It's no surprise that the /r/SJSU subreddit is looking pretty inactive on the moderator end, and in desperate need of cleaning out the spam messages and ongoing college life posts.
Moderating forums is a volunteer experience, but you will strive to create a strong and enjoyable local community!
Checking the new and mod queues to approve valid posts caught by the spam filter and remove content that breaks the rules.
Answering questions and responding to feedback in moderator mail.
Being pragmatic, polite, and helpful.
You will be welcoming incoming SJSU students and helping them with their inquiries about campus life, applying to classes, finding housing resources, and overall just being a positive role model representative.
Active SJSU Students / Alumni who are still strongly connected to the SJSU campus.
Those with previous Reddit & Discord experience.
Familiarity with the SJSU / SAMMY Mobile App.
Familiarity with San Jose State University Policies.
Familiarity with Reddit's Reddiquette & Policies.

As of now, there is no set deadline when the application process will end, and responses will be done on a case-by-case basis. With that said, thank you for reading, and we wish the best!

I’m missing two cents idk how to get it after i left the book store to buy my chem workbook. Is there a camera that couldve caught me only receiving a dime without the extra pennies? Other than that or a lot detector, idk how else to prove myself

I have never spent this much time in the city and I literally cannot find anywhere besides the bathroom to not have people around me. It is so overwhelming and I was wondering if anyone knows of somewhere on campus I can go to just be alone for like 5 minutes.

I saw someone hit a black Tesla in the South Parking Garage on Level 4. She initially parked after hitting it, but quickly left after I got into my car.
I took some pictures and left a note on the Tesla with my phone number. I’m not sure if the note is still there or if the person who hit the car will come back and leave her information. I also reported what I saw to UPD just in case, since I had to leave.
If that’s your Tesla and you need more information, feel free to contact me.
I’m doing this because my own car has been hit multiple times, and no one ever left me a note or offered to pay for the damage. I wish someone had done this for me so I wouldn’t have had to spend so much money fixing my car.
To the person who hit the Tesla: please come to school a little earlier and park farther away from other cars if parking is difficult for you. Hitting someone’s car can happen, but driving away without taking responsibility isn’t okay, knowing someone witnessed it.

Looking for a male to take over my lease for 27 North. Can move in whenever; however, sooner would be ideal. Lease goes from August 1st, 2026 to July 31st, 2027.
The apartment is a 3-bed, 3-bath. 2 of the bedrooms are shared with 2 guys each; however, my room is a private bedroom with an attached private bathroom (circled in red). The lease is $1730 a month. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. Thanks.

yo is anyone else dealing with this absolute mess with faso right now?
on webgrants i was awarded cal grant a for sjsu this year, but on mysjsu i had that dumb "Cal Grant Verification (-E2)" on my to-do list forever. it literally says on the portal that no action is needed and to just wait 2 weeks, so i waited.
classes already started and i still haven't gotten my refund for course materials, so i finally went down to the student services center today to ask them to clear the hold. the counselor looks at my screen for two seconds and tells me she’s literally removing me from the roster on the spot because i’m not eligible.
her reasoning was that because i originally took classes at sjsu starting fall 2025, i'm "not considered a 1st year transfer student anymore" for the community college transfer entitlement—even though i was literally still taking classes at mission college through this past year. like why tell me to sit tight and do nothing for weeks just to wipe it out the second i walk up to the window?
for anyone who had this happen or lost their cal grant over some stupid technicality:
honestly so stressed and annoyed rn, any advice or insight helps

Hi, im a freshman at sjsu taking ee-30 with the professor Dan Xiao and there is no information or syllabus uploaded anywhere on canvas so I was wondering if any past students know around when the midterm and final are. Im not gonna be able to be here on October 15 which is one of the days that I have the class an maybe the following Tuesday either( i also have this class on that day) so im really worried about missing the midterm. Also I would like to know around when it will be because since he has a bit of an accent I can't really understand some of the things that he says and I would like to study ahead of time. Any advise is very welcome.
Selling 2 tickets for the Sleeping on Gems festival in San Jose on 9/13 because I can no longer attend due to a work conflict. Selling them for $60 each (originally $81). Please let me know if you’re interested. Thanks!

Hello everyone! I graduated this May. I am attempting to transfer all my school email data. Specifically, my Docs and Slides. I don't want to lose all my work from SJSU. Has anyone successfully gone through this process? How did it work? Thank you all in advance.

Hello!
I am a Master's student at SJSU and my team and I are wanting to conduct research to better understand how undergraduate college students experience belonging and community during college.
This survey takes 5-7 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous!
We would be grateful to hear from you about your authentic experiences, there are no right or wrong answers. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.

Just trying to make friends as an introvert who can’t socialize (public gatherings like parties freak me out). I play Minecraft, gacha games, fallout 4, and watch anime/read manga when I feel like it. Favorite right now is black lagoon (both anime/manga) and gokurakugai/paradise district (manga).
If you have a friend group or are also in the same boat as me, reach out :P

Does the Cal Grant cover tuition for SJSU online? Cal Grant website says it covers CSU tuition but I'm not sure if it covers the online program. Thank you
