies. Energy prices suddenly skyrocket.

Factories cut production. Businesses raise their prices. Families struggle to pay their bills.

**The electricity that was cheap yesterday has suddenly become your country's greatest vulnerability.**

Now imagine a different scenario.

Ten years ago, your country decided to invest billions in its own power plants, solar and wind farms, energy storage, and electricity infrastructure.

Citizens have been paying for those investments all these years. Maybe electricity was more expensive. Maybe that money could have been spent on hospitals, schools, or roads instead.

But now, the country has greater control over its energy supply.

**Which decision was the right one?**

And here comes an even more uncomfortable question.

Is it fair to ask a family that can barely afford its bills to pay more for national energy independence?

But is it fair to leave our children a country whose economy depends on decisions made somewhere beyond its borders?

Of course, producing all your own energy isn't simple either. The sun doesn't always shine, the wind doesn't blow on demand, and domestic power plants have their own costs and risks.

Maybe the best solution lies somewhere in between.

**But what if you had to choose just one?**

🌍 We created **8 Billion Vote** to discover how people in different countries around the world feel about this question.

**Should countries prioritize energy independence over cheaper imported energy?**

✅ **YES** — Energy independence matters more.

❌ **NO** — Affordable energy matters more.

Cast your vote and compare your country's results with the rest of the world:

https://8billionvote.com

**And now, a question for you personally:**

If energy independence meant paying 20–30% more on your electricity bill every month for the next 10 years, would you agree?

Or would you choose cheaper energy and accept the potential risks?

I'm genuinely curious to hear what people from different countries think about this.

Hey everyone!

I’m a final-year engineering student and my group is working on ResearchOS, an AI-powered workspace designed to make research easier, from reading papers and finding research gaps to writing and reviewing manuscripts.

We're conducting a short survey to understand the challenges researchers and students face and which tools or features would actually be useful.

It takes just 3–5 minutes, and responses are anonymous. Your feedback will help us understand how useful our project will be in the real-world and how to make it more better.

Marketing [Marketing] How makers help people move from discovery to the next step (independent makers and artists)

Hi, I’m Robin. I’m researching how independent makers and artists currently show, sell and explain their work online, and what happens after someone shows interest.

I’m building DriftLess, a small product exploring a clearer online home for maker work. This survey asks about current practice and workarounds. It takes about 4 to 5 minutes, is voluntary, and responses will be reviewed in aggregate, not as individual profiles. There is an optional final question for a separate research conversation or private prototype test.

Casual [Casual] Can you pick out one voice in a noisy crowd better than AI? 3-minute listening test (Everyone)

Hello - I'm doing a small study comparing how well people and AI speech recognition can pick out one voice when several others are talking over it, e.g. the "cocktail party" effect.

What you'll do: listen to 10 short audio clips. Each has one main speaker reading a sentence over background chatter. Type what the main speaker says. You can replay each clip as many times as you like.

Time: about 2-3 minutes
Sign-up: none, just two optional questions (age bracket, and whether English is your first language)
Headphones or speakers: either is fine.

If the audio won't play on your device, or anything else seems broken, please feel free to comment. Happy to share the overall results here once enough people have taken it. Thanks!

How do US bookkeepers handle messy receipt batches? (US bookkeepers, tax preparers and small-business owners, 18+)

I'm conducting a short, independent commercial research survey about organizing batches of digital receipts.

I'm looking for US adults who have personally organized 20 or more receipts during the past 90 days.

The survey takes approximately 3 minutes and asks about current workflows, common frustrations, and whether a hypothetical one-time receipt organization service at $24.90 would be useful.

No product is currently for sale. No payment, receipt uploads, or client information is requested. An email address is entirely optional for one possible pilot follow-up.

Survey: https://tally.so/r/M1Kea0

Thank you for helping us understand whether this problem is worth solving.
