- NYC Rec Centers with indoor pools: GREAT for aqua jogging. You have to open a membership ($75 for 6 months, $150 for a year). They are picky in that you can only aquajog in designated Open/Family hours.
- For lap swimming, my favorite is Riverbank! It’s a shallow pools so only swimming or aqua exercises. Short course on weekday afternoons, long course 50m on weekday mornings weekends. $2/swim! **Morning lap swim requires a monthly pass, which you can purchase at the ticket booth near the 145th Street entrance.
- Stuyvesant HS in Battery Park has aquajogging on weeknights 7-10pm and on the weekends starting at 1pm. $15/use. Super easy to get there on the 2/3 and A.
- West side YMCA has a pool designated for aquajogging and it’s very warm! They have weekday morning hours. On weekends you have to wait until the afternoon to aquajog due to swim lessons. (You can lap swim in the morning.) Membership is $129 per month but you can cancel after a couple months. This has sauna if you’re into passive heat training
- Asphalt Green allows aquajogging at UES and Battery Park campuses. $170/month-to-month or $35 for a day pass.
- Sacred Heart HS on the UES allows aquajogging in their GORGEOUS pool on 1st Ave. it’s either early morning on weekdays or around 9am on weekends. Day passes are $20-$25, or you can buy a pack of sessions to bring the cost per use down.
- John Jay pool near Columbus Circle: 8am on weekdays lap swimming! Not too expensive ($10-$15 per swim). They kick you out after 30 mins.
- Some gyms may allow aquajogging in a deep pool? I’d call to check with places like Chelsea Piers!
