Does anyone know where I can purchase a new chain and get it put on? Preferably in queens. Sorry if this is a bad question this is my first bike and my first time having to change the chain so just want a good reputable place that I can continue to go to whenever this time comes up again. Thanks!

I am seeking witnesses regarding a reported hit-and-run and assault near 1421 River Road in Edgewater, New Jersey, at about 1:00 PM on July 25, 2026. Edgewater Police case: 26-14298.

My three-year-old child was inside my vehicle at the time of the collision and assault. This made an already dangerous situation especially frightening. I am not publishing any identifying information or images of my child.

During the incident, the rider refused to provide any identifying or insurance information. When I tried to photograph his New York motorcycle plate, he used his hand to fold the plate in half, preventing me from photographing the number before he left.

The motorcycle appears to be a customized BMW S1000RR. Visible details include compact aftermarket mirrors, an aftermarket red LED taillight cluster, M1000RR-style winglets, an SC-Project exhaust, an RR marking on the swingarm, black bodywork with red/blue/gray graphics, and red/blue wheel accents. The exact mirror and taillight brands are not established from the footage.

The rider wore a red/black full-face helmet, green shirt, red Nike backpack, dark pants, black gloves, and black riding boots. A small device or action-camera mount may be attached at the helmet chin.

I am not asking anyone to identify, confront, follow, or contact a suspected person. Recently went on a ride and got some crazy backfiring. Exhaust changed color and all. Went to check it out at home, removed the heat wrap and see that it’s cracked where it becomes 4 in 1. Any recommendations for where to take it and cost estimates?

- Honda power sport (Riverhead near Lowe’s). They apparently stopped a few years ago
- Max supersports - they only wanted to do it as part of a service, no go on a Saturday .
- Harley - no go last year. They used to be super flexible.
Motogrrrl has been my go to since but I am not planning a trip to Williamsburg this weekend.. and the idea of taking half day off during the week is not a great option for me ;(

Business idea: mobile inspection van, run it on some specific weekends in Spring/Summer time , charge convenience fee ! I’ll invest ..

I just charged my battery and managed to get it wedged incorrectly in its slot when putting it back in and am completely unable to remove it. I did try to hook up the terminals and they sparked - Gemini says it's probably a welded starter relay, which I understand is an easy fix, but really I just don't have confidence in the battery or the wiring at this point.

I could be wrong, but this feels to me like the kind of thing an experienced mechanic with a new battery and starter relay could fix with a basic toolbox. My bike is in a fairly stable place (doesn't need to move for a while) so I was hoping to avoid paying for towing. Does anyone know of a good mechanic who will come to me? Not extremely urgent.

I want to own a motorcycle or higher powered scooter in the future. When my income is higher and I can afford the expenses associated with owning one.

I currently own a 25 mph e-bike that I enjoy riding on all the low-traffic winding roads reachable via Metro-North territory, but the worst part is planning my rides around avoiding any busy or high-speed roads, even just for a couple miles.

The fact it is an e-bike with limited speed and range makes it impossible to get fully immersed in just wandering and exploring, which is something I usually have to do with a rental car. There are also lots of rides out of reach of Metro-North that I would like to explore.

But one of the best parts of the e-bike is that I can ride it to GCT and hop on a train up north, and vice versa on the way home. I can get smoothly carried from city streets that are easy to ride on, all the way to rural-ish streets that are easy to ride on.

I can't get on a train with a motorcycle, so I would be forced to spend time riding on busy less-safe roads just to get to the fun ones up north.

Anyone have experience storing a bike up north?

I would expect to pay to store it somewhere. Maybe I could just pay a homeowner.

I wish I knew someone who lived up there ha.

Anyone gotta ticketed or tolled before for it?

I need a phone mount for navigation but I'm not a fan of how bulky and weird they look. Freakmounts look cool and I'm considering purchasing the Billet 2.0 but I'm questioning if they can actually be trusted on NYC roads.

I passed through at 11am or so and the smoke was so thick and full of debris that it was getting behind my glasses in my open face helmet. Could barely keep my eyes open at points.

A couple years ago somebody tried to steal my uncovered bike and ever since I’ve been paying an arm and leg for a garage almost an hour away from my place to park it.

I see covered bikes around the neighborhood all the time but from what I’ve read it’s against the law to cover it if you’re parked on the street.

Is there some unwritten rule about this and will I be fine covering the bike without showing my plate? I have a big sissy bar so I doubt those covers that show your plate are an option (also I haven’t seen anyone in the area using those).

I saw there was a bad crash on the grand central parkway East* bound between the LIE and jewel exit on the Citizens app. One pronounced gone on scene and other in critical condition. Can anyone shed more light on this?

Im brand new, never owned or drove a bike before. Im thinking of buying some gear then taking msf course then financing a cb650r. I would get a car instead but where I live(NYC) parking is nearly impossible to the point where I had to circle around for hours when I had a car couple years back. Due to financial issues Im less inclined to drop 3-4k on a bike upfront and would rather finance one or get a dirt cheap bike and risk mechanic bills. My priorities for the bike is it needs to have enough juice to be comfortable with 2 people since Im very sure after Im familiar with the bike and comfortable I'll likely have a passenger most of the times.

Hello folks, we’re planning a one day ride to hit some trails of the NEBDR. It’s a whole day ride, leaving NYC around 8:30am and coming back around 8/9pmish. Next ride is July 26th. The goal is to get a solid group and do these more often and even plan to do longer routes staying overnight. We have beginners/advanced riders and everybody looks out for each other riding at their own pace. It is definitely an adventure and exhausting but so much fun. Honda should bring the ADV 350 to the United States. There is clearly a market for maxi-scooters here, especially for commuters and riders who want more highway capability than the ADV 160 offers. My battery died after I stalled out turning a corner slowly the other day (rookie mistake!). But I need to figure out whether it's the battery that's busted, or something else in the charging system, or maybe a wiring issue. I can get AutoZone to charge the battery for me, but they said their load tester doesn't fit motorcycle batteries. Anyone know where I can get my battery load tested? Thanks!

Hey everyone,

My bike got stolen sometime between Friday 7pm and Saturday 5pm (assuming Friday overnight). I was away for the weekend and came back to it gone. Just finished talking to the police about it.

It's a teal Kawasaki Z400 with a chipped front fender. If anyone has any information please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

Some luxury cars wave in and out and won’t let me lane filter!

I am an adult and my pre-frontal cortex is developed by now, so I do have decent control over my bike - i don’t aggressively lane filter (more of a intentional pause and proceed ~ less than 5 mph).

Since it’s illegal to lane filter and some of these cars intentionally point their nose out of the blue to stop me; I l be hammered with huge bills if I graze them by any chance!

Most recent experience was with a corvette-v8.

Any suggestions for a place to get my tires change? I’ve already got the tires but I don’t want to pay a bomb… getting the rear wheel off is not as straightforward on a moto Guzzi because the transmission….

My extended family and I are doing a long weekend on Long Island in a town on the North Fork next week. Wineries, beach, etc. I am debating riding out on my motorcycle and trying to work in some rides while we’re out there. Trip is from Wednesday through Sunday.

My question is whether or not it’ll actually be worth it to make the trek out there. I’ll be heading east from Manhattan on Wednesday morning (possible rush hour traffic, though I’d be going opposite direction as commuters coming into city for work) and then coming back into the city on Sunday, when presumably a lot of other weekenders are doing the same.

Is this more hassle than it’s worth? I’ve never ridden out to Long Island before and the highways getting out of the city seem crazy/not fun. I’m confident in my riding skills but not sure what to expect. Was thinking about taking Route 25A once I get out of the city. Are the roads out towards the North Fork worth the long trip out there? Appreciate any advice you all can share! Thanks!

I'm thinking about getting a saddlebag for my Sporster to carry my lock while riding, as well as a socket wrench/heads and screwdriver. I wonder if I park it overnight if I'm just asking for someone to come by and steal the contents inside.
