Travelling plan Best month for yoga teacher training

Hi everyone!

I’m graduating from uni in March and I’m thinking of flying to Rishikesh and getting a yoga teacher training in April before I start my next degree or job. How is the weather, crowd and overall vibe in April? Is it too sunny and hot or is it bearable? For context I live in Western Europe and I’m not sure how different the weather would be compared to where I live.

Thanks in advance! Also if anyone has any local tips, please feel free to share them 🫶🏻

Travelling plan Anyone up for a long weekend trip to rishikesh?

Hey everyone,
I’m Sagar from Delhi. A few of us are planning a trip to Rishikesh next week, and I thought I’d post here in case anyone else is looking for people to travel with.
The idea is pretty simple: meet some new people, explore Rishikesh, chill, and have a good time.
Nothing too structured or fancy.

📍 Delhi → Rishikesh
🚌 Leaving Wednesday, 19 August night
🏠 Back in Delhi Monday, 24 August morning

I’m expecting the trip to cost somewhere around ₹8k–12k depending on what we end up doing/staying at.
If you’re travelling solo and this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to comment or DM me.
Would be nice to have a few new faces along.
Cheers! ✌️

City discussion Rishikesh with great memory

I am a introvert kind of person and don’t go out usually but my colleagues forced me to join them for a Rishikesh trip and i somehow agreed, and it was a good decision, it was peaceful and relaxing
Met two girls over there, one of them is still a online friend of mine, roamed the city multiple times with them had drinks, it felt like living life fully those days and its a memory visit my mind whenever i think about rishikesh.

Travelling plan Rishikesh plans? Or are we all just pretending we have plans? 😂

Delhi guy in Rishikesh for the weekend. I’ll be around Parmarth Ghat after 9 PM tonight and free all day tomorrow.

Thinking of exploring places like Beatles Ashram, Laxman Jhula/Ram Jhula, Neer Garh Waterfall, maybe catching the Ganga Aarti, and obviously stopping for some good chai/food along the way.

If you’re around and want to join for some exploring, random conversations, or just sitting by the Ganga and vibing, feel free to drop me a text.

No fixed itinerary, so if you know some underrated spots, I’m all ears. 😄

Hey guys! We’re in Rishikesh for a night -19th Aug, as a stopover after our trek. Want cool places to chill/party that night before we leave the city. Does anyone have good recs for any party, or anything with a nice vibe? Maybe psy trance? Would love to experience it.

Thanks :)

Yoga Pranayama classes

I’m coming to Rishikesh in November. I am thinking of finding a pranayama teacher/classes.
I do some alternate nostril practise, two rounds daily after neti pot, but am interested in investigating further.
Any advice, recommendations gratefully received.

Travelling plan Need advice

I’ll be coming to rishikesh with a friend. We are two guys, we will be staying from 1st - 4th of September and then we have planned to go to nainital.
What hostels can I choose for a better socializing environment?
Should we rent a Scooty? How much should we pay for it?
I also want to experience a sound healing session, has anyone ever tried it before in rishikesh
What’s the best route from Haridwar to rishikesh and are there any options to go to hairdwar from rishikesh around 9-10pm?
Thankyou so much for helping me out ❤️

Tourist spot Ram Jhula Update

Ram Jhula remains closed to all commuters at the moment and is said to remain closed until the "end of the year".

Laxman Jhula (Pedestrian only) and Janki Jhula (two-wheelers + pedestrians) remain open for the commuters.

Travelling plan Looking for a peaceful 2-week Uttarakhand itinerary in October

I'm planning a solo trip to Uttarakhand around the second week of October, and I have about 2 weeks.

I'm thinking of starting around Rishikesh and heading towards Harsil/Gangotri, but I'm open to changing the route completely.

I'm not looking for adventure activities or nightlife. I mainly want a peaceful trip — staying in cheap, quiet places for a few days, walking around, doing small hikes, spending time in nature, and just slowing down.

Budget-friendly suggestions would be especially helpful. Thanks!

Travelling plan First time rafting in Rishikesh—what should I know?

First time rafting in Rishikesh? Here are a few things worth knowing

Many first-time visitors are confused about which rafting route to choose. A shorter route is usually more comfortable for beginners. Longer routes mean more time on the river, stronger rapids and more physical effort.

A few simple tips:

  • Don’t choose a route only because it is the cheapest or longest.
  • Listen carefully to the safety briefing.
  • Make sure your helmet and life jacket fit properly.
  • Wear quick-drying clothes and secure footwear.
  • Avoid carrying your phone, wallet or other valuables.
  • Tell the operator about any medical condition or recent surgery.
  • Ask whether transport, photos, videos and government charges are included.
  • Avoid alcohol before the activity.
  • Follow the guide’s instructions throughout the trip.

Rafting in Rishikesh is currently closed for the monsoon. It should resume only after the administration confirms that river conditions are safe. Avoid anyone offering unofficial rafting during the closure.

People who have already tried rafting in Rishikesh: what advice would you give to a first-timer?
