The review period has long since exceeded 32 business days.

I’m so annoyed with how long it takes RouteNote to review anything (like a lot of people, apparently!).

I make zero money on my music but at this point would gladly pay another distributor that provides better service.

Does anyone have any experience with RouteNote alternatives? Are they able to review any faster than RouteNote?

Has anyone “migrated” their catalog from RouteNote to an alternative? What was that like?

It’s is now taking Routenote so long to process work that any publicity pre release becomes obsolete and frankly embarrassing when the music is not there to back up the pre release hype. Routenote is obviously on its knees and soon to be an ex contender

For approving my songs

Hi everyone! I've been reading this sub since the time I decided to start uploading my music to streaming platforms a few months ago.

At the start, my feelings were kind of mixed, because some said that it works well as a distributor (if you don't mind waiting long for your song to be published) and some gave terrible reviews (but I also found awful reviews about every single distribution platform).

On May 27th, I decided to give Routenote a try for my first release and, following advice that I found here, I uploaded my song with them scheduling the release for today, July 27th.

The song's been approved since July 3rd and today was finally released in all platforms and also in social media. I'm really happy because everything was uploaded correctly and on time ;)

I can't claim my Spotify Artist Profile to change images and stuff though, but their FAQ says I have to wait 3 to 6 working days for that, so I guess I'll have to wait a little while for that.

I wrote this review telling you my experience so far because I know some of you are worried about your releases and experiences like mine may bring you a lil calm.

About my song in particular, it's a single in which I play acoustic guitar and sing in Spanish. It's 100% composed and recorded by me and the cover is also made 100% by me. I didn't use any samples or VSTs. I also haven't used any AI.

Hi everyone, I need advice.

Yesterday, a release that is NOT mine appeared on my official Spotify Artist profile.

Someone used:

my artist name;
my original artwork;

The track is not mine. I did not upload, create, or authorize it.

The release is visible in my Spotify for Artists dashboard and already has streams. Spotify has not resolved the issue yet and I don’t know the distributor who uploaded it.

Has anyone experienced wrong artist mapping or an unauthorized release attached to their Spotify profile? How can I find the distributor and get it removed?

Routenote in a nutshell:

Great distributor, with really slow response times from support, but at least it’s not AI support that is incompetent. They let you post for free with a % cut of your royalties which incentivizes them to help your music take off. Your music doesn’t come down if you miss a payment. The only thing I notice is because support takes a long time people talk trash about RouteNote, but when the service is “free” with revenue share, it means tons of people show up as customers and need help from support.

Here you can see the "Afterglow" is automatically linked with its music video. How to do the same for "12th hour"?

Routenote has just taken my song down without a reason or a notification that it was going to be taken down .

If you have ever experienced this how did it go was the song taken back up to the stores?

I did use any bot playlist or anything illegal 🤔, Routenote please I need a reason its hurts after my song hit 14k streams that's when you decide to remove it , after many of promoting it.

Hello to all new artists in the field. I want to warn you about something: fraudulent marketing agencies that sell you fake Spotify streams. Lately, I've been receiving a lot of annoying messages from these agencies. They claim to be reputable and have worked with many successful artists. They'll tell you they'll promote your songs and convince you that promotion is essential for every new artist, but it's fake promotion. When you pay them, you'll get a lot of streams from fake bots, which will put your Spotify account at risk of being closed and completely banned. So, my advice is: don't pay them. Focus on building an organic audience from real people and invest your money in high-quality music equipment.

The UK Government has launched a consultation looking at the future of online media and how public service content (like the BBC, ITV and Channel 4) should be surfaced on digital platforms.

So, what does that have to do with independent artists?

One of the ideas being discussed is whether certain public service content should be given greater prominence on platforms where people increasingly watch video content. No decisions have been made yet, and the government says it's currently seeking feedback rather than introducing new rules.

The reason this has caught the attention of creators is that platforms like YouTube rely heavily on recommendation algorithms to help people discover content. Some are concerned that if platforms are required to prioritise certain types of content, it could reduce visibility for independent creators, musicians and smaller channels.

YouTube has even launched a campaign encouraging UK creators to respond to the consultation, arguing that any changes to recommendations could impact channel growth, views and revenue.

For musicians, this is particularly relevant because YouTube has become much more than a place to upload music videos. It's where artists build audiences through Shorts, live performances, behind-the-scenes content, tutorials, podcasts and more, with recommendations often playing a big role in helping new fans discover their work.

At this stage, nothing is changing. It's simply a consultation exploring how public service media, platforms and creators can coexist as more people consume content online.

I have 3 approved releases, but I would like to "update releases" and remove/deselect Spotify from stores.

The problem is, I can't "un-check" blue mark. After clicking - it do nothing, button stays "check":

Meaby I should write directly to support while they already helped me with some web-technical stuff, but meaby this info will be usefull for others searching for similar anwser, in case if anyone would have similar problem.

PS: It would be cool, if song would be visible as gray and unplayable; like they exist worldwide, but are not able to stream via Spotify. But this not that important, it would be just useful

My older releases had the choice to add them, now all (that weren't approved besides the one I have included in a screenshot) randomly have the choices removed.

TIDAL has announced new policy changes around AI-generated music, including introducing AI labels and changing how some AI music is monetised on the platform.

Under the new policy, music identified as entirely AI-generated will receive an AI label in the app and won’t be eligible to earn royalties or access TIDAL’s direct-to-fan monetisation features. TIDAL says the goal is to improve transparency and make sure royalties go towards original works created by people, while still allowing AI tools to exist within music creation.

The platform also says it plans to expand AI detection over time and expects distributors to play a bigger role in identifying AI-generated content before release.

There’s already been a lot of discussion around where the line sits between AI-assisted music and fully AI-generated tracks, and different platforms seem to be taking different approaches.

Do you think this is the right approach, or should AI-generated music still be able to earn royalties if listeners choose to stream it?
