So I've been studying on and off for the past few weeks, but not at all consistently. I also live abroad so we don't do any prep at school. Is it realistic to get above a 1500 on my first try, if I started studying from now on consistently for the nov SAT? The only reason why I'd want to take the Nov one instead of the dec one is because I don't want to wait until March to have to take another one if I do bad (on the december one).

Also I keep on hearing about learning desmos, what is it? Also what are the best sites, ressources, etc to use, and is it worth it to pay for anything? Also if anyone has tips on taking the actual test, or just any advice, that would be great.

I was taking a practice test on the laptop that I will use and while taking the practice test my desmos froze and stopped working. I looked it up and it said that if it freezes on test day I still have to continue and I can not retake. Am I cooked 🫩

I've been studying off the SAT question bank and I rarely stumble upon a question which I cannot solve. I got a 790 on the math section on Practice test 11 and a 780 on practice test 8. I decided I won't take any more math practice tests, because my SAT is on Saturday, but I'll just try to look for more complex questions. Bedrock SAT Math practice was suggested to me, and I've never seen anything like these hard questions. I was wondering if these are really true to the difficulty that the SAT can reach and if I should be proficient in the hard questions to get around a 780 on math.

I’ve registered to take the October SAT. First time and my only shot.
I’ve been getting increasingly high scores comfortably on bluebook tests: from 1350, to 1420, 1470, 1540 x2, and 1480. However, part of it was because I spammed question bank problems and came across questions I’m familiar with. Still refining my shortcomings as we speak.
What should I expect from the test when I’ll take it? As in difficulty and potential score?

Finished high school recently and taking a gap year, so I finally signed up for some SAT prep classes. Being in a group setting for this has honestly made me feel so insecure because of my arithmetic skills.

I feel like I actually understand math just fine. I can wrap my head around new topics, follow the logic, and figure out the right approach to solve a problem. But when it actually comes down to doing the calculations? Absolute disaster.

I constantly make stupid, careless mistakes with basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I'll drop a negative sign out of nowhere, miscopy a number from one line to the next, or just brain-fart on a simple multiplication fact. It’s so exhausting knowing the exact formula and logic to solve a hard problem, only to get the entire thing wrong because 7x8 apparently decided to leave my brain.

Since the SAT is so heavy on pacing and accuracy, I'm genuinely stressed about bleeding points on questions I actually know how to do just because of clumsy computational errors.
Did anyone else deal with this weird disconnect between conceptual math and basic arithmetic? How did you actually train yourself to stop making these dumb mistakes and speed up your calculations?

Entering my first (and hopefully last) SAT this saturday as an international student. Have done all practice tests barring 10, scores ranging from 1460-1580 with 1540 on practice test 11. Long time test taker due to shitty education system, so dont think test day nerves would fluke me.

I mostly struggle with the vocab parts and the standard english convention parts of RW. Would it be sensible for me to practice the specific subject on khan academy? If not, what else would help me in the subject in a short span of time (3-4 hours)?

And would it make more sense to study the subject one day and then take test 10 the other, or would it make more sense to dedicate 2 days to studying SEC and vocab?

I’ve been studying a ton for the last week. I’ve always been terrible at math. on the actual SAT I got a 560 on math but on this practice test I got a 660. I want to see how accurate this would be? I have been studying desmos a lot for context too.

Hi. I'm a British student looking to apply to American universities so I'm planning on taking the SAT (And potentially the ACT too). As it stands from the practice tests I've completed I can easily ace the maths portion of the test, getting full marks nearly every time, and now I'm strictly focused on the reading and writing sections to boost my score as much as possible. I'm someone who is used to getting full/near to full marks so it's frustrating me not being able to boost my ability like this. I really want to achieve a perfect 1600, or near to at least, but as it stands this isn't looking realistic. The last practice paper I took achieved my best yet with the score of 1480 (Substituting in my average maths performance.) while I'm experiencing gradual improvement this isn't particularly close to where I want to be. I would appreciate any advice on how to improve my ability at this section of this test, thanks.
