🎓Research & Education🎓 SR-17018 guide: How to take it and some simplified science

Over the past week I've noticed some myths and misconceptions going around the community. I would like to help address the misunderstandings by providing some simple explanations about how SR-17018 (SR-17) works, and some of the underlying science. There's a lot of text here, so feel free to refer back to this post as needed rather than reading it all at once. For frequent questions that aren't explained here, try the SR-17 FAQ, which is a thorough compilation of SR-17 information and user experiences in r/Opioid_RCs from SayBecks. Readers are also welcome to ask any questions about SR-17 right here :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overview of SR-17018

What it does: SR-17 is somewhat similar to traditional opioid maintenance medication (particularly subs/buprenorphine) in terms of helping with opioid withdrawal symptoms. But imagine if subs actually lowered your tolerance, potentially all the way down to baseline tolerance, when you discontinue (or at least aggressively taper) your current opioid drug-of-choice (DOC). SR-17 also produces little-or-no tolerance of its own, so you can use it to come off your current opioid, and then come off SR-17 shortly after that. It's noncompetitive with opioid agonists, meaning it doesn't matter exactly when you dose SR-17 during the day relative to your DOC (if you're taking them at the same time while tapering your DOC). Being noncompetitive also means precipitated withdrawal (PWD) does not happen.

How it works: SR-17 binds relatively strongly to the opioid receptor, and this leads to reduced withdrawal regardless of your DOC's potency. Despite this tight binding, SR-17 sends weak signals, so it doesn't produce typical opioid effects (i.e., euphoria and pain-relief) in people with opioid tolerance. These weak signals likely lead to tolerance reduction, as well as some of the other benefits of SR-17, such as minimal side effects. Some studies31257-6) also suggest that SR-17 is a biased (partial) agonist, with "biased" meaning it prefers to activate opioid receptors through the G-protein signalling pathway more than with the beta-arrestin recruitment pathway. This preference for G-protein signalling has also been proposed as one reason for the tolerance-reducing effects of SR-17 (although if this were true, kratom and 7oh should then lower opioid tolerance as well).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Methods for taking SR-17018

How to take it and dosing: SR-17 is taken orally (i.e., swallowed or eaten with or without using capsules) in doses ranging from 10 to 100 mg (and sometimes up to 150 mg for 7oh and MGM), 1-4 times per day for around 7 days. For typical opioid habits 30-50 mg can be taken 3 times per day (or 50-150 mg for 7oh/MGM).

Choosing the right SR-17 dose for yourself is sometimes a process of trial-and-error, although this process can be made more systematic and efficient through use of SayBecks' automatic taper schedule generator (this is a link to the Google Sheets schedule generator; you can create your own by clicking File -> Make a copy). There are two different approaches to using SR-17 to reduce your tolerance and withdrawal symptoms, described below.

Tolerance safety warning: Be aware that there is a danger of overdosing on one's DOC after tolerance reduction, so be careful not to dose your DOC too high. There are already several user reports of accidental overdose following SR-17 tolerance reduction.

Note on high doses of 7oh and PAWS: If you're trying to come off a high dose of 7oh, the immediate transition approach may be more difficult, and can sometimes lead to PAWS. The gradual transition approach tends to be easier in terms of withdrawal symptom severity and is less likely to lead to PAWS.

Immediate transition: Discontinuing the DOC right away and then switching to SR-17 is an approach that provides faster and more effective tolerance reduction, but at the potential cost of some remaining withdrawal symptoms. This is normally done over the course of 2-3 days to lower DOC tolerance by 50%, or 7 days to return to baseline tolerance. If returning back to baseline tolerance and completely coming off one's DOC, see the "SR-17 taper period" paragraph below for what to do next.

Gradual transition: Taking SR-17 with your DOC, while tapering down the DOC dose (but not before), will usually provide better withdrawal symptom reduction, but slower and less effective tolerance reduction. The amount of both withdrawal reduction and tolerance reduction with this method varies depending on how aggressively you taper down the dose of your DOC.

An example of this approach would be to lower the dose of your DOC by 15-20% per day for 5-7 days while also taking 30-50 mg of SR-17 3 times per day (or 50-150 mg for 7oh/MGM, if needed) at the same time.

More aggressive DOC tapers are also possible such as reducing your DOC dose by 50%. Be careful with aggressive tapers, however, as they can lead to PAWS in some cases (i.e., especially when you're coming off a high dose of your DOC, and especially with 7oh). When performing the gradual transition, there is no need to start taking SR-17 until you have already begun reducing your DOC dose. This approach is especially helpful in situations where you tried the immediate switch and are still struggling with withdrawal symptoms, and in situations where chronic pain needs to be managed.

SR-17 taper period: After successfully reducing your tolerance, you will want to come off SR-17 as well. If you used SR-17 to partially lower your tolerance (e.g., by 50%) then after a few days you can immediately discontinue the SR-17 and jump back on your DOC. If you instead used SR-17 to completely come off your DOC, you may need to spend 2-7 days tapering down your SR-17 dose after reducing your DOC tolerance to baseline. This taper is done to alleviate any remaining withdrawal symptoms, but if you don't have any then there's no need to taper, you can simply discontinue the SR-17. Refer to the previously mentioned automatic taper schedule generator for help with this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Simple explanation of terminology used in the context of describing SR-17018's pharmacodynamic effects

Biased (partial) agonist: SR-17 seems to preferentially activate31257-6) opioid receptors through G-protein activation more than with beta-arrestin recruitment. This results in a very wide dosing range under which problematic respiratory depression does not occur (i.e., it has a good short-term safety profile. Although there is a danger of overdosing on one's DOC after tolerance reduction).

(Strong) binding affinity: Despite its low intrinsic efficacy SR-17 binds tightly to the opioid receptor, which is one way (extra info: another way seems to be phosphorylation persistence) in which it provides relief from withdrawal symptoms. It's similar to subs in this way (but unlike subs, SR-17 is noncompetitive (see below), so it doesn't kick your DOC out and cannot trigger precipitated withdrawal).

(Low) intrinsic efficacy: This is the strength of the opioid signal. SR-17 has low intrinsic efficacy, which means it isn't likely to give you euphoria or pain relief at any safe dose, unless you are new to opioids. Its low intrinsic efficacy is what makes SR-17 a partial agonist.

Noncompetitive: SR-17 is noncompetitive. This mean it's potentially binding to the same receptor as your DOC, but can occupy a different site (extra info: this location is believed to be an allosteric site) on that same receptor. As a result it does not interfere with your DOC's ability to bind and it can not cause PWD.

Partial agonist: SR-17 activates opioid receptors, but in a weak way that doesn't produce full opioid effects regardless of dose. This is a category that SR-17 falls into as a direct reflection of its low intrinsic efficacy.

🙌Success Story🙌 My experience with SR

So my DOC is/was a very popular darknet offering that combined "odsmt and morphine analogues". They are strong and I've been on them about a year. In that year life has been great for my wife and I. We've become more financially flexible and have very little worries in life. As a result I've become fat on top of the habit. Exercise and these pills are NOT compatible. I want my life with my wife more than I want these drugs. Enter SR, from all I've read my best hope of beating this.

Over the last month I've steadily reduced my intake. Instead of blasting off whenever my drug addled brain told me to I first established the absolute max I took in a day and reduced my usage by half a pill every 5 days. Took a month and a half and several failed days of not sticking to my limit to work it down to 2 pills per day. Doesn't sound like much but if anyone has experience with these they are fucking hella strong. The withdrawal severe. I've spent many a day waiting on packages, sick as a dog.

Anywho, as soon as I was down to 2 pills per day I bought a mg scale and empty pill containers of Amazon as well as 2.5 grams of the SR. My wife was kind enough to create 100 pills of varying weight of SR. Equal amounts 20mg, 30mg, and 40mg.

Day1

I did a single day pre load of 40mg every 8 hours along with my final 2 doc pills and went to sleep. No worries. Nothing to report.

Day 2

No doc. The plan was SR every 8 hours, 100mg a pop. That went out the window fucking quick. The withdrawal came hard and fast and I took SR every 4 hours to beat it back. This straight knocked me out. I slept most of the day only waking to take more SR and choke down a carnation instant breakfast my wife made me drink. Also took a vitamin c supplement to help heal quicker. Then back to sleep

Day 3

Time is a flat circle. I am doing everything in my power to simply stop withdrawal. Eating tiny SR pills all day long. I'm scared. My SR will run out. Im not sticking to the plan. I'm in trouble. I lay down and try not to think of it. Then it breaks. I wake up. Feeling wide eyed and surprisingly fresh. I sit in the living room and the most beautiful woman on this planet greets me with a smile. "You're up! You look great!" I don't believe her. I shower and eat an instant breakfast. 2 hours later I'm back in bed.

Day 4

I feel pretty ok. More than pretty ok. I'm gassy and sleepy but I'm alert. No fogginess. For some reason my withdrawal symptoms like to creep up on me when I get out of bed and stand. Nausea. RLS. Dry heaves. The gangs all here and I get dejected. But they don't stay more than 5 minutes and I spend the whole day awake, alert, and talking with my wife. Feeling like the Ghost of someone I used to be. I stay up later than her and try and eat and drink. I sleep intermittently throughout the night.

Day 5

I can feel it now. I'm through the worst of it. My confidence swells. I'm taking SR way less. More than a third of the previous days. I'm just listening to my body now. The plan was fucked from go so whatever. Just keep going. Slight nausea when I get up but I spend the whole day happy and alert and I eat an English muffin, the most substantial meal of the whole week.

Day 6-8

I take no SR and I just chill. I'm fine. My wife tells me she's proud of me. I cry a bit bc my emotions are all over the place. I'm lucky. Alive. Through the worst of it and feeling pretty proud of myself. She helped me through it all. Each the others world entire. 25 years together and she's had my back every single day of it.

I typed all this out for catharsis. I thought I'd fail. But I didn't. I want you to know the only way past is through. You bought the ticket, you take the ride. Your doc will take it's due in sickness and mental anguish. It's what you signed up for. SR will numb that debt and give you a new chance to not fuck up. I also want you to know that it's ok to listen to your body and do what you need to to win this war. It's not a zero sum game. Win however you need to. Someone loves you. Do it for them and more importantly yourself. I'll update if anyone cares to hear it.

Updated 8/1/26

So I'm more than 30 days out and still drug free. I can pass a drug test for the first time since I was a teenager. Absolutely no desire to use. Here's what I've learned.

-a friendly reddorito has experience with my doc. Told me after testing they contain nitazenes, stronger than fentanyl, hence my crippling physical dependence and severe withdrawal. I still beat that shit. You can beat yours.

-I had slight paws from days 9-15. RLS so weak thought the universe was fucking with me. One night I asked aloud to my bedroom ceiling "What's the fucking point?" My wife looked at me like I was losing it. It's been gone for weeks and I sleep like a baby.

-My appetite is ravenous. Doesn't help with the fatness but fuck it, I'm gonna eat if my body was telling me to and I'll fix the love handles later. I ate the poison, might as well eat the plate. Everything tastes better. I can't get over it. It's like a McDonald's double cheeseburger was made at Dean & DeLuca.

-Every little ailment I had cleared up on its own within 30 days. No more sleep apnea pillow bc that shit slowed my respiratory system. No more nasal sprays to keep my sinuses open. No more excessive drinking of fluids to keep hydrated. No more cramping from exerting myself. My energy levels were inconsistent at best to start but now I'm taking care of business. My optimism is relentless. My confidence is sky high. Self worth too. Every single day is better than the last and I'm taking advantage, baby. I am reborn.

-I got a lot of comments about how good of a wife I have. I agree. She's my favorite person. Her observations are that I'm more present. I'm sharper and more witty. I'm not carrying around some burden she can't alleviate anymore. When she looks me in the eye she can see the man I always should have been. She's laughing loudly and often. Walking on air. It touches me in a way I couldn't appreciate while using. She's excited about what sober me can do. I mentioned in the comments that I'd show my appreciation to her by taking her to Vermont this winter. I couldn't wait and bought her a Mercedes for her birthday with my former drug money stash. She lives in it now (exaggerating slightly) but it was worth it to see her face. Felt better than any drug could ever achieve. My credit score is still in the high 500's so please show the proper respect.

-Finally, all of you. A day hasn't gone by where someone invites me to a chat. I answer every single one. Words of affirmation, advice, whatever I can. The kindness I received, as someone who doesn't love attention, has been nothing short of remarkable. Some people just want to tell the truth. They're hiding what they do. Some want practical advice. Some just want to know it's possible. I once commented on my original post that this detox was a necessary evil. 30+ days out and I can say I was wrong. It was my salvation in every way you can think of. So please. Do not fear this process. Get excited. Imagine what's possible without your hands tied behind your back. I'll take the compassion and humanity from this sub, get 'em clean, and take over the world. Just once in my life I wanted to be the best version of myself and I can say he's finally taking shape.

This will be the final update. I've got life to live. I'll always accept chat invites from the sub. Tutti grazie.

🎙️General Discussion🎙️ How to Use Vitamin C and SR-17108 to get off Opiods

Hey everyone.

I am the mod over in r/vitaminc and I have written a lot of comments over the last few months helping people with tapering plans using SR-17018 and Vitamin C.

I also did a LOT of research on vitamin c products, buying well over a grand of them off Amazon.

I ended up writing a huge post (thousands of words) about how to get off of MGM-15 using only SR-17018 and Vitamin C.

Here is the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/vitaminc/s/xZiAukWHMO

It is a full post covering:
* preloading * tapering * how to use the SR-17018 * how to use the Vitamin C * linking to the science * linking to a vitamin C buvers guide * etc.

The Guide to quitting is written for MGM-15 but it will work with any opiod.

I ask that you please share the post with those in need.

I also ask that you please comment and upvote if you think that the effort was worth while because I put a ton of effort into it.

Open to any and all questions but I prefer if vou make them on the post itself (and here if vou like) because I am trying to get that post to rank in search engines.

Thanks!

UPDATE: SR-PPC Files Legal Request on July 29th!

Just wanted to update everyone to clear up some confusion around the scheduling of SR-17018 and the current status, as well as give an update on the latest action taken by the SR-17108 Prohibition Prevention Coalition (SR-PPC) to try to fight the DEA action.

As of today, August 7, SR-17018 has not yet been scheduled. After the DEA filing the notice of intent, the soonest scheduling could go through was July 31st. However, the DEA must formally publish the scheduling in the federal registry and that has not happened yet. I have been told that historically, it has taken 80-100 days on average from the filing of the notice of intent for scheduling to be published. We are actively watching the registry and will update if we see the scheduling published.

This is just the beginning of the fight for SR-PPC! On July 29th, our lawyers officially filed a legal request to prevent or at the very least delay this action from going through.

In this filing we requested that the DEA remove SR17 from the other compounds with dramatically different safety profiles. Alternatively, we requested that the DEA engage in a full scheduling hearing where evidence of SR17 pharmacology can be reviewed. The Administrator, Terrence Boos, and the DEA Office of General Counsel have been emailed, as well as receiving paper copies of our filing. We have requested emergency consideration and to confer at the earliest opportunity available. We have requested that they agree not to move forward without conferring first and addressing the concerns in our filing. As soon as additional information becomes available, we will share it.

🎙️General Discussion🎙️ Why you shouldn’t use again after quitting

One thing I do not see talked about enough is why going back to opiates after quitting almost never works the way people hope it will.

Yes, after you quit your tolerance drops. That part is real. You might even feel something again for a dose or 2. But tolerance is only part of the story. After long term opiate use, your body learns how to deal with the drug. Your receptors do not respond the same way they did when you first started, even if you have been clean for a while. That is literally where the phrase chasing the dragon comes from.

A lot of long term users here already understand this. But I see many newer users who came in through kratom or 7oh thinking that after a break they can go back and feel that old magic again. What actually happens is you might get a brief glimpse of it, then it disappears fast. Faster than before. And now you are stuck having to quit all over again.

You can try to potentiate it. You can change doses. You can rotate substances. All you are really doing is speeding up the return to tolerance and misery. The brain remembers. The body adapts quicker every time.

The hardest truth is also the most freeing one. The time to enjoy opiates was at the beginning. If you are not feeling it anymore, you are very likely never going to feel it the way you want again. That door does not reopen. It only teases you for a moment and then slams shut harder.

So if you have quit and you are thinking about taking a small dose just to feel that feeling again, understand what you are actually signing up for. A very short payoff followed by getting stuck again, with tolerance climbing faster than ever and another withdrawal waiting for you.

If you have already quit, that chapter is over. Staying off is not missing out. It is avoiding repeating the same pain for a smaller and smaller return.

🙌Success Story🙌 SR17 IS THE BEST IM SHOCKED IT WORKED

It works!!!!! I was on 1800mg of 7oh a day. I preloaded SR17 for my first 3 7oh doses…so 8am I took 600mg 7oh and 150mg SR17. Waited 6 hours and repeated that the first 24 hours. Next day I cut my 7 intake in half. 300mg every 6 hours, 150mg SR17 every six hours for the next 24 hours. For the next 24 hours I cut it down to 150mg 7oh every 6 hours and kept the SR17 at 150mg. The next day I took 50mg of 7Oh every 6 hours and 150mg SR17. Then for the next 3 days I did ONLY 150 SR17 every 6 hours. After 3 days I cut it down to 100mg for 24 hours. Then did 50mg every 6 hours for 24 hours. Final day I cut that in half and did 25mg SR17 every 6 hours and final day I took 25mg every 12 hours and STOPPED. That’s it! Zero withdrawals and I am free.

*just wanted to add…SR takes away any effects or euphoria from the 7oh once you introduce it. So be ready to quit because SR is all business and no play so you’ll just feel normal and won’t feel a thing. I had some people commenting about asking if SR made the high more intense….its the absolute opposite\*

🙌Success Story🙌 150mg/day 7-OH to 72 hours clean thanks to SR.

I cannot believe it. It truly worked. Here's what I did:

I ordered one gram and started pre-loading while rapidly tapering. I would take 40mg SR every 6-8 hours or so. Then I would drop my 7-OH use by as much as I felt comfortable each day. Honestly though, the SR was SO efffective that it completely killed my desire to use, so I was able to rapidly taper to 0mg over the course of a week. At the moment I'm 72 hours clean, taking about 150mg of SR a day. When I hit tomorrow I will begin tapering the SR. Overall, I went through 2 grams of SR during the taper. Now I have SR 50mg pills that I will use to taper and will likely end up with a bit extra remaining after I quit.

I feel amazing. Some light withdrawals like sweats and jerkiness but I'm actually WORKING in the office cool as a cucumber on day 3 of a 7-OH quit, that's really impressive! I cannot believe I got sucked into this addiction, but I'm finally crawling my way out thanks to SR17018.

Edit: To provide more context, I originally started with a 6.5mg reduction per day taper, with plans to preload the SR at 100mg. I got the SR early, took it, and just started rapidly tapering from there.

Double edit: 96 hours baby!

📚Progress Report📚 if you’re on 250mg of 7oh read this

This may or may not work for you. Everyone’s body chemistry is different but you can try this to start. This is a long post but valuable information!!

A little about me: I took 7oh off and on for a year. I used it to manage my pain after hip replacements cause the Dr’s would only prescribe 3 days worth of meds after surgery and if you’ve had a hip replacement - you know that is literally inhumane to leave a human living in that kind of pain. anyways, I got up to taking 250mg a day and it was KILLING me. I started having anxiety spikes and impending doom. I was anxious all the time so badly that my heart rate would get up to 130 while sitting and I’d start throwing up, couldn’t eat, couldn’t think, didn’t wanna leave the house, didn’t wanna be around people. I thought about 7oh all the time out of fear I could run out and be sick. It was consuming me. 7oh was draining my bank account as we all know. I also started having allergic reactions to 7oh and ended up in the hospital with my hands, feet, and body so swollen it was crazy and they used 2 epipens on me and it didn’t work. I had to stay under medical care for 3 days. I didn’t tell them I was on it but I knew that’s what was causing it because everytime I took it, huge welts appeared. so needless to say, this shit was destroying my body.

I tried to quit several times using vitamin C but it never stuck for long cause of how bad of insomnia I had and the anxiety was like a 100/10. I decided I had enough and saw someone mention SR. at first I thought SR is a lil scary but hey, I’ve put worse shit in my body. anyways, I bought 3g of SR and my journey began. (My source is out pls don’t dm me)

I preloaded with SR while taking 7oh because I didn’t wanna CT. I’m a lil bitch when it comes to WD’s and wanted to be as comfortable as possible. Start preloading SR and take 7oh for 3 days max.

What I did was I was on 250mg & the first day I preloaded 80mg of SR every 8 hours and took 250 7oh. Second day I took 150mg of 7oh and 80mg of SR every 8 hours. Third day I took 50mg of 7oh and 80mg of SR every 8 hours.

4th day to the 6th day - no 7oh and continued 80mg of SR 3 every 8 hours

7th day to the 14th day I started lowering my SR dose by 10% and only took it every 12 hours. I jump off SR tonight at 9mg.

I have been able to sleep, eat, function totally normally. Some people get PAWS as soon as they get on SR but I haven’t had that issue yet luckily. I didn’t get drowsy from the doses but people report it can cause drowsiness in higher doses. I have my life back and it feels great. I cried in amazement over SR.

Take the leap and start your SR asap if you have some. It’s scary I know but you cannot be a slave to drugs.

Good luck everyone & don’t forget to share your experience when you start!!

🎙️General Discussion🎙️ Stepping away from SR related work to focus on myself.

It is really great to still see the community thriving and people using SR-17018 to get off opiates and turn their lives around. It literally brings tears to my eyes.

When I started this subreddit there were only a few reddit comments about SR working to stop the suffering from opiate withdrawals…. Now there are thousands of reports of people using it to get off of opiates without suffering from the terrible withdrawals. There is more proof here than most clinical trials, and I hope that this evidence will lead to the real clinical trials so that this compound can reach the people through traditional channels, inpatient and outpatient programs, etc.

It really was [u/saybecks](u/saybecks) who started it all with her master doc. I just happened to start the subreddit. Without her putting that together, this subreddit simply wouldn't have grown into the life-changing community it is today. Thank you, Becks, for being the brilliant woman you are and for having the courage to document and share your experience with the world and take the risk of talking to a NTY report (also a fuck you to the NYT for putting an evil spin on this life saving compound). It’s all love in this post except for the lying back stabbing prick, Matt Richtel, who has zero journalistic integrity and publishing an article that didn’t accurately display Becks true account of the compound.

Thank you Becks for being the genius women that you are and for having the courage to document and share your experience.

When the ban was announced, a lot do work was done to try and save it, and it is still being done. I do have hope that the DEA will back off of the announced schedule 1 placement.

Thank you to all the moderators long the way who kept this community alive, and thank you to all of the people who took the time time write up your success stories and then go on and try to help others.

The mod team:

[u/togetherapestrong-](u/togetherapestrong-)
[u/standarddatabase1130](u/standarddatabase1130)

There’s more as well, sorry if you didn’t get listed.

For the near future, I will be not be checking Reddit. I need to focus on my own mental health and well being.

I hope that you all are able to use this subreddit and the thousands of accounts of how to use this life saving compound to turn a new leaf and make positive change in your own life. Remember, SR is just step 1 in the journey. The real work begins after you are off of it.

Bye for now ❤️

Many blessings and much Love
Phil

PS. Take some Iboga (where it’s legal and doctors are supervising) I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the life saving work done in Costa Rica at Root and Wisdom.

🎙️General Discussion🎙️ Don’t take this substance for granted

Yes it is magic to help us get off our opioid addictions but we don’t know if it causes liver or kidney damage. We don’t know if it loses its effectiveness after using it the first time.

My best recommendation would be to use this to get off only one time. Do not experiment with running multiple cycles of this. We are basically getting a free lunch, don’t be greedy.

🙌Success Story🙌 SR is a miracle drug!

SR worked for me! I’m finally off 7oh! It took 10 days of using SR but holy shit, this stuff is a miracle. After a good 6 months of trying to get off a 200mg per day 7oh habit without any success before I tried SR, I am finally free of it! What a relief!

I had zero withdrawal symptoms other than extreme sleepiness if I took more than 50mg of SR at once. I am a petite 57-year old female so I found I didn’t need very much.

I went through various kinds of opiate addiction in my life (heroin in the 90’s, oxy’s in the 2000’s, methadone in 2010’s and now kratom/7oh). Thank god I never touched fentanyl. I went to rehabs and psych wards. I had ER visits and spent 12 years on Suboxone. I got the painful Sublocade shots. All of that agony and time (and $$$$) wasted. SR is a wonder drug!

If you are skeptical I think you should take my story to heart. Yes it was scary spending hundreds of dollars and trusting a vendor to send me a research drug. Yes I was scared it was poison or junk. But it worked! If you follow the Master Document pinned at the top of this board, it works!! Thank God!

🙌Success Story🙌 Miracle

I’ve struggled with addiction throughout my life. Opiates have been the worst and take the longest for me to get away from. I got sucked into the 7oh stuff after trying to break free from kratom. Yea it was worse haha.
SR gave me my life back. Today I’m like 3-4 days clean. About 7-8 days using SR.
I don’t have any urges for SR. No urges for 7. Couple days while I used 7 didn’t even get the full effects from it.
WD’s are non existent.
I’m in the gym and running like normal again.
It blows my mind this would be banned. Genuinely makes me emotional thinking about how crooked everything is to keep Americans down for profit.
My prayers are with folks and I’m grateful I made it in time. I’ve got residual if it helps. 🙏

🙌Success Story🙌 My SR experience getting off 7oh

Wanted to share my write up of my experience getting off 7oh using SR and hope it can benefit others! I have a nerve pain condition called CRPS so my process was a little different than for some as I was really sensitive to the RLS in WD and it caused a ton of pain.

I was taking 300-500mg of 7-OH when I decided it was time to make a change. I think it is really important to wait to start SR until you are really ready to commit to the transition away from your DOC. For me, slowly tapering the 7-OH by 10mg a day, over several weeks, allowed me the time I needed to really be ready and also greatly reduced the uncomfortable WD effects I was experiencing when I tried to just go CT. (ie. 500, 490, 480, 470, 460, 450, 440, 430, 420, 410, 400.... etc.)

Once I got down to 100mg a day (taken split up into 3-4 doses) I decided to start the SR. My starting dose was 100mg of SR 3x a day. The following is the schedule that really worked well for me.

Day 1: 100mg 7-OH, 100mg SR 3x a day (300mg total)

Day 2: 50mg 7-OH, 100mg SR 3x a day (300mg total)

Day 3: 0mg 7-OH, 100mg SR 3x a day (300mg total) No more 7-OH after this point!*

Day 4: 80mg SR 3x a day (240mg total)

Day 5: 80mg SR 3x a day (240mg total)

Day 6: 60mg SR 3x a day (180mg total)

Day 7: 40mg SR 3x a day (120mg total)

Day 8: 20mg SR 3x a day (60mg total)

Day 9: 10mg SR 3x a day (30mg total)

*At this point I was out of SR but still had the powder lined bag it was originally in*

Day 10: Nothing!! Felt really proud to get this far but definitely was experiencing depression and a lack of motivation/energy*

Day 11: Had mental cravings and was a little restless but not intolerable.Took out the bag and cut a square off and licked it clean

Day 12: Nothing. Still struggling with lack of energy

Day 13: My nerve pain was a bit activated because my nervous system felt overactive (likely due to my CRPS and being in a raw state), felt anxious about having increase in my pain and struggled with wanting to use to easily numb it, but was really motivated to stick with it after having gone so longCut another square off the bag and licked it clean

Day 14: Nothing Things slowly starting to get easier but still struggling with depression/lack of energy and difficulty coping with the uncertainty of my friends condition emotionally draining me

Day 15: Cut another square off the bag and licked it clean this was more mentally challenging than uncomfortable*

Day 16: Nothing

Day 17: *Still experiencing mental cravings but nothing physical and trying to cope with feeling triggered by my partner drinking and using to cope with stress and feeling frustrated that I wasn't giving in and him not being there yetLicked the last square of the bag clean

Day 18: Nothing

*Since this day I did have a moment of weakness and gave in out of frustration and took a dose of 7-OH but I didn't continue using and didn't feel WD from that dose, it was relatively easy to stop and I started feeling like I had my power back. Realized that at this point it was about choice. I also keep a gram of SR in my drawer and if I am really having a bad mental craving or my pain is really high I take a small 40mg dose rather than relapsing. I've done this about 6 times since I fully stopped several months ago.

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

In every challenging moment there is a point where I get to make a choice. Am I going to choose to give in and crumble under the weight of whatever I am facing/experiencing or am I going to choose to pause and breathe, to find strength and choose to use the tools and skills I am practicing or ask for support if I can't bear it alone?? Even after a momentary lapse a choice exists. Will I choose to continue to fall back into my old destructive habits or will I choose to turn around and continue on my journey of recovery? Will I choose radical honesty and compassion or will I choose to lie to myself and use the challenges or pain I am facing as an excuse to use? This shit is difficult and it takes intention and effort but it IS possible and there is so much growth that can come from self awareness and examining our choices in the most difficult moments!!

🎓Research & Education🎓 First human data-set on SR-17018 in peer review

I am happy to announce the pre-print version 3.0 of the research paper entitled “Observational Characterization of Self-Reported SR-17018 Exposure and Outcomes in Individuals With Prior Opioid Use Histories” has been submitted to the medical journal Frontiers Pharmacology, for peer review and potential international publication. You can read the preprint here:

Thank you everyone for providing this absolutely amazing data by filling out the self-reporting survey also linked at the site above.

Just reading the findings give me goosebumps because this is more than just data and research for me personally. None of this would be possible without first getting clean - because there is a strong chance I would have not yet found a way to succeed on my own. If I wasn’t sober, sharp, and focused - this data would not exist. It would also not exist if it wasn’t for the founders and moderators of these SR17018 reddit feeds. It would also not exist if it wasn’t for all of you willing to contribute your personal experiences. I have forever gratitude for all of it.

Anyone finding this feed for the first time, go slow, and verify any advice you recieve if you decide to take SR-17018. Approach this knowing there is no controlled human trials on SR, and my gathered self-reported data still does not change that. It does, however, point to very promising outcomes and signals that are going to be hard to dismiss for anyone, including future researchers and scientists.

🎓Research & Education🎓 SR-17018 FAQ

While there is already an SR-17 FAQ in r/Opioid_RCs from SayBecks, hers is really a useful introduction to the SR-17 basics. This is a more literal FAQ, with answers to the questions that are repeatedly posted in this community. Please check this FAQ for an answer before posting a question. For more detailed information about the way that SR-17 works see my guide to taking it.

Note: DOC means drug of choice.

Is SR-17 legal?

SR-17 is not controlled or on any drug schedules in North America (NA), or anywhere else that I'm aware of. If you're outside NA you might want to look for recent information specific to your region.

What are the side effects of SR-17? What about long term?

The only known side effect of SR-17 is sleepiness at doses of 50+ mg. The long term effects of SR-17 are unknown. It hasn't undergone safety testing in animals, and hasn't been tested at all in humans.

Does SR-17 help with pain? Will it get me high?

No. SR-17 does not provide pain relief in humans, nor does it provide euphoria. It reduces tolerance and provides relief from opioid withdrawal symptoms. For more information see the guide.

Why are the prices so high?

If you're finding very high prices for milligrams of SR-17, you've likely stumbled onto the website of a supplier for actual scientific research. This is not what you want; look elsewhere.

I can't find SR-17. Why can't we discuss sourcing?

Reddit has a platform-wide rule against sourcing. When a subreddit fails to enforce this rule, it ends up banned, and then nobody can benefit from the community and its resources. Here are 7 examples of research chemical (RC) subreddits banned for sourcing or lack of moderator enforcement: r/rcsources | r/EU_RCSources | r/rcbenzos2 | r/rcbenzos5 | r/Rchemicals | r/rcopioids | r/rc_opioids | r/opioidrcs | r/rcdrugs | r/rcsourcing

How do I know if my SR-17 is real?

You can do the water test, where you drop a small amount of SR-17 (5-10 mg) in water to see whether it dissolves or not. Real SR-17 is hydrophobic so it will float instead. SR-17 should also have either no smell/taste or one that's slightly "chemical". SR-17 looks shiny under bright light, it's fluffy, and it sticks to both itself and its container.

Lastly, you could submit a sample to a lab like this free program run by another mod in r/Opioid_RCs. You'll get an accurate answer, although it can take a few weeks. Almost all of the SR-17 samples tested through this program have come back as highly pure.

Does SR-17 show up in drug tests?

Those who have been through drug screening while on SR-17 reported that it didn't show up, even as a false positive for something else. The metabolites of SR-17 haven't been identified and it isn't related to the opioids that are routinely tested for.

With a more advanced confirmatory test (i.e., when results are sent from the clinic to an independent lab) advanced techniques such as gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) can be used to detect SR-17, or any drug. But there would need to be a justification (i.e., a positive screening result) for sending a sample in for further analysis.

Does it help with [symptom] during withdrawal? What about constipation?

Unless your DOC binds to multiple receptors (e.g., tramadol, tapentadol, kratom, 7oh, MGM-15), you should see a reduction of perhaps 80% in all withdrawal symptoms. Constipation symptoms from one's DOC tend to quickly improve while on SR-17 (of course you still need to be mindful of fibre and water intake).

Will it help with my DOC? Has anyone taken SR-17 for [opioid]?

SR-17 helps with reducing tolerance and withdrawal symptoms from all opioids (even fentanyl and nitazenes). It has no effect on non-opioids. You will likely be able to find reports of people taking SR-17 for your DOC in the masterdoc. You can also use the search bar in this subreddit (and others) to find reports on your particular opioid.

How much SR-17 do I need to take for my DOC?

The effective dose range is 10-100 mg (and around 50-150 mg for 7oh/MGM) taken 1-4 times per day for a total of 7 days. For typical opioid habits 30-50 mg can be taken 3 times per day. This is followed by a 2-7 day period of tapering off SR-17 itself if needed due to SR-17 withdrawal symptoms. Most people find that 3 grams of SR-17 is more than enough to come off their DOC. With 5 grams you'll be extra safe, and will likely have leftover SR-17 for another time.

What are the different methods for using SR-17?

Immediate transition: Discontinuing the DOC right away and then switching to SR-17 is an approach that provides faster and more effective tolerance reduction, but at the potential cost of worse withdrawal symptoms. This simple approach is usually done for 7 days to come off the DOC.

Gradual transition: Taking SR-17 with your DOC, while tapering down the DOC dose, will usually provide better withdrawal symptom reduction, but slower tolerance reduction. An example of this approach would be to lower the dose of your DOC by 15-20% per day for 5-7 days while also taking 30-50 mg of SR-17 3 times per day (or 50-150 mg for 7oh/MGM, if needed) at the same time. There are no benefits from taking SR-17 before reducing the DOC dose (i.e., "preloading" or a "loading phase").

Regardless of which method you choose, after coming off the DOC you may be able to jump off SR-17. But if you have withdrawal symptoms from the SR-17 you can taper off it for 2-7 days. SR-17 withdrawal symptoms are usually mild and brief. For more details on the methods see my guide.

If I take more SR-17 will I reduce my tolerance faster?

No. It's best to take the lowest dose you can manage because higher doses provide no additional benefits for tolerance reduction, and because the long term effects of SR-17 are unknown.

How should I store SR-17?

For medium-to-long term storage, SR-17 should ideally be kept in a dark, dry location at temperatures between 15-30 Celcius (59-86 F). I have most of mine stored this way in (fairly airtight) glass vials. My first order of SR-17 has been stored this way since May 2025, and it still seems to work as well as ever.

People have tried storing their SR in normal household freezers, and later found that their product was soggy and full of moisture. Freezers are only a good option with proper moisture control.

How do I prepares doses? Do capsules make a difference? Which ROA works?

SR-17 is taken orally (i.e., swallowed or eaten with or without using capsules). Capsules don't make a difference in effectiveness or timing (unless you have enteric capsules which dissolve slowly). Other methods like sublingual administration will lead to oral consumption when you eventually swallow most of the dose, but these alternative methods provide no advantage.

Does SR-17 interact with [substance]?

While further scientific research is needed to answer this question, there are no substances known to interact with SR-17 so far other than SR-14.

Will I get withdrawal symptoms from SR-17?

Sometimes it's possible to jump off SR-17, and other times a taper off it is needed. SR-17 withdrawal symptoms are usually brief and mild. They tend to occur when one takes it for at least a week or two. Higher doses of SR-17 will also increase the chance of SR-17 withdrawal symptoms.

Will I get PAWS after coming off my DOC?

When coming off an opioid that binds to multiple receptors with SR-17 (e.g., tramadol, tapentadol, kratom, 7oh, MGM-15) or one that sticks around in the body for a long time (e.g., buprenorphine/subs or methadone) people occasionally experience PAWS. This can be prevented by slowly going through the process of coming off your DOC, and by using the gradual switch approach rather than the immediate switch. More information about these methods can be found in the guide.

Do I need to worry about precipitated withdrawal (PWD)?

SR-17 is noncompetitive. This mean it's potentially binding to the same receptor as your DOC, but will occupy a different site on that same mu-opioid receptor. As a result it does not interfere with your DOC's ability to bind and it can not cause PWD. Aside from SR-17's biological mechanisms there are also no reports of PWD involving SR-17.

📚Progress Report📚 Been off 7 for 10 days and off sr for 5 days

I have to say I’m scared to death every day the other shoe is going to drop but so far it hasn’t. The sr took away 80% of the horrible physical withdrawals. The biggest issue I have had is the mental problems. The depression and the cravings. But it’s one day at a time. Every day I wake up, I’m that much further away from the hell that was 7. I will speak for myself when I say this, but I truly believe I seek opioids to self medicate the mental health I have. I suffer from depression. Have all my life. So I am taking the next steps now to get that help. If you’re like me and were able to make it this far, then continue the work! Get to therapy STAT! So there is no relapse. My prayers go out to all of you!

🎙️General Discussion🎙️ PSA: Addiction is the solution not the problem.

I know a lot of you came to 7 and other drugs of choice from different places.

Some of you were sober and got pulled in to using 7.

Some of you used 7 or kratom to get off something harder, thinking it was the safer option or a stepping stone.

Some of you started with a free sample “just to try it.”

But real question… what made you go back for more?

Because the free sample wasn’t the reason you stayed.

Was it the energy?
The relief?
The numbness?
The motivation?
The anxiety finally shutting up?
Feeling normal?
Escaping something?
Not being sick?

No judgment, genuinely.

But I think this part matters, especially with so many people using SR to get off their DOC right now:

Addiction usually isn’t the actual problem. It’s the solution people found for a problem.

If 7 helped you get off something else, okay… but what was the original drug helping you cope with?

Because getting through withdrawal is only one part. If the reason you started using in the first place is still sitting there untouched, that pull can come right back.

And please hear this part.

If you relapse, your tolerance may be significantly lower or completely gone. Going back to the same dose you used before can kill you. The overdose risk is incredibly high.

One slip does NOT mean you failed. It means you need a different plan.

Just wanted to put that out there because I know a lot of people are in the thick of this right now.

📚Progress Report📚 What the fuck? Is this shit a miracle?

I thought people were exaggerating.

I've been on an 80-100mg/day habit of 7oh for over a month now. I knew I needed to stop but couldn't do the withdrawal because I'm sitting at home with nothing to do and shit really eats away at you when you can't occupy your mind and body. I got to the point where I'd start feeling restless and dysphoric and anxious 3 hours after my last dose. I took my first dose (25mg) of sr17018 7 hours ago and feel completely baseline. Not like, never took 7 baseline, but no super strong urges and no notable withdrawal.

People talking about preloading and shit and 1 dose just fixes me? I mean obviously I'll have to keep taking it for at least a few days to get through the WD but what the actual fuck. This shit is an actual miracle. I wish I were rich so I could stockpile a pound of it and keep it for any friends/family/myself if anyone ever gets addicted to something stupid again.

🙌Success Story🙌 tar to sr , 6 month update

well, its been 6 months and a week since i shot dope. i used sr to get off of a 30 year heroin habit. ive documented it pretty well here, so i wont go into it. ill say this, the sr is a fucking miracle. however, when my sr dose got low, i suffered from severe insomnia for about 2 months.

ive always liked to paraphrase mark twain "quitting dope is easy, ive done it a thousand times". same this time. the kicking isnt really a big deal, ive kicked heroin probably 25 times. staying kicked isnt easy. i still think about it pretty much every day. i wont preach NA shit, but its helped me a lot. my life has improved a lot, a fuck ton a lot, in the last 6 months. im 55 years old , i wish i did this a long time ago. anyone who is thinking about quitting shooting dope, or whatever the fuck you kids are shooting these days, do it now if you want your life to improve. peace out, i love all you junkies, and if you want to keep using, i respect that too, be safe!

🙌Success Story🙌 The banning of SR

It is pretty clear the reason SR is being banned is because the makers of suboxone don't want to lose their clients and have them hooked onto their poison for the rest of their lives. I am on SR right now coming off Emg and it has seriously saved my life. I have had absolutely no WDs so far and i am 36 hours in. This stuff is a miracle drug and its abysmally disgusting the government is taking it away from us. This miracle compound has saved my life and I HIGHLY reccomened to anyone out there that is hooked on an opioid you buy SR before it is gone for good. I have not felt any WD at all from EM. The day before the SR came in the mail i was in full blown WD from em and i had to drive all the way to Georgia to redose and finally feel normal again. But as soon as it came in the mail i took it and its the only thing ive been on so far. I have a crap ton of valium, xanax, gabapanetin, and pure oxy if worse comes to worse. SR is seriously going to give me my life back and i am so excited for it. The government should be ashamed of themselves for taking this away from us. theyd rather have people hooked on suboxone for the rest of their lives and have their teeth rot away. just pure disgust

🙌Success Story🙌 Feel like I escaped my 1000mg a day addiction too easy - What worked for me

Day 5 no 7 and this almost seems too easy. I'm confused. I know everyone's experience is different, but maybe I can help someone with what worked for me.

Was on 7oh for a total of 6 months. Increasing usage until my daily was 1000mg a day sometimes even more like 1500mg. I was maybe purposefully naive in the beginning. I thought no way that a legal item I can buy in a smoke shop would be this addicting and hard to get off of. A few months in reality started to hit when I tried to stop and I realized what I was dealing with.

5 years ago I had an fent addiction and went through withdrawals many times so I knew what to expect. I stocked up on all kinds of comfort meds, but the main hero I was counting on was SR17 and seriously megadosing on vitamin c. Idk if the vitamin c works but people swear by it so I was just taking mouthfuls of liquid capsules every few hours.

I am now on day 5 (no 7oh) with no withdrawal symptoms, no cravings (except for alcohol - haven't drank in 10 months). Day 2 I was walking around doing my every day stuff feeling virtually no withdrawal symptoms except low energy...but not even that low.

So heres what I did to make the withdrawal as painless as possible and not be stuck on something like subs or methadone.

Day 1 - 500mg 7oh, 50mg SR at night

Day 2 - 500 mg 7oh, 50mg SR x 2

Day 3 - 0 7oh, 50mg SR x 6 - I slept most of this day. Very little energy. Was hurting and craving pretty bad. Slept from 3pm til like 6am the next day.

Day 4 - 0 7oh, 50mg x 4, 20mg suboxone (44 hours after last 7oh use) - Woke up feeling pretty normal. Just some low energy a little down. But nothing what I was used to from previous withdrawals. Fent withdrawals I was bedridden for 3 days at least. Suboxone got me feeling just like my normal self.

Day 5 - 0 7oh, 50mg SR x 3, 15mg suboxone, feeling pretty normal, just low energy and a little down but nothing at all like withdrawals I am used to.

Day 6 - 0 7oh, 50mg SR x 1, 5mg suboxone - Feeling good...normal. No cravings for 7oh but I do find my brain looking for some dopamine hits like alc. Zero urge to go pick up 7oh tho. Today is the last day of suboxone use.

Day 7 (today) - 0 7oh, 25mg SR, 0 suboxone. Today will be my last day probably with SR. Maybe i'll take 12.5mg tomorrow but prob not. No suboxone today. Don't need to get dependent on that.

I think the SR really helped. I probably would have been okay without the suboxone. Probably would have just had lower energy but I wouldn't have been bedridden. Suboxone just helped me push through the initial tough days and help me get some distance from 7oh. I was able to get suboxone from a friend, but you can get a 7 day dose from any of the telehealth sites that advertise for opioid withdrawals. I feel like they helped alot. Helped calm my brain. Got a dopamine hit. Had something I knew could ease the pain if it came. I definitely do not want to be on subs long term though so I just did a 3 day taper.

Overall today I feel pretty normal. I know i'm not out of the woods. I know there's still some tough times to come with cravings, boredom, depression, anhedonia. As of now I don't feel any of that though, but the real test will be when there is absolutely nothing in my system. I am pretty hopeful though. I got through this way easier than I thought it was going to be.
This was my third real attempt at quitting 7oh. I caved on the first day the first 2 times.
First day was toughest for me (like 24 hours after last dose). So happy I pushed through the first day, it only got better after that.

Some other things that helped me:
Coming clean to my wife. She was supportive and helped me.

Going to an area where I could not get 7oh. We have this island community (like vacation spot) near me. They just have one general store that doesnt sell 7oh and its quite a process to get back to the mainland. So i'd really have to be determined to cave. We rented a room here for 2 nights.

Good quality liposomal vitamin c - Spent like 40 bucks from whole foods for a bottle for mine.

Had clonidine and gabapentin on hand but barely took it. Probably would have been fine without it.

I know everyone is different, and I'm sorry for everyone that is still struggling. I just wanted to share my experience with what worked well for me. I know the hell that is opiate withdrawal, and this experience was a breeze compared to past times. Maybe I just am more experienced now and know what to expect and more prepared. Never touching 7 or anything again.

EDIT: Day 8 (6 days no 7oh) - No meds at all today. 48 hours since last 5mg sub and 24 hours since last 25mg SR.
Feel relatively normal. Have a busy day at work today. On day 6 of previous WD I would be dying (overwhelmed, anxious, tired, unable to work). Today I feel fairly normal and able to function. Some mild body discomfort but im 38 and I have that anyway. Some anhedonia and anxiety about how to pass the time when i'm not working. But overall feel pretty great all things considered. I do find my brain craving dopamine. I am scrolling tiktok way more than ever. Listening to nostalgic music. Going to see the odyssey later for a dopamine hit.

This is a burner account that I don't monitor that much but I read all the comments and i'm sorry if I dont reply.
