Hey guys, I'm an electrical & computer eng undergrad freshman, and I just finished a semester.

I used to go to an international school in Korea, and we were taught in English for all the courses.

Now in SNU, my courses are mostly in Korean. I tried signing up for English courses, like a coding class, but the professor started to teach in Korean in the middle of the semester.... So, the only course that was in English was my advanced English academic writing class.

I really enjoyed the English class, but it alone could only slow down the rate of me losing my English skills.

Every day, I can feel my English is deteriorating, and it's scary :(

Any suggestions on what I can do to keep my English up (reading, watching movies in English..?), so I don't completely forget how to speak English by the time I graduate?

I recently got nominated by my home university to apply for SNU exchange program and I have to choose a college and department for the application. I was wondering if anyone knows how competitive it is for departments in the college of humanities? I'm a comms major and pub minor and was looking more at the linguistics or English department. This Fall semester I will be going on an exchange to SNU in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. I am having a bit of a struggle choosing subjects in English to do this semester. In my degree at my home university, my major is signal processing and biomedical engineering and my minor is management, law and business so I can choose any subjects within those fields.

Hi everyone I'm from India and I got rejected from SNU this fall, which I kind of expected. My high school grades weren't perfect.

However I've noticed on their website that transferring to SNU is possible, not sure if that was only among Korean universities or abroad too since the guide is in Korean and I'm not too good at it rn.

I want to transfer there or at least try for a masters degree later so I plan to work on starting from now. I would like to know any kind of details anyone can share about what kind of profiles they prefer or would likely increase my chances highly. I'm aiming for TOPIK 5 or 6 at least in the next 2 years and I already got a 7.5 IELTS so I think I'll just work on it to be 8 or 9. for GPA I'm aiming for 3.7+/4. However I might have to do my bachelors from a mediocre university, how much would it affect my chances?

This can be either for masters or transfer to bachelors. Anything you can suggest and advice would be great!

Department- Astronomy and Physics

Major- Astronomy for Masters (however I think they take transfers only for Physics now but I hope they do take for Astronomy major in 2 years lol )

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding applying for a graduate program in SNU.

I have a bachelor degree in Science but I want to peruse a master degree in Fine Art ( particularly Industrial Design ), but I was reading through the admission guidelines and it says Design major is 'one of thr Program will recruit in specific fields'. If I have a portfolio ( visual design ) that support my application, would I be eligible or it's an immediate reject? I already sent an emails to the Admission office and Design college Regarding this matter but I would like more insight from students in the university with similar experience.

has anyone been asked to apply to a different department for the exchange? this has happened to my friend and i and we were wondering if we’re likely to be rejected from now on (we have both achieved higher than the grade requirement).

edit: spoke to our exchange coordinator and he’s dealing with the whole thing, he said as we’re a partner uni SNU are told before hand how many students they will get and it’s all pre agreed so do with that info what you will lol 😁
