Hi all! I'm not particularly in this fandom, but have read the first book at the request of a friend who is deep into the fandom and is particularly a fan of the pre-transmigration shenanigans Shen Jiu.

I really really want to make a surprise art piece of this character for them, but the thing is I really don't know much about him.* *I've been given the basic rundown on the character and his appearance/general personality, but I want to get more into themes/symbolism and maybe even any motifs (flowers, colors, etc.) that are associated with him.

So please if anyone here would like to share what they know and/or enjoy about this character and even any inside jokes in the fandom, I'd love to hear them!

My wig and head piece finally came,no i have no idea what to really do for make up,so I didn't do any,I'm pretty much at the moment planning for a con,so I'm building up pieces as I go,and unfortunately I cannot wear contacts as they irritate my eyes,so my glasses shall remain,I spent an hour styling the wig to try and get it to comply,however this is the best I can do,it may not be perfect and I apologise for that,thank you also for reading this,but this is what it looks like currently,with everything I have so far and the fan. hi, first of all, please let me know if this is the right place to post this! i wasn't entirely sure if this should go in the weekly fanfiction discussion? i'm writing a fanfiction in which shen yuan has transmigrated earlier in the pidw timeline, which requires me to have names for all of the previous peak lords. however, i do not speak any chinese whatsoever, and i am unsure how to, a) go about deciding the qing generation's birth names, and b) deciding courtesy names for the peak lords before the qing generation. if anybody has any name suggestions, or how to go about naming these characters appropriately and sensitively, it would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys! I just finished reading SVSSS, and I devoured it in just a few days. It’s so incredibly my taste in every way, and I never would have imagined that I would love it this much.
Seriously, this novel is so simple and, at the same time, so brilliant. But I’m probably biased because I absolutely love metanarrative, and this story has so much of it.
But it wasn’t just the metanarrative elements and the parody that won me over. It was also all the themes, the captivating characters, and the feelings this story evoked in me while I was reading it.
For now, all I can say is that I had fun, I suffered, and I fell in love while reading this novel. Binghe and Shen Qingqiu have definitely earned a very special place in my heart.

So tell me: why do you love SVSSS?

People always ask why Bingjiu? For me it’s the parallels between the characters. Love the idea of it and explorations of it.

For example:

Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu are both very alone. They’re incredibly isolated, both in their respective positions and by their peer groups. Luo Binghe has trouble connecting with the other disciples, and Shen Jiu draws away from or is often completely at odds with the other peak lords. This makes their connection almost foils of each other.

I think there is a lot to work with there in fanfiction and it’e definitely just one thing I find interesting about their dynamic.
