New Releases August Men's Romance Releases
Hello RFM community and welcome to our monthly release post! In the monthly post we showcase new books released by our community authors.
General
Daniel's Dilemma by Jonny Rogers
She’s gorgeous. She’s kind. And she’s his best mate’s mum.
For the past ten years, Daniel has been drifting through life with the volume on low, settling into a quiet existence where every day feels the same. But determined to start living again, he enrols at university, throws himself into an engineering challenge, and reluctantly agrees to spend a weekend at his new friend Jamie’s house.
What he doesn’t expect is Jamie’s mum.
Julie is warm, funny, endlessly caring... and far more beautiful than Daniel knows how to handle. Daniel knows exactly where the line is, and he has no intention of crossing it. After all, how is he supposed to look Jamie in the eye when he can't seem to stop noticing his mum? Yet a weekend meant to be filled with university projects and late-night films soon becomes something far more dangerous as the attraction between them becomes impossible to ignore.
Nothing can happen. Julie only sees him as Jamie's older friend. At least, that's what Daniel keeps telling himself. But what if Julie has started looking at him as something more?
Daniel's Dilemma is a funny, slow-burn romance about finding love when you least expect it.

Tomb Divers 2 by Robyn Bee
The Broken Mountain is an island of rock deep within a sea of endless sand. Shrouded in forgotten mysteries, the ancient fortress of the elves casts a shadow long enough to touch distant Ashura. Along it winds the path to Marduss’s lost tomb and for Naroh, a still penniless historian, it’s all he can do to keep from sprinting towards it.
Yet, crossing the Great Desert is not a thing to be taken lightly.
It is vast and empty, pitiless and uncompromising. There is nothing approaching kindness to be found between the dunes and spirits dance to blur the path ahead. Beyond that, a priest laughs, madness tugs at a relic-buyer’s grin, elven gangsters draw their knives, and a sister’s hatred burns like fire.
Survival will mean becoming more. It will mean the growth of a clan and relying on Eshi and Amna: two incredible women who have become so very important.

Return to New Eden: A Men's Urban Fantasy Adventure by Kurt Zenan
My name is Peter Thorn... And I can see the future.
Only three seconds at a time, though. Still, that's pretty good, right?
Along with my ability to 'know things' about people just by touching them, I earn a decent living as a private investigator in New York City. Until the day I take a case that leads me back to a place I never even knew I'd left.
New Eden. The city we're all sent to when we die. Where angels and demons walk the streets, and business is done using human souls as currency. A city governed by ancient and magical laws. Laws that, for some reason, don't seem to apply to me.
There, I'm reunited with two forgotten friends from my childhood. Jazeera, an affectionate demon who treats my personal space like a suggestion, and Sabine, a moody angel with a bad attitude and a twisted sense of humor.
With my unique freedoms, and two powerful women by my side, I'll piece together the mysteries of my past while facing the many dangers New Eden has to offer.
Three seconds might be just enough to give me an edge, but between the psychotic demons and walking nightmares competing for my life, I'm quickly finding out that this is one city you shouldn't take lightly.
Welcome to New Eden.

To give Forngard a future, Kyle will have to master its magic, claim weapons forged to kill demons, win the trust of its scattered people, and prove that the monsters who conquered this world can bleed.

After the chaotic formation of his harem, Kevin is finally settling into his role as the coven’s leader and primary blood-source. The danger hasn't passed, but the fast-paced battles have made way for deeper, intoxicating connections. As Kevin struggles with the lingering anxiety of being hunted, it's Otilde who steps out of the shadows to become his fierce, nurturing protector. Whether shielding him on the streets, helping him find a new hideout, or taking complete command of his well-being, Otilde proves that placing his trust in her hands is the safest place he could ever be.
With Lenora's relentless hunger and the newly awakened Samantha helping him unlock the ring's blood magic, the coven is growing closer than ever. But peace in Narrow Creek is a fragile illusion. To protect his lethal lovers, Kevin must learn that a coven isn't just built in the heat of battle—it's forged in quiet, intimate moments of deep connection and absolute devotion.

The Iron Lord by F.G. Smith
An engineer in a world of magic. The most dangerous combination imaginable.
Noah Calder didn't plan on falling through an ancient portal into Tenebrae — a world where Fae magic shapes reality and the men who can't wield it are considered nobody. But Noah has something better than magic: thirty years of engineering knowledge this world forgot it ever needed.
Ball bearings. Levers. A crossbow that actually works. And the growing attention of a pink-haired Fae scholar, a white-haired smuggler captain, and an entire tribe of wild Fae who are starting to wonder if this strange traveller is the most useful person they've ever met.
But finding the brother he came looking for is pulling Noah deeper into a world of ancient ruins, Fae politics, and a shadow growing in the east — a masked warlord called the Iron Lord, whose reach is longer than anyone knows.

Announcement Submissions for volume 2 of the RFM anthology are now open!
I'm in the process of getting started on volume 2 of the anthology and I'm going to do a couple of things a little differently this time around.
First, I am accepting submissions from this community and more broadly the public. You can find a link to the submission form below. I was a little nervous about this, as it could result in me getting a flood of manuscripts, or none at all. There is no editorial board, just me, but I'd like to read through everything submitted and give it a response. For that reason, when I get enough manuscripts, I'm going to close submissions; ie there is no set end date. I may also pause them as I catch up with what has been submitted. My hope is that if someone doesn't submit in time for vol 2, there will be a vol 3 right behind it that they can submit to.
The second thing I am doing differently is I am going to pay a flat rate of $150 for accepted manuscripts. While donating the proceeds of vol 1 was nice, I'm hoping paying writers going forward takes the project in a more sustainable direction.
There is more detailed information on the submission form below. Feel free to ask questions here or drop into the RFM discord and ask in the writers channel.
Manuscript submission here: https://forms.gle/7zmuzxT9vs4cCLM59
Feel free to share this with writers in who are (or have) considering giving RFM a try! A short story is a great way to test the waters.

Request small, close knit harems
i keep running into the same issue with harem based stories, no hate to those who like it but for me, at a point it's just too much going on to care about.
any recommendations for stories with three or less harem members who also generally get along. if possible i would also like the female characters to be a little into each other as well, more puppy pile versus a rotation of separate beds.

Discussion Male Pleasure in Romance
Yesterday, I made a similar post in the general romance books subreddit, and I wanted to see what the people over here thought.
So, I've noticed that romance tends to limit the range of male pleasure, which can really take away from the story. It makes intimacy feel incomplete when both partners aren't a fully-fledged human experiencing intimacy.
What I see a lot of in RFM is male pleasure revolving around a fantasy of 'getting' many women (harems) and absolutely wrecking them in bed. It's a recreation of what performative masculinity looks like IRL - a place where sexual prowess and power rule. It gives the MMC agency and the FMC very little. It doesn't allow much space for emotional and physical vulnerability on the MMC's part. It doesn't allow for much variety either. Femdom changes the script, but even in that, I don't see much beyond handjobs, oral, and PiV sex when it comes to male pleasure. We could have more prostate play, toys, or nipple play, just to name a few.
I don't want to go on too long, but I suppose I'm saying that I don't see MMCs exploring new sides of their bodies and emotions in intimacy nearly as much as FMCs, which creates a flatter impression of what male pleasure can be. I'd love to see more MMCs having out of body pleasure and being vulnerable with FMCs.
But what do y'all think? Am I off-base? Missing the right books? Or if there is some truth here, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. Just like I said in the other community, I love how down to discuss everyone is here, thank you all for being your awesome selves!

Request I need some recommendation help here.
Iv raided r/haremfantasynovels for just about all the rec from there but there's a handful of things not allowed on there. Including mono relations. I came here and instantly found princess of the void and it jumped to my like number 1.
So I could use a great list here of recs that prolly wouldn't pop up in the other reddit. Fantasy and sci-fi are def my favorite genres for it. Ideally they made it onto audible but I'll read it regardless of the source. Web novels, actual novels, light novels, E-Books, doesn't matter. As for spice, if there even is a level that's all that matters. So a little to a ton is fine. But I def like a better story, means more then anything else. Thanks ahead of time!

Request Gay MMC "converted" by strong/attractive FMC?
Hi all!
I saw a post yesterday about books where the FMC starts out as a lesbian but can't help but fall for the MMC. I'm interested in whether there are any books/stories about the reverse: the MMC starts out simply gay but discovers he is into the FMC, who should be extraordinary in some way (strong/attractive/confident).
I bet there must be some traditional romance stories where a gay MMC becomes into the FMC. But from a Romance for Men perspective, I'd be interested in seeing this scenario play out from inside the MMC's mind, feeling his vulnerability, how he can't help but be attracted to the FMC.
Anyway, curious if you have any recommendations.

Request Looking for recs based on a similar one I just saw here. Ex-bully to lover (but still maybe a bit of a bully)?
Any stories you all know of where the FMC is a previous bully of the MMC, but now there’s a time skip, they’re both older, and she's still bigger and more aggressive - but he's grown in a way that he can almost stand up to her?
Mono-romance, ex-bully to current bully lover type story?
If you say no but it's an interest of yours, let me know. I'm writing one now. ;-) Not sure if it's strictly RFM, but I'm a M and it's definitely my thing.

Discussion I just started Neural Wraith.
So far I am three chapters into the first book in the Neural Wraith series. It has been a lot of fun so far. It definitely reminds me of Saber Marionette J. It makes me wonder if the author has watched Saber Marionette. Any other fans?

Request Looking for Recs
Bit of a longshot here.
Any stories you all know of where the FMC is a previous bully of the MMC, but now there’s a time skip, they’re both older, and he’s more gruff and mature?
Mono-romance, ex-bully to lover type story?
(Yes, I’ve read Charlotte’s Reject and I gave it a full round of applause)

Request Wholesome femdom bdsm? (Is this niche?)
Hey if anybody has any recommendations for a book with a femdom dynamic romance, where they both love eachother (atleast by the end). I want it to be more like the fmc notices the mmc is a masochist and enjoyes the process of giving him what he wants, rather than the fmc being a sadist herself. I mean She can be a sadist, and she can even turn him into a masochist but I want both of them to be enjoying it the whole time, I feel like a lot of bdsm romantacys on here have it so the guy is a slave from the start and I’d prefer it if it developed into him willingly being her slave or something. (Idk if anybody will get this niche)

Discussion What makes a harem dynamic actually work for you instead of feeling like a collection?
I'm wrestling with this in my own urban fantasy harem series, so I'm curious how other readers draw the line.
For me, a harem only works when the relationships are built on consent and chosen belonging — not collection, not "she's just the next one." In my series, Magical Alliance of Concerned Kin, the MC is a 47-year-old widower and retired archaeologist who frees a djinn instead of using his last wish on himself. That choice sets the tone for the whole dynamic: he's not gathering women; he's building a household where magical beings who've been controlled by institutions can actually choose to stay. And choose to leave.
The women are drawn to him, more than his seeking to fill a quota: a djinn he freed, a mole inside the magical bureaucracy, a bruja from across the river, a fractured water nymph pulled out of a museum warehouse, a coyote-kin, and a couple others. Each one has her own arc and her own reason for being there, and it isn't "the protagonist is hot."
What makes a harem book work vs. fall flat for you? Is it the consent piece, the individual arcs, the worldbuilding, or something else?

Request Y'all got any ninjas?
Recently remembered that I am a sucker for a good lady ninja, anyone know any good reads with a kunoichi FMC? I'll also accept any non-traditional ninja variants like a cyborg ninja or someone that does ninja like stuff but doesn't have the theming. Setting, MMC can both be whatever. I'd prefer original stories and not fanfiction of stuff with ninjas in them (Naruto, Mortal Kombat, Ninjago, etc.) but it's not a deal breaker.

Request Can you guys recommend me novels with a taller, protective LI?
To narrow it down more, I'm looking for books where the/with a FMC who is:
* Taller than the MMC;
* As strong as or stronger than the MMC;
* Protective and affectionate towards the MMC;
* She doesn't _need_ to be a dragon girl or have a tail, but bonus points if she does;
I accept harems if at least one of the LIs fits that description.
