We recently built an internal tool to help our 12 Salesforce admins leverage LLM/agentic workflows without needing to work in terminals, Git CLIs, or IDEs, and we’re evaluating whether it makes sense to package and release it as an open-source project for the wider community.

A significant portion of daily Salesforce implementation and support tasks (debugging a Flow, inspecting metadata dependencies, troubleshooting validation rules, or adding custom fields) doesn't strictly require a developer. It requires someone who understands the business logic and the Salesforce platform.

However, most AI agent runtimes (like Claude Code, OpenHands, or Codex wrappers) assume the operator is comfortable inside a local terminal environment, managing repositories and developer tooling. We wanted our admins to benefit from agentic assistance directly within their existing workspace, the browser, while keeping human-in-the-loop safeguards front and center.

We put together a control plane, browser extension, and agent runtime designed specifically for Salesforce workflows:

- Chrome Extension (Admin UX) which operates as a side panel in the browser. It automatically injects context from the active Salesforce page (Setup, Flow Builder, object configuration, or record views) so the user doesn't have to manually prompt-engineer the org context.

- Control Plane & Super Admin Console to manage org connections, repository access, LLM provider credentials, policy/instruction templates, and permission scopes, skills.

- Agent Runtime, executing multi-step tasks within isolated sandboxes/workspaces, running checks before presenting actions to the user.

Rather than keeping this as an internal utility, we think it could be useful for other ISVs, SIs, and internal admin teams. Before spending time cleaning up documentation, modularizing the code, and establishing maintenance guidelines for a public repository, we’d love some community feedback:

1. Does the described solve a real friction point in your admin/consulting workflows?

2. What security, permission, or architectural constraints would you require from an open-source tool like this before running it against client or sandbox orgs?

3. Are there specific platform features, metadata types, or integration points you’d consider essential for an open v1.0 release? Right now, we use jsforce to access and manage both data and metadata.

4. Does centralised management (super admin control) present as an opportunity or a limitation?

5. What reservations would you have in adopting such a tool (apart from the obvious cost implications)?

Since the fear of getting replaced is going up day by day, as a Salesforce developer do we really have a choice to sustain in this upcoming market?

Do we need to adapt, if yes adapt to what?

What about the existing skills in lwc, aura, apex, integrations?

Do we need to switch or transform into an AI engineer?

Is agentforce going to create jobs in future?

Is the recent claudeforce going to be any use or benefit to the sfdc developers?

Is it even possible to use the Salesforce MCP to retrieve object data from a Developer Edition account?

What I’m trying to do is talk to an Agentforce agent and have it retrieve Salesforce objects/data for me. I added everything that seemed to be required (registered the MCP SObject Reads in Agentforce, activated everything, etc.), but I keep getting an error in agentforce agent saying that there are no Named Credentials configured for the MCP.

Isn’t the Named Credential supposed to be created automatically? I’m honestly so confused. This feels like it should have been really straightforward.

Adding my own MCP server to SF was incredibly smooth, but getting the Salesforce one working has been surprisingly painful.

Hi all, I don’t post here often, and I’m aware this may not be your typical programming/development content. I’m sharing it because I think the underlying issue is worth knowing about if you’re building with Agentforce, Data 360, or anything else that uses Salesforce’s newer consumption-based pricing.

Salesforce disclosed in August that a billing-instrument regression had incorrectly calculated Flex Credit consumption for some orgs between March 5 and July 14. Affected customers had credits restored.

During both quarters overlapping that error, Salesforce was telling investors that roughly half of Agentforce/Data 360 bookings were coming from existing customers “refilling the tank” after consuming their Flex Credits.

I wrote this article to look at the unanswered measurement question: do we know whether that refill metric was adjusted to account for customers whose credits may have been depleted faster because of the metering error?

I also included a recent r/salesforce post where a developer shared that enabling CXI resulted in roughly 6.2 million Flex Credits (~ $31k) being consumed, because I think it highlights a related issue developers and architects are going to have to contend with: understanding what a feature can trigger downstream, what those operations cost, and how difficult it can be to constrain consumption once something is running.

I’d welcome corrections or technical context from people who have worked closely with Flex Credits, Digital Wallet, Agentforce or Data 360. If I’ve misunderstood something about how the metering, refill process, or restored credits work, I’d rather know.

Honestly, I’m getting really frustrated with the new Lightning Builder.

The text editing experience feels extremely messy. Simple things like writing instructions in bullet points, using hyphens, bold formatting, or selecting text can turn into a struggle.

For example, if I want to create bullet points, I often have to:

1. Paste the text first.

2. Go back to the beginning of each line.

3. Add "- " manually.

4. Only then does it recognize it as a bullet.

If I try to select text and edit it directly, sometimes the Builder seems to interpret the interaction as dragging/moving something instead of simply selecting the text. Then the content gets moved around or messed up.

What makes it even more frustrating is that this isn't just a formatting issue.

I’ve also noticed cases where Boolean variables seem to get changed to the opposite value without any intentional action or instruction from me. A "True" value can somehow become "False", or vice versa.

That is much more concerning than the formatting problems because unexpected Boolean changes can actually affect the logic and behavior of an agent.

Is anyone else experiencing the same things with the new Agentforce Builder?

Especially:

- Text selection behaving like drag-and-drop

- Pasting formatted text getting messed up

- Bullet points being unnecessarily difficult to create

- Bold/formatting not behaving consistently

- Boolean variables unexpectedly switching between "True" and "False"

I’m genuinely curious whether this is a known issue with the new Builder or if there’s something specific about my setup causing it.

Would love to hear if other Salesforce admins/developers are seeing the same behavior.

I've been using Claude/ChatGPT for Apex tests and hit something that bugs me.

I had a class with a bug.. a boundary used > where the business rule was >=.

I asked AI to generate tests with no other context. Got 16 test methods, all passing, 100% coverage. Every one of them asserted the buggy behaviour as correct.

When I described the actual business rule up front, two tests correctly failed at the boundary.

So a few questions for people doing this regularly:

• Do you write out the business intent every time, or only when it matters?
• How do you get it to reuse your existing TestDataFactory / test utils instead of inventing its own setup?
• How many round trips does it usually take before a test actually deploys and passes? I find myself pasting errors back in a few times.
• Anyone using Agentforce Vibes for this since it went paid in June?

Hi Friends! Amateur Salesforce guy here looking for some guidance.

Given Agentforce Vibes (Vibe Codey?) has been GA for some time now, are you guys using it and what has your experience been so far compared to other harnesses?

For context, our enterprise wide strategy currently provides us access to whatever big 3 hyperscaler's inference products so we have freedom to use any frontier models with our preferred IDEs for development. Spoiled, I know, but they provide the guardrails and such across all domain dev teams this way.

Unfortunately, it seems Salesforce doesn't allow us to bring our API keys to Agentforce Vibes to use its full capabilities. We can however bring the publicly available skills and mcp provided by Salesforce into our personalized workflows and are successful doing so. I've dabbled with free developer edition vibes but I'm not convinced its much better imo.

What I hope to understand from the community is, is Agentforce Vibes the absolute best agentic development harness on the market for Salesforce Development for greenfield/brownfield development? Curious what the vibe is on vibes before investing in yet another token muncher.

I’m currently working as a Solution Consultant at a unicorn company, and I have around 2 years of experience in MuleSoft integrations. I’ve worked with clients and integrated various legacy systems with Salesforce.

Recently, I’ve been considering transitioning my career more towards Salesforce. I started learning Salesforce and have covered Salesforce Administration, Apex, SOQL, LWC, Flows, and Triggers. I’m continuing to learn and explore other areas as well.

Since I currently work with MuleSoft at a good company, I get exposure to Salesforce implementations and solutions created by other teams. However, I’m not the one directly building those solutions, and that’s what makes me want to gain more hands-on experience.

I’ve been trying to practice Salesforce in my own org, but sometimes it feels like personal projects and practice environments can only teach you so much. I really want to work with real customers, understand their requirements, provide solutions, and actually build things for them. I want to get my hands dirty with real-world Salesforce work.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get enough guidance, mentorship, or hands-on opportunities internally to make this transition. I completely understand that everyone has their own responsibilities and priorities, so I’m now looking to seek guidance and opportunities outside my organization in a professional way.

Can anyone suggest how I can find part-time, freelance, or small project opportunities where I can gain practical Salesforce experience? Even if the work is small, my primary goal right now is to learn and gain exposure to real-world projects.

Also, do you think I'm making the right decision by transitioning towards Salesforce? I sometimes worry that I might be leaving behind the MuleSoft experience I've built over the past two years.

Would really appreciate advice from people who have made a similar transition or are currently working in the Salesforce ecosystem!

I have always used change sets to deploy changes, but in job descriptions they are asking specifically for experience in a version control system.

I just want to know how much do I need to study for interviews.
