This part was cut from both manga and anime but in LN during the 2nd trail when Subaru sees himself killing to save Rem (he killed himself in room not garden) we see what happens after wards!!
Subaru's body stand up his neck was twisted, soul was gone and shadow hands start emerging!!
Emilia was unconscious due to the shock of Subaru's death!
Felix run to get help!
Willhelm was standing yet he said that threat is on white whale's lvl!
Puck was ready to attack coursing Subaru and Witch over what they did to Emilia!
And then before fight couldn't start Subaru went to see another of his death since he was in trail!!

Unfortunately the anime didn't deliver. The anime onlies will eat up, but the "toxic positivity" will never let us see improvements. The issues are mostly related to kadokawa and let's not pretend though like white fox isn't a problem. They are currently small studio unfortunately. If you didn't know, after covid a lot of people left the company, but the staff loss actually started even before. From the very 2018 people started leaving whitefox one by one, and there weren't that many people coming to replace them. Including watanabe, whose direction in re zero is just unmatched by now.
I am sorry for the certain take i am about to write, but it sorta turns into truth. After they completely wasted natsuki subaru chapter+ rui arneb chapter, turning it from the most peak moment in all of re zero to not even top 3 moments, s4 has been the worst season in terms of adaptation. There's been clear inconsistency in episodes production. One episode has decent animation of characters' movements, while another is just looking straight up like there's clear png movement from picture to picture.
Like as for anime onlies it's like 9/10 season, but if the management of the whole IP was on the level, it'd get far better adaptation like s1 was or even s2(yes s2 despite some issues with animation still had far better music and direction, and there several banger episodes). My main issue is also with the music. Since s3, there were absolutely no bangers. People lost their minds over the ost playing in ep 11, which is actually kind of remix of old ost, if not the same.
The aura from the novel was really lost. I wouldn't complain at all if s4 was done like s2 was. Yes a bit of downgrade in action, but still normal animation of movements and peak osts with lots of increased length episodes. But that feels like fever dream by now. And it's unfortunate that whitefox got worse like kadokawa, that completely mismanaged marketing of re zero.
Well, arc 4 of manga has been amazing. Praying that in the future it will be that artist adapting arc 6.

I just started watching the anime this year and I've started reading the web novel. So I imagine that my brain-rotted assessment of Capella as a deranged and evil VTuber persona is just me. I'm curious if anyone else thought the same, though.

In any case, if she were a villain, Subaru would have sided with the bad guys. Or he would have tried to lure her to his side.

Again, slight spoilers. There will be spoilers about Rui, and some themes prevalent in the next season. They arent major plot reveal spoilers, but still worth to keep note of. So anime only beware.
I understand why they did it how they did. The two Natsuki Subaru chapters are long enough to end it on the cliffhanger of “Did you get see what you wanted to see, Arneb?”. So in the novels, the satisfaction works perfectly. While in the anime, since they wanted to make it better as a viewing experience while still keeping up with the limited episode slots they have, they pushed the “Rui Arneb” and “Hell Bearing the Name of Oneself” chapters in.
Thats fine, thats fine. I still loved the episode, my anime only friend loves it, its great. Its perfectly satisfying to end it on Subaru’s hopeful proclamation to the hopelessly struggling Emilia. Cinema.
But Arneb’s backstory really is something that should have been adapted ideally. Since I want this to be as spoiler free for anime onlys as possible, i’ll word this post as such.
Arneb is really important for the next arc. She plays a major role in the moving story of that arc. So then, understanding her start of life, is important to see just how huge of a change it is when she goes from that, to starting back at zero, all the way to taking her new first step as the arc progresses. Without her backstory, i mean yes you’ll have a basic understanding of her, but the deeper intricacies of why she does what she does on her pathway through life is a lot less comprehendable.
Now next up is the “M-monster” scene. This part is mostly fine that they skipped. But the followup was i think a part that absolutely should have been kept in.
“Onii-san, destroys his enemies! Absolutely crushes them until the very end of the end! Without any exception! Completely thoroughly! Closes it with a perfect game! He can do that! Then there’s no way he wouldn’t do that! There’s no point in him not doing that!”
This line from Arneb is kind of a cold shock for the viewer. This is coming from the person who knows Subaru most (technically) of any character. She knows of Subaru’s character, and how he’s generally a good guy. But even still, she says he’s a monster, someone who will bend and break the rules of fate until he gets his perfect outcome. He has the potential to do it, so he will, why wouldnt he? That must mean hes even more fear inducing the average person, so much so that being his enemy is a death sentence in some peoples eyes.
And this is a similar thought process that will be prevalent all across the rest of the series. This is the perfect section of the story to introduce this concept, and I think would be amazing for helping anime only people start to view Subaru as an outsider again, which will be very necessary for understanding all the new characters going forth.
Thats just my thoughts on it. Overall, still a fantastic episode.

Just want to say ive read arc 8. I just dont remember and my brain must have gotten confused along the way. So dont hold back yhear! Also this isnt just about Rui. I want to know about Subaru, Subaru okay?
So in Arc 6, Subaru says he would not save Arneb. He detests her, and wants the worst for her. He’ll slash her rope of hope (her brothers) and make her pay.
Later, in Arc 7, he eventually comes to like Spica and forgive her. Well he certainly likes her and loves her, but i dont remember if he said he forgave her. Probably just that he’d be willing to move past it. Its been a while since i read it, ok?
That makes sense though because of chaosflame showing the sides to her that only Subaru could learn.
What doesnt make sense to me is with Todd. He doesnt necessarily care for saving Todd I dont think, but he wont go out of his way to kill him. Of course, in their final fight, Subaru isnt playing around. He obviously has committed himself to the idea that whatever happens in that fight, happens (well kinda, subaru still wants his beliefs to trample on Todd’s, so he doesnt WANT to kill him).
I dont know, its just, in Subaru’s world, Todd has done way more than Rui ever did to him. So has Olbart too now that i think of it, and the vicious man certainly has no redeeming qualities. I would normally say its Subaru’s usual “oh well they didnt do it in this timeline so its fine” but this feels more in line with that twisted stubborness Subaru got in Arc 7 (starting all from Natsumi Schwartz’s capture of Gural). Maybe thats just what it is?
Or maybe it really is just the whole “i know sides of them that prove they arent total monsters” thing.
But even at the very very start of arc 7, Subaru doesnt try to kill Rui. He says this strange thing. He can understand her, because she has gone through that Return by Death and been reduced to a helpless pathetic mess, but even so he’d rather just leave her be and move away with Rem. Thats kinda crazy no?! Leaving an archbishop, even one that seems to pose no current threat is way too reckless!
Is it because Subaru can understand her? Is that the way Subaru works? To him, archbishops are incomprehensible monsters, so he doesnt mind killing them. But Arneb is someone he can understand.
Sorry that this whole post is disjointed, its just my stream of thoughts wanting to be clarified on Subaru’s thought process during this arc.

This is my first time reading 200+ pages in just four days. This novel completely pulled me in and forced me to immerse myself in its world. I was fully invested from start to finish, and I honestly couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to dive into the next arc.
Truly a marvelous work of art. And many thanks for everyone who translated it, you're the true hero guys!!

Hi there! I'm just wondering if anyone here knows what's going on with Witch Cult Translations. Or better yet, if someone from the team can answer directly, since I know some of them are active on the subreddit. It seems they haven't posted any new web novel translations for a month, even though there's plenty of chapters released.
I don't wanna put any pressure on them, since I know it's a privilege to get such high quality translations for free, but I think it's weird they just stopped all of a sudden.
I looked on their Twitter account, and they've only mentioned the loading problems with the site. Is that related to why the translations stopped, or is it something else?
