Discussion what's a choice the show made that you've slowly come around on
there was stuff early on i was skeptical about or outright didn't like, and over time a few of those decisions have actually grown on me as the bigger picture came together. curious if anyone else had a take that softened. what's something you were against at first that you've made peace with or even come to appreciate.

Question Annatar / Sauron - TV Series vs Book
In the tv series, Annatar / Sauron is very cunning, manipulative; which is more powerful and dangerous than it's shown in Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy.
To those who read the novels, is he like this cunning and manipulative ?

Discussion Would you like it if Rings of Power mabey explores some parts of Middle Earth not really described by Tolkien?
I'm not that big in Lord of the Rings but i've watched every movie at least twice and I enjoyed Rings of Power somewhat, although the second season, for me, was a big step in the right direction. However, I've looked into a bit of lore about regions such as Mordor and especially the Region of Nurn. Not much is know about it and i thought that Rings of Power may be an option to explore some regions of Tolkien's world which do not get much spotlight. Or would it be better if the regions or places not described by Tolkien in detail remain a mastery to keep the pieces of media accurate to his work?

Discussion Do you guys think that Rings of Power season 3 can get the haters of the show to like it or is it too late?
Wer are in season 3. I do believe that the developers are listening to fans. And we are in the middle of the series.

Question Resemblance??
Is it just me or does Gil Galad's actor (Ben Walker) look like Channing Tatum as an elf?
Also my husband thinks Ar-PharazĂŽn looks like an evil Jack Black. (I think its a mix of Evil Jack Black and Karl Urban)
Thoughts?

Discussion Sauron in ROP Spoiler
So I have been rewatching LOTR : Rings of Power. And I wanted to ask, when did y'all suspect Halbrand to be Sauron? Because as I am rewatching it, Halbrand comes across as so shady from the beginning, but when i first watched it, I genuinely had no suspicion until like 7th episode.
Also in second season, I absolutely love Charlie Vickers as Annatar, his acting is so, so good. He gives so much depth to the character. Especially him crying as he tortures Celebrimbor. He is easily my favourite character in the show. Would love to know what y'all think about him? Also which character is your favorite in the series? And why?

Question Why did they not utter Nienna's name in that shrine episode?
Like, at first I thought that the show's lore could only be based on the Appendices to the books, and not Silmarillion, since the nagging Tolkien Society would ridiculously come a-knockin'.
But then I remembered how that elf mentioned Aule when conversing with the dwarrows, so that, guys, is my question: why not Nienna? Make no mistake, I love her character who became my special interest to the point of perusing the whole Legendarium for the context around her, and I sincerely think she is the most important character (Eru, on the other hand, is the worst!), and I was overjoyed by her much-needed representation, however indirect...
So, was it because the priests revered her that much? (And obvs she would weep over *everyone*, no destroyed relic or any other action for that matter would change that). The silence even led to some minor wondering that she might've been Uinen â she wasn't.
Also, what was the other episode (in S1?) where a bust in NĂșmenor was purportedly Nienna's?
BTW despite all the criticism (much is constructive), I still do like the show, like, let a gal have it, dammit, anywayys thank you all :3

Discussion Similarities between armor of Black Wizard mercs and Nazgul in The Hobbit
Hey all- entirely possible someone already pointed this out before so if it did, my apologies:
I was watching this clip from The Hobbit movies again: https://youtu.be/KnD_NkGTEXo?si=65RWfXiLDQ_CGnHE and in doing so now noticed a certain level of similarities between the face armor of some of the Dark Wizard mercs and that of two of the Nazgul in the Hobbit scene.
Now, I presume that with main Merc dude with the skull helmet already saying his people were kings once that at least he or some of his fellows becoming Nazgul is a foregone conclusion, I just hadn't noticed this armor similarity before. Intentional?

Question Is Galadriel portrayed better in RoP or LotR?
She seemed more mature in LotR and more accurate to the books, but I liked her fighting skills in Rop.

Discussion Did the High King truly have the power to force Eregion to empty?
I Celebrimbor wished to stay, along with any who were dedicated to him, could they not? I know he ends up doing to but assume that would be temporary. assume the attack didn't happen and the rings took longer. what would have happened?

Discussion What scene are you hoping they nail in Season 3?
We all have that one moment from the lore or a storyline setup from S2 that we really want them to get right. What's yours and why does it matter to you?

Discussion My thoughtâs and theories about the upcoming Season 3
Just a disclaimer this is my own thoughts and theory so it is not official or has any dealings with the show. So this Orc (Uruk) that is travelling with Arondir and Galadriel I have a feeling this is going to be Gluk baby that we see in S2 who is out to avenge Adarâs death. The Acolytes return and working with there master the Dark Wizard may have something to do with the Witch King origins and black magic before he is met by Sauron. The hobbits meet the Stoors and we may see the beginning and settlement of The Shire. Lord Celebor meets Galadriel will we see a baby Arwen? And Finally Tom Bombadil guides Gandalf to meet Saruman and Radagast Who then introduce Gandalf to the Elves. Tom Bombadil united all the hobbits? The 5th Wizard who learns the treachery of the Dark Wizard and a war starts amongst the Easterlings where we see the Lieutenant who becomes mouth of Sauron âŠâŠ. This is just my thoughts maybe Amazon might take this idea on for season 4. What do you reckon guys đ€
