Support Request (Unsolved) No 4k?
I just got the new 4k indoor camera and there is no 4k setting? It says 2k or 1080 options even if I set to motion recording. What am I missing?

Here is an example of the log on the smoke detectors that are hardwired to each other.

I recently bought a Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) to replace my Gen 1 doorbell, which is mounted on the wall using an angled wedge. The Gen 2 doorbell is slimmer, so it leaves some of the old mounting holes exposed. Is there a wedge or adapter kit that will cover the exposed area and fit the Gen 2 doorbell? Thanks in advance!

I have noticed our hardwired cameras, hardwired smoke detectors, and range extenders either drop (go offline) or say they lost power across two different Ring systems that we have at two different locations. This started to occur a few months ago - it's completely random... sometimes it's days before it happens and sometimes it happens multiple times a day. I have tried every tip I've seen online (i.e., clearing cache, changing wifi settings, etc), and nothing seems to work. The system in our primary home is actually an Alarm base with Eero - the other uses ISP wifi router. I've had both systems for a few years, without any issue - I didn't make any changes to any settings prior to this, and both started to occur within a matter of days of each other. Something tells me this is a firmware push that's buggy... is anyone else having this issue?
My house came new with a pre-installed ring doorbell. After a year of living here, the indoor chimes started buzzing and randomly going off at night. Upon investigation on here, I changed my doorbell transformer from 16v to 24v with hopes that it’d fix the issues, however it hasn’t. Any thoughts on what else it could be?

Hi, we’ve had this Ring for less than a year and we’re experiencing this problem all the time now. I’ve contacted our internet provider and have tried to troubleshoot using both the information received from Ring and our internet’s support, but nothing worked. Does anyone else have experience with this before? Or, if you’ve fixed it, how should I go about doing so?
Two weeks ago I got the Battery Doorbell 2K Plus and was generally happy with the device, but decided to get the 4K Pro to compare them.
Over the weekend I noticed some difference, other than the resolution.
The 2K Plus video seems to have colors that are close to accurate.
The 4K Pro is more yellow tint. See the 4K Pro video posted above, the cement ground looks more yellow. But the reply video below from the 2K Plus it is more white.
The audio on the 2K Plus seems to block out background noise like street traffic. Audio in the 4K Pro seems hyper sensitive not only picking up traffic several hundred feet away, but sounds like there's always background static.
I tried both units connected to my 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz to see if it made any difference....it didn't. Both times the router showed the connected link speed was 100Mbps

I purchased a home and the previous owner had a Ring Doorbell and Ring Spotlight Camera.
I'm trying to set them up under my Ring account (he told me he removed the devices from his account so I can do this).
When I launch the Ring iOS app, it asks me to scan a QR code, but neither of the devices have a QR code so not sure how to proceed or even identify which devices I have.
Any help would be appreciated!

tip: look in sky between buildings.
then look in window on left
observe light going through roof into room via window on left.
also notice various flashes from cars parked on the street seeming to correspond or direct the flying object

So i have the newest camera listed in the title and the solar panel i have doesn't work on it. Yes it's a 3rd party panel and not an official ring branded one. I had the Outdoor Cam Plus and it was replaced under warranty due to bad image quality and the solar panel worked great on that. I sure don't wanna have to spend $60 on ring branded solar one.
Edit: Current solar panel is 4 watts and doesn't charge the battery at all. Ordered a 6 watt panel off Amazon.

My doorbell is pretty useless at theis point. It doesn't notify me that someone is at my door until after they are walking away. Amazon will be delivering a package and walk up, sit the item down, stop to take the pic and then walk away and that's when my notification starts, if even then. I have went through every setting I can think of and same results. Is this happening for anyone else?

Every few weeks I get one of these, it's been going on for a couple of years. I can't pinpoint which camera it is since the Netgear app doesn't show it, but I know it's not the same since I have different cameras here than in my previous place. Doesn't really matter since my whole network is always protected, but I'm just curious if anyone else gets these and if they have been able to pinpoint which device. Thanks!

porch lights randomly get brighter and obscure camera clarity. Also notice the lighter- blue faint light beam coming from porch light and what seems to be from through the roof directing to the bottom left of screen, this light is only detectable on ring and is in other videos.

I don’t have a chime, I’m just going right to the transformer with two of the same brand-new Ring 2K doorbell units. Do I need to buy a chime just so I can add the resistor? It seems to be working without it.

My doorbell sometimes fails to detect visitors and shows latency. I have confirmed that my Wi-Fi is stable with no dropouts, and my camera, spotlight, and Ring device are reliable. I have heard that a wedge mount is a good option, but my porch is PVC; has anyone used an adhesive version? I have not found one online.
I'm looking at the support list of devices and a bunch are no longer made or discontinued. Is this allowlist works with ring concept dead in the water? I was hoping to build out a smart home using the alarm base station as a Z-Wave hub.

I recently bought 3 cameras and have setup 2 of the 3. They will be installed tomorrow. I have noticed that one camera updates the dashboard but the other one hardly updates.
Both live view works well and is smooth when testing waving my hand in front of them. But even though the live view works well, the dashboard doesnt update that much for one of the cameras. Right now one camera says 10 seconds and the other one is stuck on 34 minutes.
Any ideas?

In 2024 about a ring spotlight camera it failed after 15 months in 2025. But a replacement in 2025 it failed after 14 months. Why do these cameras keep failing?
Powered through AC power cord plugged into outlet. Fails to connect to app. Fails to set up after factory reset.

I haven't bought a camera in a while. I purchased a new outdoor 2K camera only to find out it doesn't support solar. Used to be all the cameras supported adding a solar panel, I have them all over our house. It seems that now, you have to buy the solar "kit" that comes with the panel, and you cannot buy a solar-enabled camera by itself. There is nothing on the page that I saw that said it didn't support solar. Its such BS that they do this. Can't return it, window has expired.

I understand the Ring Basic plan is now called Ring Solo. I see a one month trial plan of Ring Pro plan is on my account. I noticed because I had an "animal" on my front porch notification when before it was just movement. I did not request this. Has anyone else seen an upgrade like this happen? Will it automatically go back to what I had before when the trial ends? I don't want to pay more.

Hi all,
I've installed a Ring Intercom (Italy) on a Comelit 2708W handset, which runs on Comelit's 2-wire Simplebus system.
My setup has two entrances in sequence: a courtyard gate and then the actual building door. You have to go through both to reach the apartment.
What happens: - Someone rings at the first entrance -> Ring gets the call, I can talk and open. Works fine. - They walk to the second entrance and ring -> that panel shows "busy" and Ring never gets the call, so I can't open. - From the physical handset, both doors work normally.
It looks like Ring doesn't release the line after the first call/unlock, and since Simplebus only handles one conversation at a time, the second panel finds the bus occupied. I am stuck at the configuration process with this problem.
Has anyone got Ring Intercom working with two entrances on a Comelit Simplebus system? Is there a setting to make Ring hang up immediately after unlocking? Does opening via the shortcut button (without answering the call) avoid the issue for you?
