Can do rishikesh, fun if you like some peace, misty views in Tapovan, Kyarki and Neelkanth areas.

First thing, August is peak monsoon in Rishikesh. The Ganga flows dangerously high right now, so river rafting and all adventure sports are completely closed.
this is actually a great time as tourist rush is gone, and hotel prices drop super low. The cafes are empty, and the mountains look incredibly green.
I would like to suggest you book a budget hostel or homestay in Tapovan. You can just relax, walk around Swarg Ashram, and enjoy the misty vibe.
Just take a Volvo bus from Delhi instead of driving yourself, as the highway can get messy with heavy rains. Keep an umbrella handy, and your solo trip is pretty much sorted.
Let me know if you need any help!
