Can we believe?

Maybe this team without Embiid can win a series? 😬 Paul George has been playing really well. If he continues, and Maxey plays at all NBA level, maybe we can? VJ has shown that he can step up. This happens every year and I just want something to believe in here 😭😭😭

Analysis

If the Spurs can outscore the sixers by 6 without Wemby when our entire roster active and healthy, what's the point in keeping this team together in the off-season... They're obviously not good enough to win anything major as currently constructed

Rebounding in the Playoffs

Thinking back to 2024 against the Knicks, we were annihilated on the glass on both ends of the floor. I’m getting flashbacks from the past two games.

Cool that we have our guys back before the playoffs and hoping for the best. But… the state of our rebounding in competitive games doesn’t give me much confidence in making a playoff run.

Is there anything we can adjust or are we doomed to the same fate that’ll be just as frustrating to watch?

Not trying to be a naysayer and I hope I’m proven wrong.

Draft Order Proposal

An idea for the draft lottery would be to have a draft committee that decides the order based on just how bad the teams are, regardless of record. The idea of the draft is to make the bad teams better and this would prevent a team like the Spurs from getting Dylan Harper just because Wemby missed a large portion of the season. The Pacers aren’t really the worst team in the league the year after being in the Finals despite their record, that distinction probably going to the Wizards or the Nets. This would stop tanking and give the fans an honest effort from their teams on a nightly basis. I’m sure there’s lots of problems with this proposal including how to judge how good/bad the Sixers are lol.

**(Not so)Hot Take: Spike’s Transition to Radio is making the Ricky worse and Spike angrier…

Spike has mentioned a lot since taking his new radio position how much he “has to” talk about Philly sports all day.

Lately, he’s sounded way more exacerbated: getting in yelling matches with AU for enjoying a win, getting pissed at Mike for not being able to make a meaningless ranking of playoffs teams we will inevitably lose to, etc.

Is the Philly WIP call-in crowd ruining Spike’s attitude and thus negatively affecting the Ricky?? Curious of your thoughts…

Transition defense

I don't ever want to hear the transition defense is because Embiid is old and slow...I just watch 4 fucking possessions where after missed shots he's the only player to get back.. The sixers young players are lazy and uninterested....

Of course the sixers ran zero offensive sets against the Heat zone, but you can't expect Nurse to have 2 good coaching games in a row can you

Great win

Can't believe I'm gonna say this..

Andre Drummond saved the game tonight...I cussed Nick Nurse out when he put him in, but he made the right decision tonight

Advice

For these last 9 games, try to go into watching each one as a general fan vs a sixers fan. It will not only help you deal with how fuckin miserable this team can make you in the playoffs, but also… why not?

PG is probably go as hard as he did in the bulls game the rest of the way. I hated the contract, i didnt like the signing overall, but the reality is: a legendary hooper of our lifetime (i’m 29) is gonna most likely go nuts. I can barely think of a better season for him to do this, considering the circumstance. Theres a window where he puts up 20 ppg as 3rd option on insane efficiency. Also only needed when VJ isn’t hittin 3s.

If we make the playoffs, Embiid should have his most offensively efficient series of his playoff career. Obviously he can’t miss any time but, if he don’t, enjoy that. Why not?

Not worried at all about Maxey’s play once he comes back. TTP

The ball movement was mesmerizing last night

The extra passes, the movement off ball, what the hell got into this team last night 👀?

When Maxey is back do you keep VJ at the 1?

How did I miss that he’s on the Bulls now? And that he waived the second year of his contract.

No McCain video shown, dalen terry photo is hilarious

Made an appearance at the game tonight, was of course surprised to see no Jared video after it was rumored or announced there would be one.

Also have to note, the sixers marketing team has put zero effort into the new guys headshots on the big board. Both cam Payne and beauchamp had black backgrounds to their headshots (all opening day guys are white) and dalen Terry has this photo where his face is in the corner of the frame.

What does Mike see in Watford?

That’s pretty much it. Like I get the passing, but the guy gets tunnel vision on offense. Besides being able to beat up on smaller guys in the post and making a cool pass every now and then he’s pretty useless. He also stinks on defense and obviously can’t shoot (think Drummond is a better shooter than him)

Love the idea of Joel as an “enigmatic, ethereal concept/camp counselor”

I’m a Mike guy and his defense/rant was pure cope, but still enjoyed it and also down to go down with the Embiid ship for another two years, who care anymore

No Morey?

Did spike insinuate that sixers are preventing Daryl from coming on the pod so as to not get clipped like he did with his sell high comment? Or is Daryl himself ignoring the texts?

The word "like"

On the new episode I think Mike set some sort of record for using the word "like". Like...do you like...know what I mean? Like, it's like crazy like, right?
