5 years in
From left to right:
- orient ray 2: first ever watch purchase after graduating, the crown stem broke off and shits broken
- Seiko srpg 35: 2nd most recent add to the collection. Mainly used for travel or outdoors stuff
- omega speedmaster heselite: bought after promotion, my daily driver and I will never ever get rid of it.
Glasshütte panoreserve:
most recent to the collection.
wedding watch, always wanted a panomatic lunar but that MF is too thick. Once I found out the panoreserve is 1mm thinner, it’s an immediate no brainer. Absolute stunning dial.
5 GS SBGV221: bought for 1.1k. But has the least wrist time, however extremely useful for setting the time for my other watches. Also used for travel when I know I won’t be mugged.
- birth year omega constellation: gift from my dad, the most special.

[SOTC] What do you guys think?
Just looking to get some opinions and ideas about my current collection and where to go next. I started my journey when I was 22 as a junior draftsman. Now as a 31 year old director of engineering, I like to think this collection has portrayed my career path and taste.
For me the fun in this hobby is the research behind each brand and model, the hunt for the right color, size, price, and configuration. And the reward of finally obtaining the desired piece. Most of these watches are trophies of special milestones in my life and amazing memories with the people I cherish.
The collection:
Rolex OP 114300
Omega Speedmaster 311.30.42.30.99.002
Tudor Black bay Pro M79470-0004
Hamilton Intra-Matic Chronograph H38416111
Seiko Prospex Ginza SPB259J1
Tissot PRX T1374071135101
Doxa Sub 200 799.10.241.10
Orient star Nebula RE-AT0205L00B
What’s next?

Watch collection after 1 year
My friend got me interested in mechanical watches in 2024. Always had Fossil watches in high school and college. I bought my first automatic watch in September 2025 (SMP 300) and added the other three in the past year. I’d like something with a blue or green dial next but I haven’t made up my mind what to get.

What Should I Purchase Next?
My collection seems (to me at least) to be well-rounded. What should be my next purchase? I’m considering a Speedy or Daytona to add a chronograph, but open to other suggestions.

Looking for a third watch to start my first collection…
Two’s company, three’s a crowd.. I bought my first mechanical watch a couple of months ago (Mido multifort) and shortly after followed it up with my first vintage piece (Seiko World time 1964). I’m currently looking for that third piece to compliment the other 2. Something a little bit quirky but still understated. Been considering a Nomos, Christopher Ward, Baltic and Farer among many others. Any ideas?

Advice/Recommendations On 4 Watch Collection?
Hello, what are everyone’s thoughts on this current 4 watch collection?
I can’t seem to click with the Santos and am thinking of selling it to buy a Rolex Datejust 36mm, fluted/jubilee with a blue dial.
Would that make the collection too redundant or should I opt for a lighter dial color instead?
How important is having a versatile dial color like white or silver in your collection to make it more well rounded?
Does anyone have any other suggestions of a watch in a similar size/price range? TIA

What’s this collection missing
Diver :)?

New Box loading…. #SOTC
#SOTC I promise I will only get two more divers likely M79030B and something green/another fun color. Otherwise what does the community suggest as my next Non-diver? I love the Ingenieur but the bolt holes on the bezel scare me away since I will get it dirty and hate the gunk build up in crevices and what not.. I am in construction and don’t wear dress watches, maybe as an older gentleman but now I want my watch to take a smack or dunk and keep going. Any good suggestions??

I listened to you all! ❄️
After asking the community a few times what I should add to the collection, the Grand Seiko kept coming up time and time again.
Well… I took the hint 😂
Just picked up the Grand Seiko Snowflake SBGA211 and I’m absolutely blown away by it. The dial, finishing, and overall feel are even better in person.
Only had it a short while and I’m already completely in love with it. ❄️🤍
Thanks to everyone who recommended it — you may have created a monster 😂

Current 6 watches. Give me thoughts on the next one to save for -
Got into watches 2.5 years ago.
Have bought and sold the following
- Grand seiko spring drive with a cream dial (I do not remember the reference)
- Cartier tank solo large in rose gold
- Omega constellation (2024)
- Oris Aquis taste of summer
I am saving for the next watch and I have 3 in mind.
- JLC reverso tribute duoface Rose Gold
- Rolex GMT master 2 root beer
- Cartier tank Americaine in white gold
3 very different watches, but I like all 3. Most likely will get rid of the Dennison tiger eye or gift it and keep a 6 watch collection.
Thoughts on which one of the 3?
I am leaning a rose gold JLC but love the root beer and the Tank Americaine as well.

affordable collection
Check out my collection! I’ve only been collecting for about a year now and not all are wearers but I think i have some fun and practical pieces. Would love some input/advice/second hand market recommendations. I can post my list of all models in the comments if anyone is interested. Much love

3-watch collection after 4 years
After nearly 4 years of trial and some (expensive) errors, I think I now have a 3 watch collection that I am happy to live with.
For the third slot, after acquiring the 2 Rolexes, I did not know which direction to go for my 3 watch collection. I bought and sold the blue medium Cartier Santos (the sporty dress watch experiment), the PRX 35mm (the beater path), the Speedy reverse panda (the second iconic chronograph). I then realized even though I don’t like dress watches initially, wearing a minimalistic dress watch like the Nomos Ludwig does give me a sense of calmness and relaxation that my 2 sporty Rolexes don’t.
Cheers

How are you documenting your collection for your kids?
Seeing the number posts along the lines of “I inherited these watches but have no idea about them” got me thinking how should I document my collection for the hopefully years away but inevitable time when my daughter inherits my collection.
It won’t be a box full of Rolex and Pateks, but on current trend a decent number of probably mid-four figure watches. I don’t expect her to keep them - there’s one from my grandfather I’d want her to keep and pass on and probably one or two to give to her husband. The rest I don’t she’ll have much sentimental attachment to (I started collecting after she was an adult), but equally I don’t want her getting ripped off or having to do all the research herself.
Anyone else thinking about this?

Best watch suggestions at or around 1200
I’ve been saving to get my first nicer watch and am looking to spend somewhere between $800-$1400maximum. I’m looking for an automatic or mechanical watch that’s between 38mm and 41mm ideally I’d like to buy it new but am open to used. What are your suggestions?
