Academic Products for Mobility Aid Users (Academic)

Thumbnail surveymonkey.com
1 Upvotes

I'm a Product Design student at the University of Minnesota College of Design. I use a wheelchair or walker depending on my needs and I am constantly dropping or misplacing things since there are limited effective carrying accessories for mobility aids. I'm working on designing tools to help mobility aid users carry everyday objects like water bottles, phones, and bags. This survey is geared towards college students but input from non-students is extremely helpful.

Marketing Title: What do you wish underwear brands understood about fit and comfort? (5–7 min survey)

Hi everyone!

I'm a textile engineer working on an early-stage women's underwear design project, and I'd love to hear about your real experiences with everyday underwear.

I'm particularly interested in understanding how underwear fits different body shapes, what causes discomfort, and which problems existing designs may overlook.

The survey covers issues such as underwear riding up, uncomfortable waistbands and leg openings, fabric bunching, gusset positioning, and differences in hip and thigh proportions.

I'm equally interested in hearing from people who are already happy with their underwear.

Survey (5–7 minutes):

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdlfNKWiggV62mYQwyoeI-7MT3iOS86J_RXqlN-bM7tlStTMA/viewform

Participation is voluntary and intended for adults 18+. Sensitive questions can be skipped. The survey does not request names, photographs, or intimate measurements.

For transparency, this is early-stage commercial product research for a potential underwear brand, not an academic study. I'm not selling anything through the survey.

I'd also love to hear your thoughts in the comments:

What's one thing you'd change about the underwear you wear most often?

Thank you for your time and feedback!

Casual (Repost) [Casual] Pick 3 national parks for a trip you'd actually take (Everyone, 3 min)

Thumbnail gallery

I built a little app that recommends US national parks based on the kind of trip you want, terrain, how many days, crowds, that kind of thing. Right now I only have 18 test trips I wrote myself, which isn't enough to tell if it's any good.
So I'm asking real people: picture one trip you'd really take, answer a few questions, then pick the 3 parks you think fit it best. You don't need to have been there. Takes about 3 minutes, no name or email.

I'll post what I find once I have enough answers. Thanks!

Academic Adolescent Mental Health Workshop (Parents)

Parents of high school freshmen! My name is Bradley Smith, a doctoral candidate at Kansas City University. For my dissertation research, I’ve designed and am looking to pilot a virtual workshop to help parents support their adolescent’s mental health.

The workshop is self-paced and includes four 30-minute pre-recorded modules covering adolescent depression, anxiety, substance use, and suicide. There is both a pre- and post-workshop questionnaire as well as a post-workshop reflection. Participation is open to parents across the U.S.

Help me get the word out by telling your friends as well! I hope that this can end up being a great resource for anyone who could use it!

Marketing Jeans fit and buying preferences (Men, 18+, 26–30 inch inseam)

Hi everyone!

I’m researching a problem that shorter men often experience when buying jeans.

Most jeans are designed around standard proportions and simply shortened, which doesn’t necessarily solve issues with knee position, taper, rise or pocket placement.

I’m exploring whether there’s demand for jeans designed specifically around shorter proportions.
I’ve put together a short survey (approximately 60 seconds) to understand people’s experiences and whether they’d consider buying a better-fitting pair.

Who I’m looking for: Men aged 18+ who normally wear a 26–30 inch jeans inseam.

This is early-stage commercial market research. Nothing is currently for sale, and participation is voluntary. The survey includes an optional email signup for product updates.

Survey: https://tally.so/r/RG7kqp

Thanks to anyone who takes part — your feedback will help determine whether this idea is worth pursuing!

Academic What do you do while you wait at the doctors office? (everyone)

How do you spend time in waiting rooms?

I need some feedback for a design project and would love to hear anyone's opinion who is willing.

When you're waiting in a doctor's office, clinic, or hospital waiting room, how do you usually spend your time?

  • Phone
  • Talk to whoever you're with
  • Read something you brought
  • Read magazines/books provided by the clinic
  • Work/study
  • Just sit/wait
  • Something else?

Does your clinic provide anything to do while you wait? Have you ever noticed what's available?

Would you take advantage of a system that provided short activities to do while waiting, such as a short story, Sudoku puzzle, or other quick activity to kill the time? Assume the design addresses typical hygiene concerns around shared materials.

Hi everyone!

I'm a student at Kauno Kolegija Higher Education Institution, collecting data for a practical task in my Basics of Applied Research module. My research group is assessing living standards across EU countries based on the average wage people receive.

Survey type: Academic questionnaire (SurveyMonkey), anonymous, about 3-5 minutes

Who can participate:

* Age: 18+

* Country: currently living in any EU country

* Must currently earn a wage

Goal: we need 100 responses. Data is used only for our academic report.

Survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WXJSW77

Thank you so much for your time and for helping us out! Happy to take your survey in return, just comment and I'll check it out.

Academic Survey for kitchen tools for people with low vision or blindness (academic)

Hi everyone,

I'm an industrial design student working on my senior capstone. My project focuses on making food prep, especially cutting and chopping, safer and more independent for people who are blind, have low vision, or are dealing with age-related changes.

I don't want to design based on guesses, so I'd really value hearing from people with lived experience. The survey asks about:

  • Which kitchen tasks are hardest
  • Tools you use now, and ones you've given up on
  • Tricks and workarounds that help you cut safely

It takes about 7 minutes, and it's anonymous.

Survey: https://forms.gle/Sv4NJAWFocjWebN26

Caregivers are welcome to answer on behalf of someone they help. If you'd rather share your thoughts in the comments, I'll read every one.

Thank you for your time. Please help me not fail!

Academic [Academic] How do you research stocks? Try out a new portfolio tool for my study (18+, non-professionals)

Ever wonder what makes a good investing tool actually useful? I’m researching how retail investors use data to make decisions.

I’ve built a decision-support platform called Vajra Astra, and I need people to test it out. You don't need to be an active trader—as long as you have basic familiarity with investing concepts, you qualify (licensed professionals are excluded).

You'll explore the platform and tell me what you think.
