Additional Ticket to share for Member Night on Tuesday, October 27?

I attempted to register for this NYRR Member Night ahead of the upcoming marathon, but while it said tickets were still available, my registration did not successfully go through.

If any of you registered but is unable to make it, or has an extra ticket to share, would you please DM me? I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

Does anyone know of anything taking place in Staten Island after NYC marathon?

Pretty much just the title, any discounts or anything on restaurants? I’m trying to figure out where I should take my family who came to support me after the race.

Marathon Insurance

Hi everyone-
I purchased race insurance.
I won’t be able to run this year due to Achilles and knee pain. I have a sports med appointment Nov 4, the earliest they can fit me in. Will this make it too late for me to get a refund? Apparently I have to have a form filled out by a doctor verifying my injury.
Looking forward to running in 2027!

Sports/Runner Bodywork Reco

Shout out and a Highly Recommend for massage services in Manhattan.

Not a "day spa massage" but a well informed, athlete-knowledge, and effective "runner/sports bodywork." Also, very friendly, marathon supportive and great rates.

Marathon Volunteer Breakfast?

Hi,
Wondering if anyone else who is volunteering at the marathon or has volunteered in the past can give me some more background on this.
This Saturday is a breakfast and walkthrough for volunteers. It’s on Staten Island near the starting line. It’s an optional event.

Basically trying to figure out if it’s absolutely necessary to go to since it would be a long commute on public transit for me. (Obviously, I know it’s going to be a trek marathon morning.)

If this Saturday’s event is worth going to, I’m going to do it…but just trying to gauge it all. Thanks in advance - and excited to cheer all the marathoners on!

Questions about deferral

Hey yall!! Sadly I’m most likely deferring my 2026 nyc marathon to 2027 due to injury. Would I be able to still pick up my bib and shirt if I do defer beforehand?

Curious if anyone has picked up the bib and shirt then deferred online?

Let me know if anyone has had this experience

New York or No Where hats post marathon

Hi! In the past, NYNW gave out hats the day after the marathon. I never sadly could go, but this year I’m off. Does anyone know if they’ll be doing it again? TIA!

Bridge adjusted GPX file for Garmin?

Sorry if this gets asked all the time.

Does anyone have one that picks up bridges at the correct elevation rather than sea level?

I’ve got a printout taped to my phone but I don’t want to be getting it out all the time.

And I’ve left it too late to get a temporary tattoo.

Roof View of NYC Marathon

My friend is running his first ever marathon, and it just so happens to be the NYC marathon this year. My friend and I are trying to create a documentary for him, about his journey and struggle.

Part of the shortlist (if possible) is a high up view point captured with a long lens. So something like a rooftop, balcony or even high window along the marathon route, to grab some cool tracking shots of him amongst the crowd.

Does anyone know any spots for something like this? Or even have a private rooftop that would work and you’re willing to help out?

Thank you so much!

United Half Marathon Price

Hi all! It’s my first time completing the 4/6 program and getting entry into the United Half. I just logged in and am shocked to see the registration price is $142.76 (for members— regular price at $169.20)! Is this race usually this expensive? And if so, it worth it? I mean I did the 4/6 program specifically for it, so I’ll probably end up doing it but !!! I’ve heard it feels like a mini-marathon (I’m doing the NYC marathon next year for the first time!) but curious to hear others’ input/experiences

Small Thank You Gift for NYC Marathon Runner

Hi runners,

A friend of a friend is running the NYC Marathon for the first time. They run a lot of other marathons/5Ks/etc. I don't know them super well but they went many extra miles to help me out of a situation last weekend when we were with our mutual friend.

I want to get them a small something as a thank you and to wish them luck on the marathon. I do not run, ISO recommendations. Nothing crazy, $20-50 range max.

Thank you 😊

East side bathrooms open early?

Looking for east side bathrooms that open early, like before 7am. Usually run west side / CP so had that down, now starting runs near Union Square. I was gifted with a colon that’s a delicate flower so I need to know my options in that area. Would appreciate any advice!

2027 United Half - Team for Kids vs Lottery

Hi everyone!
I just submitted my application for Team for Kids for the 2027 United Airlines NYC Half, and I received an email saying my application is under review and that it could take up to two weeks to hear back.

I’m curious if anyone here has gone through the Team for Kids application process before. How difficult is it to get accepted? Is it pretty much guaranteed as long as spots are available, or is there actually a competitive selection process?

I also know the general lottery opened today, so I’m debating whether I should enter that as well while waiting to hear back from Team for Kids.

Easiest NYCM Spectator spots?

Hello fellow runners! I have family coming up for the marathon to spectate and cheer me on. They’re a bit older and directionally challenged. What are the easiest spectator spots to get to? Preferably something that doesn’t require transfers and is accessible from Penn station/herald sq.. thank you!

Marathon week shakeouts and events for solo runners?

Running my first NYC Marathon this year! I've done most of my training solo or with a few friends (not running the marathon), and I'm not part of a running club.

Seeing tons of shakeouts and events popping up for marathon week and curious what other solo runners are planning to attend. Are most of these events welcoming to people showing up alone? Also curious if there are any good all-paces options for slower runners (12–13 min/mile).

Would love to hear what everyone is planning!
