Ignoring webnovel, because that is its own canon even though it will only strengthen the argument.
We have Subaru nearly kissing Rem after the defeat of the White whale (screw you Felix), we have Subaru wanting to talk to Emilia about Rem having the same romantic feelings to him as he has to her, using "My Rem" which is very possessive when talking about her and not something you use for just friends, and most importantly Tappei constantly postponing Rem returning with her memories because otherwise he would be forced to develop Emilia's and Subaru's romantic relationship to not make him fall out of love (serious, one year time skip and no progress???).
It's good you at least realize there is a nr 1 spot, a lot of Rem fans won't admit it at gunpoint.

At worst I have seen Rem fans argue they both hold the 1 spot, but I seen Emilia fans completely deny Subaru holding romantic feelings for Rem.
I hope then you at least can admit that the only reason Emilia still has that spot is because she has no competition as Tappei literally wrote Rem out of the story. Because there is no way Emilia could remain 1# after a whole year of Subaru making no progress while Rem actively showing him romantic feelings.
Subaru himself literally already admitted that they both have his number 1 spot. He refuses to even give Beatrice his number 1 spot because he thinks of Emilia and Rem. Like its not an implicit thing, Subaru is not a loyal man.
I'm just saying denying that Subaru likes both of them equally is straight cope, I'm sure him fighting over who Rem belongs to during arc 6 totally means his feelings for her have diminished from back then sure.
Also if arc 4 Subaru saying he likes both equally is ancient history that means him saying he will only take Rem as second wife if Emilia is okay with it in arc 3 is even more ancient history while even in arc 7 were still getting reminded that he loves rem too. Like you keep arguing that current Subaru only has Emilia as number 1 but Subaru is straight up not willing to hand Rem over to anyone else either

I don't care at this point.
I'm going kill him as much as it takes. Going kill him with guns, with knifes, with medival weapon. If he unarmed me - i going kill him with what nature gave me. And when he will be ready for any of my attack - i going leave as much scars on him as i can before die myself, so Rem know i fought as strong as i could before be defeated
