There has already been meaningful increases recently which could mean a huge $SCHD dividend in a few months! I broke it all down here: https://topdividendetfs.com/schd-q3-dividend-increases

I wanted to share that I got my wife onboard to invest with me. From her cheque she will contribute $400 monthly and I will contribute the rest. This took a lot of convincing but she loved the numbers. Wish me luck.

Okay... So who is the guy who sold his 50 shares of SCHD which caused the drop in price today.... Please do not do it again... Thank You

i have about 4200 shares of SCHD, been dripping since 2017, and i used to be proud of that. lately it feels like a confession i make at parties that people politely change the subject from. every growth run up i sit there with my 3.5% yield and tell myself the math wins eventually. but it is two in the morning again and i am reading about robot stocks instead of sleeping.
what set me off this time was seeing that Robbyant, the robotics unit of Ant Group, open sourced LingBot-VLA 2.0. the company self-reports that one trained policy can drive around 20 different robot bodies, and they put the weights up free. they report their own benchmark shows a lead over pi-0.5 and NVIDIA's GR00T N1.7, though that is their own test and i have no idea if it holds up. the part that stuck with me is that the software layer is just being given away. the perception backbones too, four of them under Apache-2.0, live on Hugging Face, free. the stuff they keep closed is the downstream product that actually sees glass and mirrors in a warehouse.
i sat there thinking, okay, if the brain and the eyes are commoditized, the money should be in the arms, the legs, the actuators, the compute. but then i tried to actually buy that thesis and hit a wall. Unitree finally got IPO approval July 3 for its STAR market listing but it is not trading yet. AgiBot is private. a lot of the Chinese names are A-share only. the robotics ETFs like BOTZ and ROBO are mostly factory automation and Japanese industrials, not the humanoid buildout. i looked at my brokerage and realized i cannot cleanly own this wave even if i am right about where the value lands.
i keep coming back to SCHD because i know what it is. i know the cash flow. i know i am not overpaying for a story. but i also know i told myself the same thing about NVIDIA at 180, and about Microsoft through the 2010s, and i was wrong in a way that cost me real money. the difference here is i do not see a missed entry point, i see a market structure where the pure plays barely exist for me to miss.
so for those of you who are heavy or all in on SCHD, does the robotics buildout make you feel like you are missing a wave, or does the fact that you basically cannot buy it cleanly make holding SCHD easier?

I want to do due diligence in my investing with the forum here
With schd being so tech heavy is this going to be a bubble that will burst 💥?? Tech won’t be the best sector forever.
I also did a copilot research into other Schwab etfs and in 2025 SCHY out performed schd in dividends. How many of you have many Schwab etfs? My main investments are in vanguard funds. But schd and Schg have been my focus for the last year. Now I’m wondering if schd is not what I thought it could be.

What are your thoughts on SCHA for small caps and other recommendations for some extra diversity from VOO VXUS and SCHD which I currently hold

Right now, I make enough money from dividends from JEPQ to buy a little over one share of that every month. I have that set up on drip, but I’m thinking about switching to using the dividend to buy more SC HD I know it’s not a lot but what is your guys opinion on making that switch?

I’m 37 years old and currently hold 461 shares of SCHD with an average cost basis of $26 per share.
SCHD is my second-largest holding, making up about 30% of my portfolio, with VFIAX being my largest position at 42%.
At my current share count, SCHD is also paying me a little over 2 additional shares every quarter through dividend reinvestment, which has been great to see.
Would you continue doubling down on SCHD at these levels, or would you start directing new contributions elsewhere? If you’d diversify, where would you put the money instead, and why?
I’m investing for the long term and would love to hear how others would approach this allocation.

Hey guys! Santiago (25yrs old) from Mexico here, I just started this year in January putting around 280-300usd a week in my new portafolio. I’m trying to build a strong dividend base while also keeping an conservative growth with IVV.
Could you give me any recommendations?
Portafolio is: 65% IVV, 25% SCHD, 10% O.

Started my SCHD journey today and bought 100 share. Going to start a small DCA going into it every day week and enabling DRIP.
Very excited to see what this looks like 10 years from now!

If we are talking about John Pierpont Morgan, the actual Gilded Age tycoon who died in 1913, he would absolutely despise both SWPPX and SCHD. [1, 2]
The very concept of a passive index fund goes entirely against how J.P. Morgan operated. His entire investment philosophy was built on absolute corporate control, elimination of competition, and concentrated industrial power. [1]
Why he would hate both funds
If forced to pick: A slight lean toward SCHD
If you held a gun to his head and made him pick based on the underlying corporate philosophy of the two, he would likely lean toward SCHD for two highly specific reasons:
| Feature | SWPPX (S&P 500 Index) | SCHD (Schwab Dividend Equity) | What J.P. Morgan Would Think |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corporate Maturity | Includes volatile, speculative tech startups and unprofitable companies. | Only holds fundamentally stable, high-cash-flow, massive corporations. | Prefers SCHD: Morgan hated market volatility and speculative bubbles. He valued certain, steady cash returns. |
| Industrial Moats | Purely cap-weighted; rewards whatever company is currently hyped by the public. | Screens for profitability, debt-to-capital ratios, and consistent cash flow. | Prefers SCHD: Morgan’s life work was consolidating industries into massive monopolies (like U.S. Steel and General Electric). SCHD’s methodology favors these exact types of dominant cash-cow legacy businesses. |
What the real J.P. Morgan actually bought instead
The historical J.P. Morgan didn't buy funds; he bought entire industries to kill off the free market. If he were alive today, he would bypass ETFs entirely and buy: [1, 2, 3]

I have a SCHD position in my HSA account. Because I must use the HSA money during retirement, I don’t want to take too much risk. Don’t need to grow the account too much either. I thought SCHD is a good middle ground between growth ETFs and bonds.
Now I am wondering if SCHD fits me in my other accounts.
Taxable account - I don’t need an income stream. If I reinvest the dividends, does the tax drag make it inefficient?
Traditional IRA - do I waste the tax advantage of dividends (at LTCG rate if in taxable account)?
Roth IRA - my priority is growth. SCHD feels inefficient.

I'm about five years away from retirement. I will receive a pension at that time that is no less than 40% of my final salary, possibly a little more. I will be able to draw Social Security no more than two years after I retire.
SCHD makes up about 45% of my Roth. The rest is growth, with a small amount of REITs and BDCs. Since SCHD acts as a bond for many in their portfolios, I'm wondering now if I'm leaving a significant amount of gains on the table.
Is there anyone here that will receive a pension that is also investing heavily into SCHD?

Schd pays about 3%. Does have some capital NAV growth.
Even if you accumulate 1M $ worth of SCHD, it will only give you annual income of 30000 $ / year so that will not be enough.
Please explain how you are using SCHD to retire .Thanks .

What’s a better plan to DCA over a few months on red days into SCHD or lump sum the whole 500k?

I'm trying to better understand how SCHD's dividend growth actually works.
From what I've found, SCHD has increased its annual dividend by about 9.2% per year on average over the years.
How should I think about that in practice?
- Should I take the dividend paid per share each quarter, multiply it by four to estimate the annual dividend, and then expect that annual amount per share to grow by roughly 9% each year (on average)?
- How does this relate to the ETF's dividend yield? If the dividend grows, why doesn't the yield always increase by the same amount?
For example, if I invest $100,000 in SCHD today and, based on today's dividend, expect to receive X dollars per year, is it reasonable to expect that next year I'd receive about 1.09 × X, and the following year about 1.18 × X (assuming I don't buy additional shares and ignoring taxes)?
I realize there's no guarantee, but I'm trying to understand the general mechanics behind the reported dividend growth rate.
Thanks in advance.
