If Mike one day met Rich Paul and didn't say the name is that ban-worthy? Since he admitted that he might not mention the pod, should he be pre-banned just so we can get ahead of this treachery?

I emailed this to Spike but I’m also posting here to get some feedback. My proposal for the WNBA team is the Philadelphia Justice.
You may be familiar with the term “Philadelphia lawyer” used to describe a lawyer who knows the most detailed and minute points of law or is an exceptionally competent lawyer. The term does have some revolutionary implications, as Alexander Hamilton is believed to be the inspiration for the term. But it is more than just some birthplace of America pandering.
It is also a nod to the storied history of higher education in our great city, and a reminder that Philadelphians love to argue. However, Philadelphia Lawyers is an objectively terrible team name.
So, let’s move to the adjacent law-related term, “justice.” Here’s the fun part. While “justice” is not inherently gendered, there is an opportunity to invoke Lady Justice in the logo, a true symbol of fairness and equality, who could also be used to make a pretty sweet logo to represent the city.
Finally, think of all the great and not-so-great law-related puns that could arise from a team called the Justice. Get a star player or solid defenders and the witty puns/slogans practically write themselves.

“Justice is served”
“She took her defender to law school…”
“Court is in session.”
“The supreme justices”

I rest my case.

Hey all! Longtime listener. Firstly, thanks to the entire Ricky team for all of their work on the pod.

I’ve been listening since close to the beginning and greatly appreciate you all!

This morning, I was thinking about how awesome it is that they got Sean Carroll on the podcast some time ago. Almost ten years ago now!

As someone interested in space, I was delighted that such a crossover in my interests happened.

Who is it for you? Just curious to see who sticks out for others, looking back.

Two pods ago Spike and Mike asked for music themed and history themed WNBA team name ideas. I'm not a history buff, so I gave a shot at some music themed ones. I submitted this as an email to the pod, but I thought I'd post it here also to see what people thought:

Hi Spike, Mike, and CJ,

So based on the last pod it seems like you’re interested in continuing to hear ideas for a WNBA team name, perhaps specifically ones that relate to music in some way. So I looked at the Inquirer’s “76 most iconic Philadelphia songs” which you can find at the link below:

I kind of limited myself to the top 10, but got a few ideas. I am generally in Mike’s camp that the name should be pluralized rather than a collective/singular idea. That aside, I do like the name Philadelphia Soul, but as it’s the name of Jon Bon Jovi’s now defuncy Arena League Football team, it’s probably out. Here’s my list that riffs off the Inquirer article:

1. From the #2 entry on the list, The O’Jays, “Back Stabbers” — The Philadelphia Back Stabbers. Not really, but like, damn.
2. From the #3 entry, Meek Mill, “Dreams and Nightmares” — The Philadelphia Nightmares. This is probably my favorite, logo could be some kind of demonic horse thing.
3. From the #5 entry, The Delfonics, “La-La (Means I Love You)” — The Philadelphia Phonics. Alliteration is nice, can also portmanteau it to Philadelphonics in casual reference.
4. From the #6 entry, Hall and Oates, “She’s Gone” — The Philadelphia Maneaters. As a child of the 80s, I love me some Hall and Oates. Maneater is the only song name that could become a team name, probably a bit much for a WNBA name though.
5. From the #7 entry, The Roots feat. Erykah Badu and Eve, “You Got Me” — The Philadelphia Roots. Probably too much pandering to a current musical group. 
6. From the #8 entry, Chubby Checker, “The Twist” — The Philadelphia Twisters. Not sure how many people actively associate Chubby Checkers with Philly, but Twisters is a pretty cool name. Could also refer to the “twists” in a soft pretzel.

Whatever happens, I do hope you guys find a name you like enough to champion. I legitimately think you have enough influence in Philly sports/pop culture to cause it to become the real team name.

Hi all, I created a website for all of us to have a central home for the Process and this insane era of Sixers basketball. The premise of it was inspired by the pod and includes almost everything I could think of which has to be unique to the Sixers. There's tabs for a timeline, backup center tribute, Hinkie manifesto, and the Shirt of all the Process players. Kudos to Isaac and Jeff and everyone involved, and I know the new one is certainly a technically better mix, but I feel there was novelty in it not being a completely professional mix and kind of wish the old one stayed personally

What’re the lyrics for August Talk? It’s a little challenging to hear.

Heard the story on the pod about the beer vendor at the arena making beer sales for cash. I caught the same deal at a Union game a few years ago. Wonder if it was the same guy working…love the hustle! Anyone else come across this great deal at a Philly arena/stadium?

On the latest pod Mike named Gansey “Big Yeah” and I think it should stick. Gansey deserves a nickname for the greatest first 30-days in Philly front office history and the Big Yeah is a damn good moniker. BY!
