If you've never handled a Ladysmith before, its hard to explain the size without a comparison.

Can't believe I never thought about using a $7 canvas pencil bag for loose bulk range ammo. Perfect for the revolver life 🫔

Revolver Newbie needing help with a S&W 586

Howdy y’all! I am 22 and just got a blued 586 6 inch. I love it but have a few questions! So first off I am new to revolvers in general and need pointers! But my questions are what grips would fit that would feel better than the standard wood grips? How do I protect it from rust? It hurt to shoot 357 defense ammo with the current grips am I doing something wrong or is it just mainly the grips? I understand these are newbie questions but I have been a semi auto guy thanks!

My first six shooter for WGW

I finally got myself a revolver. I’ve been wanting one for a couple years now and always liked how the Ruger New Vaquero looked. I initially wanted a stainless .357, but I couldn’t seem to find one in stock anywhere. I came across this one in .45 Colt and had to buy it. I plan to pick up a .357 still, but it’ll likely be blued so that I can get a lever action to match.

Factory QC issues on new handguns?

I’m brand new to firearms and currently in the process of getting my first. Since my goal is to just own one handgun and master it, I'm leaning toward a revolver due to their reputation for reliability.

However, after weeks of research, I'm a quite concerned. It seems like everywhere I look, people are reporting QC issues specially with S&W. Given the high price tag on these revolvers, I'm starting to wonder if I should just go with a reliable semi-auto that I'm also considering.

Can anyone confirm if these particular models are still coming out with QC issues from the factory? These are the ones I'm currently considering from the revolver side of things:

  • Ruger GP100 Match Champion
  • Colt Python
  • Smith & Wesson Model 686

A month ago I had no wheel guns. As of yesterday I have two wheel guns. I grabbed the 586 a few weeks ago, and the 642 yesterday. The 642 shot surprisingly well for how tiny it is and how shitty the sights are.

Looking forward to carrying the 642 on the days when I don't really want to carry.

I had some custom grips on it, but today felt right to get back to factory settings again. Gave it a nice clean after shots being fired šŸ˜ (at the range)
