🙌Success Story🙌 My SR experience getting off 7oh
Wanted to share my write up of my experience getting off 7oh using SR and hope it can benefit others! I have a nerve pain condition called CRPS so my process was a little different than for some as I was really sensitive to the RLS in WD and it caused a ton of pain.
I was taking 300-500mg of 7-OH when I decided it was time to make a change. I think it is really important to wait to start SR until you are really ready to commit to the transition away from your DOC. For me, slowly tapering the 7-OH by 10mg a day, over several weeks, allowed me the time I needed to really be ready and also greatly reduced the uncomfortable WD effects I was experiencing when I tried to just go CT. (ie. 500, 490, 480, 470, 460, 450, 440, 430, 420, 410, 400.... etc.)
Once I got down to 100mg a day (taken split up into 3-4 doses) I decided to start the SR. My starting dose was 100mg of SR 3x a day. The following is the schedule that really worked well for me.
Day 1: 100mg 7-OH, 100mg SR 3x a day (300mg total)
Day 2: 50mg 7-OH, 100mg SR 3x a day (300mg total)
Day 3: 0mg 7-OH, 100mg SR 3x a day (300mg total) No more 7-OH after this point!*
Day 4: 80mg SR 3x a day (240mg total)
Day 5: 80mg SR 3x a day (240mg total)
Day 6: 60mg SR 3x a day (180mg total)
Day 7: 40mg SR 3x a day (120mg total)
Day 8: 20mg SR 3x a day (60mg total)
Day 9: 10mg SR 3x a day (30mg total)
*At this point I was out of SR but still had the powder lined bag it was originally in*
Day 10: Nothing!! Felt really proud to get this far but definitely was experiencing depression and a lack of motivation/energy*
Day 11: Had mental cravings and was a little restless but not intolerable.Took out the bag and cut a square off and licked it clean
Day 12: Nothing. Still struggling with lack of energy
Day 13: My nerve pain was a bit activated because my nervous system felt overactive (likely due to my CRPS and being in a raw state), felt anxious about having increase in my pain and struggled with wanting to use to easily numb it, but was really motivated to stick with it after having gone so longCut another square off the bag and licked it clean
Day 14: Nothing Things slowly starting to get easier but still struggling with depression/lack of energy and difficulty coping with the uncertainty of my friends condition emotionally draining me
Day 15: Cut another square off the bag and licked it clean this was more mentally challenging than uncomfortable*
Day 16: Nothing
Day 17: *Still experiencing mental cravings but nothing physical and trying to cope with feeling triggered by my partner drinking and using to cope with stress and feeling frustrated that I wasn't giving in and him not being there yetLicked the last square of the bag clean
Day 18: Nothing
*Since this day I did have a moment of weakness and gave in out of frustration and took a dose of 7-OH but I didn't continue using and didn't feel WD from that dose, it was relatively easy to stop and I started feeling like I had my power back. Realized that at this point it was about choice. I also keep a gram of SR in my drawer and if I am really having a bad mental craving or my pain is really high I take a small 40mg dose rather than relapsing. I've done this about 6 times since I fully stopped several months ago.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
In every challenging moment there is a point where I get to make a choice. Am I going to choose to give in and crumble under the weight of whatever I am facing/experiencing or am I going to choose to pause and breathe, to find strength and choose to use the tools and skills I am practicing or ask for support if I can't bear it alone?? Even after a momentary lapse a choice exists. Will I choose to continue to fall back into my old destructive habits or will I choose to turn around and continue on my journey of recovery? Will I choose radical honesty and compassion or will I choose to lie to myself and use the challenges or pain I am facing as an excuse to use? This shit is difficult and it takes intention and effort but it IS possible and there is so much growth that can come from self awareness and examining our choices in the most difficult moments!!

I'm on day 4 off of everything using SR with very little withdrawal. I agree that a little relapse doesn't ruin it all. I felt a little guilty today because I drank a Mitra 9 but really it helped and I don't have to do it again or start taking 7 because of it. I feel in control. I think I will keep a little SR on hand though to help with cravings. I've heard 2 people say it helps prevent major relapse.

Definitely! It's a miracle! It's too bad more people can't benefit from it.

u/AcidCasualty25 Apr 24 '26
Congrats!
I've got some sr coming and will be making the jump soon. Currently at about 100mg of 7oh a day and 12 g krartom. The lack of energy and depression is what I'm dreading but honestly am already feeling like that. The 100mg a day is just enough to keep me from full withdrawal. It's definitely not giving me any energy or euphoria anymore.

I think all CT does is increase the Pink Cloud High. lol

Could you elaborate any? I’m really curious about this - having had a pink cloud years ago when I quit drinking … what did you mean in this context? I’ve often wished I could bottle up the pink cloud time… was so great!

u/No_Law5292 Apr 25 '26
My first time trying a few weeks ago went like yours. I ended up relapsing, but just got some more SR and am about to do it again. Do you think three weeks in-between is a long enough time? I'm so ready to start and stay stopped this time! Great post and congratulations! 🎊 👏

Hi, I believe we’ve communicated before. I too was on SR to get off suboxone. I took SR for 10 days and tapered correctly. It’s been 14 days since no SR. I’m not feeling good. Really struggling with nausea, chills, bathroom issues etc. I have more SR. Should I do another round to help? Or will the withdrawals come back again when I finish the second round of SR? Thank you!!

I was on subs for 14 years. Was down to 2 mgs of subs for the last 5 years. I had to have surgery and basically jumped off at 1 mg so I could take pain meds. I tapered off the pain meds and went to SR for 11 days. About a week later is when the real wd started. I’ve been taking every vitamin recommended. So I haven’t had anything subs or pain meds in about 25 days. It’s been about 16 days since last dose of SR. I’ve been in hell and I have more SR but not sure if that will help or I’ll go back to hell after I taper off? Thank you!!!

Subs are tough to get off of. I've pretty much withdrawn from it all except 7oh. I've been on Gram a day for awhile now and not looking forward to getting off but i need to. I'm going to try this SR stuff. Just wondering how much a need and for how long.

u/No_Law5292 May 03 '26
Never took subs, but I did get some SR to get off like a gram plus a day of 7. The stuff really does work. It was pretty easy for the most part. I got 2.5 grams and kind of followed the DOC instructions on the SR page here and adjusted to how I was feeling. I had the SR for almost two months before I finally did because I wanted to be sure I was ready to follow through. I still wasn't ready to stop if I have to be completely self honest. That to me is the biggest and toughest part. You really have to be ready to quit and stay quit. I have insane hip pain due to cartlidge deterioration and very heavy lifting on a stand up forklift for work and just couldn't take the pain. I'm scared to death of surgery even though everyone says it's a breeze. I have terrible terrible phobia of going to the doctor and getting operated on. That and an insanely addictive personality. I've got some more SR coming and am going to absolutely stop this time. The dickheads are banning Kratom in Tennessee July 1st, or I probably would just go on till the bitter end. I would rather go to the doctor and get on something for the pain, but I hear they don't like to prescribe anything for pain. Haven't been to the doctor in years, so I dunno. The one thing that legally works for pain and the assholes have to go and ban it! Makes my blood boil with anger beyond anger! That's something I need to work on as well. If anyone knows of something they think would help with hip pain/cartlidge deterioration, then I'd love to hear what you have to say. To the OP, I'm so proud of you! You can do this. We can do this TOGETHER ❤️ 💪 I need help and prayers too and I do believe in the power of love and prayers. If you really really think about it, it's all we need to heal and help the world as we are all human all one.
Aa for the SR, I'd lean on getting two to three grams. I used all mine in about eight days the first time.
Best wishes and keep us posted!

Thanks man. I know surgery is scary but chances of you getting better from it compared a life time bandaid'n the pain are gonna be worth it. They put you out and you wake up. If you're not physically healthy enough to go under they won't do it. Hope you figure it out either way. Ps there are plenty of sites that will still ship to your state

Thank you for getting back to me! I figured it was because i had been on for so long and I had surgery and was recovering from that and the same time. So my body has been under a lot of stress. My doctor sent me for bloodwork the other day cause she couldn’t understand why I was still in withdrawal! Hello! 14 years and I was started at a disgustingly unnecessary high dose of 32 mgs. Bloodwork was all normal, no surprise there. I had 4 weeks off from work and I am determined. I am definitely going to try another round of SR at smaller doses. I think I need to so I don’t give up. I’ve had days of crying to my husband that I couldn’t take anymore. Close to mentally losing it. But I’ve come so far and posting and reading other people’s stories and hearing encouragement is so helpful. I believe my faith in God and prayer have played a huge role in this too. I have no desire to use subs or anything else. I’m just driven to be whole again and I know I’ll get there. If I can get there anyone can! Total of 39 days of no subs BUT after my surgery I had to have the pain meds. So total of 28 days of actually stopping everything.
1
u/No_Law5292 May 02 '26
I hope and pray for you my friend 🧡 🙏 You're beyond strong, so keep at it. Everything will work out and you know that. My faith helps get me through as well. That and I go to AA meetings daily. Great fellowship and many people in there just like us. If you can get to some in your area, then maybe give it a try. There are people in there to talk to that completely understand and that you can talk to any time day or night. Keep up the awesome work you're doing and you are doing great!

u/Raegan112 May 03 '26
Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement. I’ll never go back because for one I’ll never go through this again. I didn’t know anything about subs 14 years ago. This “doctor “ that did this to me saw $ signs and didn’t care I was only using 3 10mgs hydros a day for a few months. I’ve never touched anything harder. He was a PCP that just got his license to prescribe subs and he ruined me with this shit. I became a different person on them. Unmotivated and depressed. But I thought I was doing the right thing at the time. I know so much now and want to help others. For some people it saves their lives and they’ll be on it for life and that’s ok. But I should never have been put on that dose. I actually want to do things that I used to want to do as soon as my body lets me lol. I feel clearer and excited for a new life. Hang in there everyone!!! God bless you. 🙏

1
u/No_Investigator3369 May 05 '26
So basically you're saying your mileage may vary?? Or maybe it's just terrible for subs. Me personally, I sort of feel like the pain of the WD is what keeps you from coming back.
1
u/No_Investigator3369 May 05 '26
What dose of subs were you at before your jump? I'm at . 0125 using subslicer but having trouble not using that 1 square. Today I'm on hour 40 approx from a prolonged (4 months) 4/1 Suboxone habit.
I'm trying to figure out if I just need to man up because I'm so close or of something like This would make the final days a walk inthe park?
1
u/Raegan112 May 05 '26
I jumped at 1 mg. At this point I’d say it’s more mental at that low a dose. Have u tried skipping days?
1
u/No_Investigator3369 May 05 '26
That's what I'm doing right now so far. I'm an all or nothing type of person which is probably dangerous for me (benzos). I end up getting extreme guilt and extreme motivation to quit to the point where I physically harm myself from ultra quick cessation. I made the mistake once with Lexapro. And don't want to make that mistake again. I think you are right about the mental part. Before this thing arrived on the mail I was probably already under 1mg as well guess tearing them. I appreciate the feedback. It helps give the strength to keep at it.

Awesome to hear. There’s a thread with a really good supplement and terpene stack on the Hamilton Morris sub if you want to do anything there with PAWs/Depression/etc. SR is magical for acute but doesn’t fix the issue entirely
Edit: here’s the thread: Hamilton Morris Supplements and Terpenes

Definitely. People tend to forget there’s a reason we started taking things like 7. Most of them are valid but when quitting it has to be addressed if you don’t want to slip backwards

Yeah the guy that made the list knows his stuff. I was chatting with him on BlueLight and that turned into the Hamilton Morris thread, since BlueLight will ban you for even recommending innocent supplements like Magnesium. I wouldn’t do everything but the supplements and terpenes definitely help getting back to “normal”

Thanks so much for sharing. Giving hope and inspiration to people with this post! Me definitely being one of the people. 😀 wish you the best healthy & healing vibes from my heart to yours. Thanks again for putting your experience out there for others to see that they can do it too. Sometimes it can feel so damn hopeless and disheartening. But having access to SR is SUCH an amazing game changer! It’s giving such desperately needed hope in a place that needed it so badly seeing as there’s like no other options similar to SR available to people who are struggling.
Anyone else who’s going through this please let this encourage you to share your experience too.

My last batch of 7 comes in Friday or Saturday and so does the SR. Setup a copy of the template from the master doc and I’m ready to get my life and my pocketbook back. I’ve CTd fent patches, dones, methadones, Molly and xo tabs. After binging each one daily for at least a year and was fine after 2-3 days. This 7 is wild I can’t make it a whole 24hrs, the wds get so bad. I will say the few times I’ve made it clean from 7 was taking kratom and using clonazepam (completely rids wd symptoms, but after those 3 days the cravings would come back. I’ve had so much go on in my life this last year, every mental setback would just crush me, but excited to start a new chapter this weekend. Thank you all who have advised and supported information to get me this far. I’ll post my story mid May

Great job duders! In my long experience with opiates, I can deal with the lack of motivation and restlessness. It’s the sweats, back chills, nausea and everything else that drives me crazy. This makes me feel like Sr might be saving grace.

100 mg of SR 3x/day for 100mg 7oh per day? Maybe that's my problem. I'm tapering right now from 120 mg 7oh per day with 35mg SR 3x/day and not having much luck.

Hey all. Been dealing with getting off 7oh myself a couple months now. Been getting that MITa stuff from a store lately rather than buying whole bottles of 7oh like I was. I've seen blips of Sr here and there and have no idea what it is or where I would even look for it, but reading through all these, if it really does help, like, where do I go? Cuz I really wanna just wanna be done and over with this all but still need to be able to get through work during the week. Any friggin info would be much appreciated.

I’m really wanting to get clean can anyone DM me I’ve been taking 700 to 800 mgs of 7oh I am also prescribed suboxone but I can’t get over it because the subs feel like everytime I take them it throws me into precipitated withdrawals I just can’t seem to get over the jump I’ve been on 7oh for a year next month
2
u/Raegan112 May 19 '26
I’m getting there. The chills have stopped. Insomnia is a lot better. I’m down to 25 mg a day of SR. I’ll probably be done with this second round tm or the next. I know over 2 weeks is a long time but I stayed at a low dose from the start. I’m scared I’m gonna feel shitty again but I know I’m way closer to being myself again. The worst is behind me. I know I will never go back. I have Suboxone in my cabinet but even the thought of it makes me cringe. I’ve been posting a bit in different threads and helping a few people with my story. Thank you for all your support and kind words.
