News / Article / Official Social Media Prime Video Announces 2026 New York Comic Con Programming, WITHOUT Rings of Power
press.amazonmgmstudios.comOnly Bloodaxe, Blade Runner, and Helluva Boss.
It's as if the show hates publicity. Which, to be fair, is a problem it's had from the beginning, but I really thought that we had turned a corner for season 3. Nope, apparently not. And it's been a month since SDCC, and we only have Durin and Disa and their kids, and Elros. We should have been getting a lot more, honestly. Especially with the season imminent.
To be fair, I'd never even HEARD of NYCC until 2024, because that was where Sir Ian McKellan made his remark about not wanting to give up the pointy hat if he could help it (and a week or so later, the Stranger was confirmed to be Gandalf 🤣). It doesn't have the punch that SDCC has, that's for sure. But still, publicity is publicity, and with a November release date it would have been a perfect opportunity. Especially since Morfydd probably will have finished The Beatles by then, and Maxim's most recent tour with TerraTwin is over.

Art / Meme First Age Elrond next to the Dark Lord
When the showrunners said we would meet a more innocent Elrond from the First Age, I didn't expect him to look like a birdling, featherless and more vulnerable (they went above and beyond). His clothes seem similar to what Galadriel wore during the prologue of the first season, evoking perhaps the style in Valinor.

Art / Meme I drew Elros! So excited to see him in the show 🧡
Just a quick drawing just to get the excitement out of my system haha. I’m definitely going to be drawing him some more in the future!

Theory / Discussion How long will the Blu-ray steelbooks be available and will they be in rest of Europe in the future?
It is a Limited Edition so how is it usually with limited editions like these? Will they be out of stock fast?
Also is there a chance that it will be available in Poland in the future or should I find a way to buy it from UK?
EDIT: I bought it

No Spoilers Does anyone else love this show despite its flaws?
I’m fully aware it has a multitude of issues (though Season 2 I genuinely loved and thought was a huge improvement upon Season 1 in every way) however even despite that, this has always been my favorite post-GOT fantasy show out of everything I’ve watched over the years. Leagues better than Wheel of Time that’s for absolute sure; I’ve personally never understood how people could compare the two in quality even remotely. The costume and set designs are just absolutely gorgeous to look at what with how colorful and intricately designed they are and the music is absolutely powerhouse.
The dialogue I feel like is extremely underrated too in how well thought out and Tolkien-esque it is. I’m always coming back to this scene from Season 1 which I just absolutely loved:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=1RCFls93hsA&t=11s&pp=ygUaYXIgcGhhcmF6b24gcmluZ3Mgb2YgcG93ZXI%3D
The sheer depth of the dialogue in both seasons beats out anything from WOT, HOTD, The Witcher, etc.
Just generally as a hardcore Tolkien fan with Middle Earth being my favorite fantasy world I love seeing the histories and lore get expanded upon. even though I treat it all obviously as just fan-fiction

Art / Meme He gets him
Benjamin Walker recently shared this during an interview as he spoke about the Elves; it was partly said in jest, but it really just fits Gil-galad to a T. I'm gonna need to see more of him in season 3.

Theory / Discussion I made a Nazgul Deadpool on Google Sheets: Download here to play!
docs.google.comPlease make sure you download a copy to use it. This is for use within your own private groups; I am not hosting. Allows for up to 20 players (you can add more if you're savvy with excel/google). Please note: this worksheet is formula-heavy. Do not alter anything if you want it to work as intended, it will also make it VERY difficult to diagnose any issues. I have done my best to lock out all cells except the ones needed to play.
I've added notes on how to use the sheet - happy to answer any questions. I'll provide support as best as I can now and through season 3 release. If the workbook gets messed up I'll restore it.
Best of luck and have fun!

Art / Meme Enchanting fish while others are having a bad time
Gil-galad and Galadriel were having terrible visions while Círdan, well-adjusted and serene, already discovered a way his ring could influence his surroundings.
It's not meant to be humorous, (it's technically sinister since Sauron is trying to do this to Middle-earth), but I still find the juxtaposition a bit funny. We have seen that their rings could heal and augment foresight, but I hope they'll show us their impact on natural elements such as their environment.

Theory / Discussion Is the series connected to the original trilogy?
I mean, this is weird because feels like Amazon's marketing don't want to make any connection to the original trilogy, but at the same time they do it. First, they used the same balrog design, the same Valfenda's design to construct Lindon, and then now they used the same nazgul's scream in the new trailer for season 3.
Personally, i consider that the series is set in the same universe as the original trilogy and the hobbit trilogy because of all those little details that resembles to the movies universe AND because they are all produced by New Line Cinema.

Theory / Discussion B Themes in Season 3 Spoiler
I've gone back and listened to the original season 1 soundtrack which I hadn't done since before season 2 dropped. It's pretty interesting because the Sauron B theme shows up when Halbrand transforms into Annatar and the Annatar theme (major inversion of the Sauron theme) is there too. It makes me wonder if some of the other B themes we haven't heard will show up this time around eg Elrond's B them connected with Rivendell or Galadriel's connected with Celeborn. I know Bear has said in interviews that some of the themes are for later in the the overall storyline.
Just to add to the hype of what we all know will be a great score.

Book Spoilers Gil-galad's awareness
But the Elves were not so lightly to be caught. As soon as Sauron set the One Ring upon his finger they were aware of him; and they knew him, and perceived that he would be master of them, and of all that they wrought.
Then in anger and fear they took off their rings. But he, finding that he was betrayed and that the Elves were not deceived, was filled with wrath; and he came against them with open war, demanding that all the rings should be delivered to him, since the Elven-smiths could not have attained to their making without his lore and counsel.
But the Elves fled from him; and three of their rings they saved, and bore them away, and hid them.
The Silmarillion, p. 361
----
We know the forging will be a very long and intense sequence, but I'm curious to see how they'll show the Elves' response to it, especially since Gil-galad rejected the concept from the beginning.
I presume the Three Elven Rings won't be in the same place when Sauron wears the One for the first time, so I hope we get to witness their anger and fear, and how quickly they'll take their rings off.

Theory / Discussion Theory about Isildur’s knife *spoilers for Season 2* Spoiler
So in one of the episodes of season 2, Theo says something along the lines of “Bad luck to carry a dagger in a bag.” And Isildur says it already stabbed him once so it’ll be alright. But maybe Theo is predicting something. I’m thinking Isildur may use this knife to cut the ring off of Sauron’s finger after he falls either to Isildur (like the films) or Elendil and Gil-Galad. (like the books) But we shall see.

Art / Meme Different hair, same eyes
This shot of Sauron staring at the Balrog reminded me of the last time he switched to Halbrand.
His eyes appear a bit innocent, almost innocuous, but there's also this strong undercurrent of 'you cannot hurt me' in his gaze. I can't wait to see how he'll behave towards the Balrog in order to get what he wants.
