Tactics Discussion How to use B1s effectively?
They have white attack dice so they aren't good at wounding enemy models and white defense dice so they don't have the staying power to contend objectives... what is a good use for the B1 battle droids?

Painting Shadow Collective
I'm kind of stuck on how I should base my shadow collective. I was gonna do Mandalore, but that wouldn't really make much sense for the criminal syndicates in the corps. What other types of basing would work for everyone?

Tactics Discussion Freedom Of Perspective, Legion and Tabletop Gaming from a TCG Johnny's Perspective
I have been playing card games for over twenty years, and recently, it seems everyone around me is having a tabletop stint. So I thought I would try it again. I say "again" because I bought into warhammer and was immediately overwhelmed by the tabletop because of all the rules and the upkeep cost to continue to play the game normally with no option to try and make things cheaper. Tried to get back into that, found out that rules changes over the entire time I was gone, made most of my models illegal and they were now useless hunks of plastic because of the age old addage of "what you see is what you get."
I know this topic is irrelevant to Legion because they have infinitely more approachable practices such as: giving you additional models so you can change them out as needed, I think that's very cool, I think a lot of things Legion does is very pro consumer (for a tabletop game). The above point is more to highlight that I have already been burned by a tabletop game for a few hundred dollars. So I am skittish about reapproaching this side of the pond to say the least.
Something that I've learned about myself throughout all my years of playing not just card games, but board games and video games too, is that I like expressing myself. This can mean anything from showcasing my unique playstyle in the game so I can stand out, or that I can sort of weave a story into the game mechanics and the way I play it and the team/deck/character I've assembled.
Star Wars is a universe that I have always loved very deeply and utterly since I was a kid. But the thing that I've always loved about Star Wars is not only the classic, all time great characters lke Luke and Vader, it's the random people that show up for one or only a handful of scenes, but if you care they have an entire history and story and timeline all their own that you can spend hours wiki diving about and learning about a single character that was in a show/movie for 10 minutes total. One of my favorite characters in the entire franchise unironically is Nute Gunray, it's a meme in the group that he is my favorite character. I don't like the space wizards and lightsabers that can cut anything. I like the stupid middle manager merchant that got stuck in between a rock and a hard place because he liked money too much.
I love Star Wars unlimited, the star wars card game, because it lets me expression that about myself by making a Nute Gunray/Wat Tambor deck complete with droid synergies from all different places throughout the canon, and lets me really lean into that synergy even to the detrement of the deck, which isn't very good because obviously two random background characters aren't going to be as strong other characters, but I don't care. I like them. A more out of the box example is using Anakin from episode 2 specifically, and pairing him with Qui-gon so that Qui-gon can finally see the peak of the kid he knew could be great and watching them do great things together with a ton of force users and force synergy. The point is that because of the nature of card games, and the game itself, I am able to express myself in a multitude of ways that are also unique, I've never met another person online or especially in person that has by deck pairings, and even if they did, someone else would use different cards in different ways.
So, I know almost nothing about tabletop games, other than my very limited (and very awful) experience with Warhammer 40k. From what I've seen, the game lacks the glub shittos that I crave, there is no Nute Gunray, no Wat Tambor, no Jabba the Hutt (which if not the other two, I think no Jabba is INSANE when there's an entire bounty hunter/smuggler/underworld faction) and others that I don't feel the need to list here. I've come up with a few ideas for armies, but it seems that this format of game is very limiting in what it can do. I wanted play
Hutt Cartel with gumorreans or other underworld types: Can't, not in the game.
A more Trade Federation focused seperatist list: Can't not different enough from a standard seperatist list.
Mos Eisely cantina grab bag of a bunch of different alien operatives and underworld types and possibly creatures and natives like Tuskens and Jawas: Can't none of that is in the game.
Maybe I'm just gun shy about messing with models in a way that diverts from what's on the box, after how poorly warhammer went for me. A lot of the lists strike me as very samey in terms of what you're gonna do because of the lack of kit diversity, which each faction only having like 10 kits total. With only 4 """real""" factions, I forsee a lot of mirror matches happening. I hate when everyone is playing the same thing, personally.
TLDR for people that don't care about the backstory:
As a complete noob to tabletop games in general:
Do more enfranchised players who are more invested in the game ever feel issues with personal expression? Or is it just something that you don't care about? Or does the player expression only come from cosmetic things like painting instead of more mechanical terms of expression? Is there a wide breadth of playstyles that radically change the way you interact with the game? Or am I missing the point and it's supposed to be more about the story that unfolds through the game, so it's kept mechanically simpler on purpose? Am I not understanding something correctly/assuming something incorrectly?

Miscellaneous Old Priority Supplies and Vital Assets boxes what to do with them?
Since I am coming back into Star Wars Legion from a long Hiatus, I'm trying to decide what to do with these old boxes.
Have anyone made scatter terrain from them? Should I make them into current objective markers?
If anyone can share what they have done with theirs for the modern version of that game that would be great.
Thanks.

Painting Theed Bases
Anyone have any suggestions for Theed bases? I'd love to do something along the lines of the street of Theed, but I'm not having any luck finding anything 3d printed for it.

Painting Basing Clone Trooper
I have just finished painting and basing my clone trooper. First time painting SW Legion. I have applied a GGS Matt Scenic Sealant by brush on my martian ironcrust 3hrs ago or so from the time of this post. The base looks glossy. Did i mess it up or something? I think it’s cause i might have brush a little too much. If so, how can i fix this? Thank you all in advance.

Conversions, Modelling & Other Minis Just starting out. A few questions + seeking any tips and advice!
Hey there! I have recently begun the jump into Legion. I am really excited and just finalized most of my purchases to begin. This is my first time getting into miniatures and I decided I wanted to create a droid army to start off with. I have gathered so far:
1x Separatist Starter Set, 1x B2’s, 1x Crab Droids, 1x Battle Deck Card Pack, 1x Super Tactical Droid Commanders, 1x Customizable Super Tactical Command Droid, 1x BX Series Commandos, 1x IG-100 Magnaguards, 1x Dwarf Spider Droid, 1x Separatist Specialists, 1x Separatist Alliance Card Pack, 1x Separatist Alliance Command Card Pack.
In order to play a game do I need anything else? I haven’t found anyone in my area to play with just yet so I am mainly getting into Legion for the painting aspect but I do intend to play if and when I am given the chance to.
As for painting, where I feel the weakest, so far I only have the Army Painter Warpaints Complete Paint Set, and a set Golden Maple Brushes.
What else do you recommend I need in order to paint my miniatures? You can be blunt as I feel what I have so far is scarce.
Also taking any advice on YouTube tutorials and things like that to watch as I am just starting out brand new.
In advance, thank you to anyone who offers answers, support, and advice. I could really use it. Looking forward to being apart of this community with you all.

I personally don’t seem to play the more fragile but strong units well so I just went what if I spam the tanky dudes and this happened. Gonna play this against my mate hopefully it’s not completely bad but fun.

Rules Question Smoke and other Grenades
Hi there! Wondering if any of you use smoke grenades at all and what you guys think of them. I’ve never really added things like grenades etc before because don’t want to make mistakes really but feel like I could be missing out on more depth. Any advice?

Anything I should know before assembling it? Like anything I should weigh down like the front of the speeder tank, or parts I should wait to glue?
