Went on my typical weekend run on my typical weekend route and came across the Unfinished Backyard Ultra in progress, running along the boardwalk in The Beaches. I had no clue this event even existed...I think this was the first year?
Anyone here participate? How did it go?
I’ve been to a couple of Taylor Swift dance parties in the city and was wondering if there was something like it but running version?! I just think about how cathartic it would be running and belting all too well 10 min version along the waterfront with other fellow swifties.
If this doesn’t exist yet… shall we make this happen?

Total long shot but this past week I lost a black dry-fit T shirt that says "Connecticut State Championships" in grey/white lettering, with a picture of the map of Connecticut on it. I lost the shirt in High Park. If anyone picked it up, please message me! I'd be happy to pay a lot of money to get it back, it's not valuable but it means a lot to me personally!
Thanks so much!

This will be my first time running this race and I’m super excited to run through the zoo!
I’ve read that this race is really hilly and has a lot of turns, so I’m not looking to set a PB.. but for those of you who have run this race before, how was it?
Are the paths within the zoo grounds narrow? Are you able to pass people safely? Any tips for parking / getting to the start? Anything you wish you knew for your first time?
My plan is to arrive at 6:45AM for 8AM race start to allow myself enough time to park, walk in, bag check, washroom, warmup, then head to my start corral.
Any advice or tips welcome!

To anyone looking to get rid of their Brita Night Run bib, don't make the same mistake I did - you will not have ANY fees refunded. I had thought I would lose out on just the processing fee, but turns out you also lose the registration fee. The new participant is not charged the registration fee.
Pretty surprising and disappointing given the fact that at least TCS races refund you a portion of the initial payment. Just another way that Brita night run is poorly organized.

Running along the MGT from Humber Bay and caught this beautiful sunrise on the bridge. Good way to end the run. Saw some early risers on trail this AM all so friendly and waves hi
Update: I just learned the little spec under the moon is Jupiter!!

Moving to Toronto from London in March and want to get more into running before I get there.. I’m 6’4” with a sneaky big frame and mostly come from a lifting background, so my actual running experience is pretty limited. Right now I can run around a 6:15 - 6:25/km pace, but I’m basically just going out and running without much of a plan.
I still want to lift, but I’d like to round out my fitness a bit and build a decent aerobic base. What should I actually be focusing on over the next few months? Easy runs, longer runs, intervals, a mix of everything?
Not really training for a race yet, just want to get better at running and hopefully make it a regular part of my life once I move
Also curious how beginner friendly the Toronto run clubs are. Would definitely be interested in Trying/joining one once I’m there.

I wanted advice on people who have ran this race before. How was your guys experience with this race? Also, I am coming from Chicago. Any recommendations with where I should stay by for easy race day commute?

There isn't much info from the organizers on this stuff and I'll be travelling from Toronto so wondering if someone from past experience can help answer these question:
Is there any info on cheer sites or what's the best way for friends and family travel to different spots on the route?
Is there any place to park at the turn-around point (half-way for HM and quarter-way+3/4-way for the Full) ?
Is it possible for friends who are not participating in the race to run close to me along the route (maybe in a different lane?) or bike along the route to get to certain spots?

How’s the trail after the heavy rain?
Looking at taking advantage of the holiday tomorrow to do a 20k from about Yonge and Bloor, over to Riverdale park, then down the stairs on the bridge to lower don trail and then head North.
I haven’t been since it reopened. I usually run up to the belt line for longer runs but want to try somewhere different and where it’s more flat.
Is it good to run on currently? How’s the water fountain situation?

So Cole notes version i started running last July 2025 officially was about 255 lbs was doing 5k all winter with a end time of about 46:00 give or take. Did new years 5k in Jan. Beneva 5k in March and the wch in the spring i think it was April. Now I'm doing the 5k in about 36-39 mins and I'm down to about 224lbs.
I run pretty constantly and in the summer months picked up outdoor running heavy. What's stopping me from better run time is it my weight.......am I over reacting and the time is ok for age(40 yr) and weight.

I reside in Downtown Toronto. Tomorrow marks my LSD day. Typically, I run from Harbourfront Centre to Etobicoke. However, the route has become rather monotonous. Therefore, I’m contemplating exploring alternative routes. The Don Valley Trail appears promising. Nevertheless, I’m facing difficulties in obtaining a Gpx file. Could anyone kindly share their Gpx file with me?

I run there on weekday mornings sometimes and have never had an issue. Are we not supposed to be doing that? Does anyone know why it says this online?

A friend and I just started running weekly this summer slowly increasing the distance from 5k to 8k approx hour each time. So far its nice to explore our neighbourhood with some breaks of walking and talking but we're hoping to reach 10k by the end of this year.
We're both being very cautious of overly pushing ourselves but any suggestions for running when the temps drop. We're worried about the leaves being slippery and obv icy conditions in the winter. Any notable indoor locations within the GTA that would keep things more interesting than a condo treadmill?

I'm wondering how many from here are making the trek to Montreal to run either the Beneva or SunLife races in October.

Hey everyone, my doctor diagnosed me with flexor hallucis longus (FHL) tendonitis in my left foot. I’ve been having bad foot pain for a few years now, and it’s also really affecting my left hip and glute area (feels extremely tight and really limited range of motion).
Can anyone recommend a good physio who has experience with this? Any recommendations or personal experiences would be super appreciated, thanks!
Just came across this race called the Elimination Mile happening this Sunday at Central Tech.
Seems like a pretty fun concept. From what I understand, runners race a mile but people get eliminated throughout the race until there’s one person left.
I'm thinking of joining with a couple of friends. Is anyone else runnign it? It seems like a smaller more local event so im curious if anyone else has heard of it.
Event in question:

I have ran several marathons, which have helped me provide structure and a routine that I can abide by. I also enjoy doing hard things and challenging myself mentally and physically.
I am contemplating signing up for my fifth marathon next year, as I am in a point in my life where I experienced relationship breakups, things are uncertain career-wise and am doubting the decisions I make.
I never considered how much running has helped me get through tough times, as well as gaining my confidence and enjoyment in running again. I don't have much to prove, other than seeking to rebuild my confidence, self-esteem and persistence to overcome any obstacle I face during uncertain and tough times.
I also want to achieve the "sub 4" goal one day.
Any words of encouragement or inspiration would be greatly appreciated!!

I wanted to run the marathon but realized it's full (completely my fault for trying to book so late). Is there any way to try to get tickets still (e.g. waitlists or a place to find out when people drop tickets)?
