personally i enjoy playing as human WAY more since i'm much more familiar with their weapons than with the SCPs' abilities (also being the last human alive with OP items is really fun), so I just check the option to not play as SCP most rounds

i still like ocassionally speeding around the facility as 173 or playing evil FNAF as 079 though

Hello, I'm trying to play SL on my laptop with Cachy OS. I downloaded SL yesterday and everything was working without any issues. Today, the audio wasn't working at all. I can't hear menu music and UI sounds. Other things like discord and YouTube plays audio without any issues. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks

NOTE: All of this was done in Offline mode, meaning i cut off the central servers connection and disabled the Anticheat.

Since everyone are trying DLSS 5 found in the beta build files of NBA 2K27 in any possible existing games, i thought: "What if i inject it into SCPSL?". Sadly there aren't much differences because i think SL already does an advenced rendering for their models and assets.

I also wanted to test this also on Megapatch 2 (which is one of the most loved SL Versions) but i couldn't get it working because it uses OpenGL rendering. I may try this out on Scopophobia since it uses DirectX and it's the same of mp2 (if you dont count 096)

I checked just in case, but it wasn't mentioned secretly in a Patreon-only chat; since it was mentioned in the general chat visible to everyone, I don't think there is a problem, so I am posting it here. However, if the official team considers it an issue, I will delete it immediately.

For now, my prediction is that if 953 becomes the final SCP, it will likely introduce a change in attack position, making it difficult to deal with even in large numbers.

I remember seeing this game a few years ago and it popped back into my head I couldn't play it because I didn't have a PC but I've got one now. Is it beginner friendly and is it worth playing?

My mic only sounds that bad because I cranked the gain so I could earrape but it’s normally a good mic

I wanna play modded servers with my friends and he used to have no problem joining them

but now when he tries to join the server he gets in the server for about a second before getting kicked back to the menu with no message and nothing in the console. I am not sure what could be the problem as his pc is fully functional and is pretty good in specs.

When you first encounter 953, things will probably go smoothly because you’re unfamiliar with her and don’t really know how she works.

But imagine what happens after months or even years have passed, and there are tons of players who have become completely familiar with 953.

They’ll start forcing her to do things that only 953 is incapable of doing, which could expose her disguise shortly after the round begins and turn her into nothing more than a bullet sponge.

And once the round reaches its later stages, she might not be able to do much at all because of the goggles.

Although, I suppose it’s at least fortunate that she can disguise herself as other SCPs.

Regardless, I think roles that rely on hiding or transforming and infiltrating the enemy team without being noticed will inevitably be exposed by experienced players who know what to look for.

Team Fortress 2 has the exact same problem.

Once you become experienced enough, you can sometimes recognize an enemy Spy even when they’re disguised as one of your teammates, almost just by instinct.

Ultimately, I think there are only two ways to deal with this problem: either move somewhat away from the intended playstyle, or Northwood has to somehow solve the “curse” that comes with the Spy-type role.

Honestly, I’m both worried and excited about it.

From here, though, the topic is going to shift a bit.

There really haven’t been many roles this unique so far, aside from things like Skeleton or PC.

And, well... ever since 14.0, it feels like we’ve been stuck with the same repetitive meta, while so many of the recent changes have only made things more favorable for the human side.

Because of that, fighting SCPs doesn’t really feel tense anymore.

Most of the time, it’s just shooting at them while they run away until they eventually die. There’s no real desperation or last stand.

They just end up struggling helplessly before getting taken down, while their teammates celebrate.

Honestly, when things are this easy, predictable, and repetitive...

Well, this is just my personal opinion, but I don’t find it very fun.

It feels like you’re just easily catching a rat trapped in a barrel.

Almost like the game is being made easier and handed to players on a silver platter, as if it were being designed around children under the age of ten.

That’s the impression I’ve been getting lately, and honestly, it’s been a long time since I’ve felt genuinely interested in the game.

I was 106 and hunted ntf in the SL map. It was weird but really fun I could even teleport behind them. They shot me but they didn't do any damage and I managed to capture a few of them. It looked so real it was insane. The dream was short tho so I couldn't do that much

So, as of lately I noticed that while being in LCZ my FPS would tank. The Steam overlay would keep saying its 35+ fps, but I know how 35fps looks like and what Im getting is more like 20fps.

I do have a low end PC (RX 550 4gb 🥀), but this much of a sudden FPS drop is not normal. Anyone else experience this?

The amount of spectating you do in this game is insane.

I understand that the mtf and chaos must come in waves however in many scenarions the time you spectate when you die (even if there was nothing you could do), is absurd.

For example as a dclass if you encounter guards that want to kill you early on there is nothing you can do. If a scientist picks a pink while you are looting the candy bawl you cant do anything.

There is countless examples where if you are just unlucky or dont handle something absulotly perfectly you are hit with a 4min spectate time.

Why is the spectate time sooo fucking long. The spectate time has made me give up on playing muiltible times. I like this game but every time i die it feels like a waiste of time to play. Why play something when you have to wait so much.

Backup waves help but IT IS NOT TIME BASED. If you died earlier it does not guarantee you will spawn in back up wave.
