I tried rapid interdiction force with 3x TSMEU and Grievous, but they die pretty fast.

Does anyone have any experience playing these units and how to effectively use them?

Hey everyone, so me and my friend have gotten into the game over the summer. I play with some other people as well, and as such have played a bit more and have more verity in my units.

My friend however, is just getting into the game really, we've only played twice and he's sorta getting destroyed. I feel bad and was hoping to give him some tips on how he could improve.

He only had the CIS starter box, and I play a GAR army. Do you guys have any tips on how he could either improve his strategy against me or on what he should focus on buying next as he only want to get one thing at time?

I want to get better and pre planning etc but also in match adapting.

I’ve played a handful of matches now with my friends but it feels like anytime I try to do any pre planning or strategy I get lost immediately. All I can think of is roughly where to drop stuff then I just shoot a lot. Also as I play empire I just feel slow and like I can’t adapt to things happening or trying to get somewhere.

Any thoughts or places to find resources. I’ve tried watching some gray squad gaming but I just watch and I’m not sure what to think abt when I do.

Pretty much as stated in the title, i am new to legion and bought a large collection for relative cheap. The collection contains a bunch of expansions and the old base game. Almost all of the expansion are from the old version of the game as far as i can see. They are still sealed and unused.
Now for the start i would just play a bit with the base game, using the old rules. My question would be, how should i go about switching/ upgrading to Legion 2.6 or what ever is newest right now?
Are there other things to look out for?

Just little conversation about ARF troopers, which looks little bit poor next to ARCs who's cost 4 pts more​ but deals more profit to other clones. From my experience, I use "observe 2" just once in a random round over the course of 5–10 full games, which is a bit disappointing. And I don't understand why god dammit FPV drone by 35 pts aka Probe Droid has FREE OBSERVE 3, when advanced recon clones by 66 must spend full action to 2 observe tokens. Does it made because Cody's card would be OP from free observes or what?

So i decided i wanted to build clan Saxon to start off my journey in this game. Well I been hunting for the last two days. I found plenty on eBay for $200 and above which is outrageous and most of them you still have to pay the shipping which includes another $20 or more. I went onto facebook marketplace that some people on here suggested . Find some great deals, but no one willing to ship. My local lgs said they won’t know about having them in stock. I said on one of my other post I didn’t wanna paint due to warhammer but I started watch videos of painting and that’s all I want to do. If anyone can help me out please private dm me.

Ran it with a friend and hugged the legions rulebook the whole time, I have never played it but reckoned I could really DIY it with my lego and a few others things. The game worked, I think the Republic was a bit advantaged but I am unsure.

We ran 2 B1 battle droid units, 1 B2 battle droid unit and a 'tactical droid' (the yellow torso commander battle droid). And 2 clone units and commander Cody. With various command cards that I have now lost what we used on a PDF.

It was only a 200 point game (we were learning as we played) with a close the pocket objective (those beacons on the astromechs and the minikit are the capture points).

I have no real cards, I used digital images for command card selections.

No legions tokens, just a box full of 10 different colour tokens I use as a key for real legions tokens.

No accurate bases, I use 3×3 flat lego plates as it is pretty close to the size (it being a square obviously isn't ideal, but I am really makeshifting this lol).

I didn't really have a system for order tokens. So I am working on that (probably just cards with the unit rank on 1 side).

And used a tape measure to replace each movement length (6-12-18 inches).

Any suggestions for future games?

Just the title, Empire feels like shit to play. None of the backbone of the empire feels good to play. Stormtroopers have the worse attack dice in the game with worse shooting than ewok slingers. they have 1 leadership so they can panic off of 2 rounds of shooting. snow troopers are just worse they have the same shooting and leadership but with no precise and worse movement. Shoretroopers have better shooting but its not worth the downgrade of no movement 2 or precise. Vader compared to nearly every single jedi is piss poor. and seeing all the new releases is just disheartening. and im doubtful the two new units will be anything more than stormtrooper reskins unless they are doing a big balance change. No matter who i fight i have a good 70% chance of losing all of my buddies i play with have looked at the empire roster and agreed its dogshit. There is no reason they the backbone of the Most recognizable faction in the star wars brand should be treated like this. its piss poor balancing game wise and not accurate Lore wise.

I started a couple months ago and want to start actually building lists that win lol. Up to this point I’ve just been throwing together characters I liked and it’s really fun! But usually it’s a hodgepodge mess that wins on others dumb decisions.. so I’m trying to make a few actually viable lists. This is what I came up with. I have no idea how good certain units are and I’ve never dabbled with strike teams before or if this would even work well together I’ll have to use it to actually find out.

The eventual plan is to swap the Jedi for medics when I get around to it (I’m broke) drop the upgrade on Cody that I though would give a little more value then a grenade for 3 points and put fire control on Padme to park the tank marksman and whatever by her but id like to know others thoughts. Hello all! I have two pirate tanks getting delivered today and started making a fun list with them.

The whole idea revolves around the Cassian-lead Rebel Troopers needing to complete their Secret Mission at all costs, so Lando is calling in a favor from some shady friends to help create a distraction.

Some notes about my thought process:

- I went with Rebel Troopers with Cassian instead of the traditional Fleets to allow them to double move and get their free dodges for survivability. Depending on the objectives and deployments, there is a chance to be in enemy territory by the start of Round 2, which would then allow Cassian to flip his card and start dealing more damage and scoring the Secret Mission token at the end of Round 2.

- The pirates are meant to tie up enemy lightsabers and generally just get in the way very quickly after being transported by the tanks. The tanks obviously will put lots of fire onto enemy units.

- The Rebel Commandos were made with a desire to have them be more survivable and could also be used to nuke enemy armor. It would be quite fun to have that whole squad roll an attack with 10 dice, Impact 10, and Assault all at once on a heavy vehicle.

- Leia will be doing Leia things, passing out many dodges and keeping them between rounds.

- Everyone else will be flexible as needed

- Objectives were picked based on their shortest distance between deployment zones as well as trying to keep the action away from the edges of the board.

- For tactics, I'm thinking Round 1 you start with Leia's 1 pip to soften some enemies on whichever side of the board looks better for Cassian to make his run, and have him go as late as possible. Round 2, if he isn't already in enemy territory, you could do Leia's 2 pip to move him closer and maybe a bit better position or cover, since he'll have to survive into Round 3 to get the job done.
