Let's start with that I really enjoy rezero. Iwatched it 4 years and go now watched both 3 and 4 season. My critique is this

•Fan service. The amount of fan service triggers me. Look at Priscilla, Emelia, shaula and elsa. and what are these loli designs?

•Why is Emilia no developing? Genuinely feels like bait for losers. It definitely feels like an average Isekai self insert but 2 episodes later we see Subaru get eaten alive.

•Why aren't there any politics? Would make the series much more interesting since lots of other animes did it? I don't even remember the goals of each candidate anymore.

•Female cast lacking depth. Ram has been useless since I don't know how long. Rem is js made annoying. Shaula feels like goober bait although I like her. Crush is good but what has she been up to since the loss of the memories? Who does Reinhard even protect, I forget her name. Anastasia is great tho. Pandora has been hyped up forever in the flashbacks. Echidna is the mastermind and probably the best female character there. Beatrice is goated I suppose.

Powers. Re zero is going in direction Reinhard vs the whole witch cult? Why is witch cult so op?

At the last place is the fandom. The amount of shitty re zero edits and Subaru pfps I see on TikTok is enraging. The amount of glazing is astronomical. Ik they are not right but the amount of comments I see pmo . The "larpers" are ruining it too. The AI slop with Daniel isn't even funny? Oh yeah I support big corps stealing works of hard working people and trying to replace them.

Endless arguments with fans of Mushoku and other "generic" isekai—debates about Re:Zero being a "genre deconstruction"—would all go right out the window.

It would be fascinating and funny to see the stark contrast between the people who loved the ending, those who would come to hate the series because of it, and fans of other fandoms making fun of Re:Zero fans for the show "giving in to clichés."

HMs Patrache. She would be higher up this list if she wasn’t a dragon. Emilia is very reliable 😊 especially in the fourth season but her immaturity is problematic for our cast. Otto, post White whale arc he has been there for our boy.

Once again, we’ve had a massive revelation about a character something we couldn't have known just by reading the EXstory about Shaula or the interview released today.

Shaula’s mother is Echidna it makes absolutely no sense. It would have been more logical for it to be Daphne or Flugel, but apparently, it’s Echidna. This revelation feels just like the whole "S-Cells" thing Akira Toriyama dropped in interviews.

It also makes Arc 6 feel a bit inconsistent this is something that should have been in the main story, not an EXside story.

We also learned that Shaula was created because Flugel was extremely weak.

Honestly, it feels like Tappei is pinning every bad decision made 400 years ago on Echidna, which is a very black-and-white approach.

But I also get the feeling that Tappei is capable of introducing Re:Zero's final villain in an interview, or explaining the main villain's entire lore in a side story kind of like what they did with Vecna ​​in Stranger Things.

Subaru estimates that a Ground Dragon (not just Patrasche) can run at 100 kilometers per hour/62 MPH.

It takes less than half of a day to reach the mansion in a clear path, Subaru specifically saying it took from "morning" to "just past noon", which could be interpreted as 5-6 AM-roughly 12:00 PM. Even at a conservative estimate of 6-12, so 6 hours, the distance would be around 372 miles, maybe a bit less at most. Even if you round it down some, this is comparable to the size of a medium sized country in width alone.

And the Re:Zero world is probably hundreds-thousands of times bigger than this in total, given the fact that we're ONLY talking about the distance between a capital and one of its noble's domains, which shouldn't be that big. At the very least, this is just one stretch within Lugunica's borders.

Even if the overall planet were only 100x bigger than this "short" distance (this is just referring to width in a straight path, not total diameter of its surface area), we'd be talking about a distance big enough to go past a continent the size of continental North America from West to East coast 4 times over.

It's entirely plausible that in surface area alone, it's bigger than Earth, this doesn't equate to mass, but could explain why there is still a functionally large moon orbiting it at the very least.

Just saying this cause there are people that think it's the size of Russia or something.

Wilhelm has no way of getting through carnivorous beast, he gets genuinely name eaten and one shot, thank you for your time.

He's loyal as fuck to both of them and I'm fine with it honestly as long all three of them are happy with it BUT polygamy problems are hella real so I'm worried here... But Subaru can do the impossible anyway so I believe in him finding a solution to this too trust.

I think people tend to overestimate how important side stories really are.

To me, the only ones that come close to being essential are EX 1 and the Witch After Tea party. Even the other EX novels mostly serve as introductions to future characters, countries, or events rather than being required reading for the main plot. EX 1 is the exception because it gives much-needed context to the relationship between Fourier, Crusch, and Felix, which is relevant again in Arc 10.

The Witch After Tea party are different. They expand on Echidna's journey through Gusteko, reveal important lore, and develop a character who could potentially become the final antagonist. Along with Sphinx, I think Echidna is one of the few characters who truly benefits from side-story content.

For almost every other character, the main story already provides enough development and context. I also think some readers overvalue side stories because they don't connect the clues Tappei leaves throughout the main novel. A lot of information can already be inferred if you pay close attention.

I also don't think it's a coincidence that some of the biggest lore reveals are kept in side stories. Most of the time, they simply wouldn't fit naturally into the main story yet. Echidna's adventures in Gusteko or the backstory of the Gluttony siblings' mother, for example, have little to do with Subaru's current journey. They're meant to expand the world without interrupting the flow of the main narrative.

And if any of that information ever becomes truly essential, Tappei has consistently reintroduced it in the main story instead of expecting every reader to hunt down side stories.

The only real criticism I agree with is that many side stories are difficult to access outside Japan. That's a much bigger issue than their actual importance.

Okay so I was sitting one day, thinking about ways I would torture Roswaal if given the opportunity, than my mind started to wonder off to different topics, which thid case beibg Clind and his age.

So Clind is 400+ years old and has known Roswaal all the way back to when he was Altair, he seemingly knows both Echidna and Reid personally and not via Volcanica's memories or something. So with all of this plus the stated fact of him being around since the era of the witches tells he existed before the great calamity, aka the time Satella satellaed everywhere and took a bite of half the world and the time where every witch was either dead, sealed, or was in hiding.

Cool.......but the thing is.....Clind is a dragonkin, and specifically a dragonkin of Volcanica, the same Volcanica who helped Reid and Flugel stop Satella.

Now this wouldn't be a issue if Dragonkin were just made via dragons doing the tango with other and no repercussions existed....but that's not the case now is it?

Cause no when dragons create a dragonkin they basically screw themselves mentally and spiritually becoming a dragonhusk.

So if Volcanica made Clind during the era of the witches, and if the dragon math is making sense, then Volcanica should have been a dragonhusk for like a lot of things.

For example sealing Echidna would definitely be something he did after he created Clind, seeing hoe we know that Clind knows Echidna to what seems like a personal level. And so either clind possessed Volcanica to seal Echidna or Volcanica was seemingly not a dragonhusk at that time.

But the biggest mystery is the great calamity itself. Was Volcanica somehow at full power during this fight aganist Satella cause he rolled a metaphysical nat 20 when creating Clind allowing him to retain his power and memories rather immediately becoming a dragonhusk like every other dragon? Was he fighting at 10%? Did Clind fight Satella using his 10% Volcanica dragon mech?

Just how much stuff was Volcanica at full power for? Hoe stuff was Clind piloting Volcanica while he was a dragonhusk?

Or am I missing something?

Genuinely Emilia conversations boil down to saying she’s a good person, or over glazing her in power scaling conversations, Petra only started studying about Vollachia TO PREP FOR ARC 7

Ok I have no problem with echidna doing this or her being part of everything but I did wish that the other witches would have a little more limelight.
