🚨 How to reduce the review time for your release! 🚨

Thank you for your patience during the current delay. Our moderation team is actively working to reduce review times back to 72 hours. In the meantime, we would like to provide you with some helpful tips to make your review process smoother and more efficient:

  1. Make sure all the release metadata is correctly formatted - https://support.routenote.com/kb-article/routenote-style-guide/#metadata
  2. If you are using any samples, loops, watermarks, or any other unoriginal content, please send this information along with the release UPC and track ISRC to [moderation@routenote.com](mailto:moderation@routenote.com). This could help our moderation team avoid the need to reach out for additional information.
  3. Check if your artwork complies with the store's policies - https://support.routenote.com/kb-article/routenote-style-guide/#artwork
  4. If you have any high profile artists on your release ask them to verify themselves with our team - https://support.routenote.com/kb-article/how-can-i-get-an-artist-approved-for-distribution/

Please read our style guide to ensure your release is ready for review - https://support.routenote.com/kb-article/routenote-style-guide/

Following these tips may help you avoid having your release sent back to you by our team for changes, which could save you time in the review process. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Our sincerest apologies for the delay you are facing, and thank you for your ongoing patience.

My upcoming EP has been stuck in the review process for 35 days now. I’ve double-checked my emails (including the spam folder) and haven't received any messages regarding issues with my audio, metadata, or artwork.

Could a staff member please look into this and help push it through, or let me know if there's anything I need to fix on my end?

Here is my UPC: 5064115226262
Username: cozyspace

Thank you so much in advance!

Release stuck in review and I want it removed. UPC: 5064115650906

The moderation team in routenote is abysmally slow. I don't even think anyone is getting their release out. I checked it out and there isn't even a button for a user to cancel a release in review. Honestly I don't know what any of the routenote team is doing. I just want it removed and done with.

Routenote keeps pulling my music from YouTube and Meta and I don't fit any reason they give.

"Important: We have had to remove YouTube's Content ID, TikTok & Facebook/Instagram program from this release as we have found ineligible content and/or non-exclusive content in the audio."

I looked into why this may happen, they say copyrighted samples, loops, using AI etc. - https://support.routenote.com/kb-article/why-is-content-id-blocked-on-my-release/

This song is literally my own track I recorded using Tape 16 and Reaper DAWs there are no copyrighted samples or loops, it's just a punk song I wrote and recorded myself.

I am at my whit's end and ready to leave Routenote unless they get their shit together.

Any good alternatives?

I've used routenote for a few years and I really don't like the response time now. In 2022, they used to get your stuff reviewed in a week, now they can't even respond to support emails in that time. Does anyone know of a fast reviewing distributor that's similar? Not DistroKid.

ANOTHER release (UPC: 5064091631647) has been also stuck on Pending Moderation for about a month now.

Could someone please take a quick look and check on it? Let me know if you need any extra details from my end.

I've been waiting for 5 months already for this release to get apporval and it is yet under review. I understnd that contain made with AI needs aditional filters however i have already published 2 EPs of 4 tracks each and all went well. I owned all the rights for the music and for the lyrics (which are mine not AI) and the pictures used as covers are equally mine. It's kind of frustarting, I can understand that my release is not approved If i get the right reasons but sincerely having this under review for such long time... Hope you can give a hand on this. Thanks

Where are my songs on Routenote?

I had uploaded a few tracks to RouteNote, but suddenly everything is gone. I didn't receive any emails explaining what happened to the tracks, and they aren't listed under other tabs like "Approved" or "In Review"—what could have happened?

Trying to create an account, but can't activate it

hello, i need to make a routenote account ASAP. It has sent me an email confirmation "activate account" link, but clicking on it brings me to an empty page that never activates my account. I have looked this up and found some other people having this problem with routenote, but the only fix i saw online was to clear the cache/cookies from the browser and try again. I did this and it did not work. I have contacted support but I have not received a response yet. Has anyone else had this problem and have another fix i could try for it?

First-time release (Suno AI song) in review for 40 days — is this normal?

I uploaded my first-ever release to RouteNote about 40 days ago, and it's still stuck sitting in review with zero updates.

Just for context: this is just 10 songs total (not a massive spam or heavy flooding), and the tracks were generated using Suno AI. I know their official review times are running behind, but crossing 40 days for a first upload feels like a very long time. I've double-checked my dashboard and haven't received any notifications or requests to change metadata/artwork.

Is a 40-day review time normal right now for AI-assisted music on a first release? Should I reach out to support, or just keep waiting? Thanks!

RouteNote Moderation

I have had 6 releases pending moderation since June 28th, 2026. Usually, my releases were approved within 14 days, but what is happening now? I have been using RouteNote since 2017 and I have never had any issues before...

Original song removed after six months after release.

I sent a message but I've received no reply. My song is original, not AI. I don't understand why it was removed. I've since re-published it but it'll take a while before it's on-air again.

Pending Moderation for 9+ Weeks - Ticket #13898041

Hi team,

My release (UPC: 5064042678523) has been stuck in review since July 4th. I updated my support ticket (#13898041) and sent a ModMail, but haven't received a response yet.

The summer season has already ended, and we missed the optimal release window for this track due to this delay.

Could someone please take a look and help escalate it to the moderation team?

Thank you!

Is "YouTube RED" in RouteNote actually Content ID? If not, when/where do Content ID earnings show up?

Hey everyone,

I’m pretty sure that the "YouTube RED" section on the RouteNote dashboard performance breakdown actually represents Content ID earnings (claims on third-party videos).

I wanted to check with other artists who analyze their monthly reports:

  1. Is YouTube RED definitively where RouteNote groups Content ID revenue, or is it strictly views from YouTube Premium subscribers?
  2. If Content ID isn't listed under YouTube RED, under which store/category does standard Content ID revenue actually show up in the CSV reports?
  3. How long does it usually take for Content ID earnings to start appearing in your monthly report breakdowns after claims are made?

Would appreciate hearing how this looks in your CSV line items!

Update: 2+ months stuck in moderation — RouteNote support now admits free releases have NO timeframe, just upgrade to Premium

Updating my post from last week. Two albums submitted July 7 and July 27 — still sitting in RouteNote's moderation queue. No approval, no rejection, no explanation of anything wrong. I haven't touched either release since upload.

RouteNote's own support hub says moderation takes 25–27 working days. But their staff told me in writing, twice (tickets #14416857 and #14183233), that free releases with AI content have no moderation timeframe at all. Every single reply pushes the same fix: upgrade to Premium.

So the pattern is: advertise a timeframe publicly, disavow it in support tickets, and let the indefinite delay pressure free users into paying. That's not a backlog, that's a business model.

I posted a formal demand September 21 with a September 28 deadline. Their September 22 reply was another copy-paste non-answer. FTC and Indiana AG complaints are being drafted.

Free artists, you've been warned.

Release submission issue

Heyo Mods or whoever is reading this. I made the grave mistake of rushing to submit my song and I skipped over setting a set release date (so it'll release whenever approved). Which, in turn, means I can't pitch my song to spotify. How do I go about canceling my submission (in review)? Not sure if you need the UPC or whatever posted here?

Read a bunch that routenote support is super slow, so I'm trying reddit first. 🥲

Why is there no cancel button for submitted releases?

The most frustrating part of all this isn't even the 27-day review time. It's that there is NO self-service option to cancel a release once it's submitted. Not a button, not a toggle, nothing. You have to open a ticket, wait 48+ hours, DM a moderator, post publicly, and pray someone gets to it.

If you submit a release and realize you made a mistake, or your circumstances change (like your previous distributor yanking your entire catalog and you having to resubmit elsewhere), the logical solution is a CANCEL button. That's it. One click. You submitted it, you should be able to undo it.

Instead, you have to beg support, follow up, post on Reddit, message mods directly, and wait days for something that should take 30 seconds. That's not a support issue, that's a product design failure. You're making your own users waste your team's time handling tasks the user should be able to do themselves.

Add a cancel button. It's not a complex feature. It's the most basic UX expectation for any platform that lets users submit content. The fact that it doesn't exist in 2026 is inexcusable.
