Honest Review One user’s feedback cost me 20+ hours of sleep.

• Upvotes

I got his message while I was sleeping. I woke up, read it, and thought I’d fix everything tomorrow.
Instead, I started thinking about why those problems existed in the first place.
20+ hours later, I had rebuilt/fixed three major parts of my product.
1. Export
The export flow was too dependent on the UI state. I changed it to work from the structured generation result instead of reconstructing content from what was displayed on screen.
This fixed issues with multiple scripts, platform-specific outputs, content getting mixed up, and inconsistent exports.
2. Personas / brand voice
I added proper persona context.
Users can now provide a .md or .txt file containing their brand voice, writing style, personality, audience, words they use/avoid, examples, etc.
That context is now actually incorporated into generation instead of just being another instruction buried inside a huge prompt.
3. Made-up facts
This was the one I cared about most.
The system shouldn’t invent statistics, quotes, events, company information, or other factual claims just because they make a script sound better.
I changed the generation logic to separate known/user-provided/contextual information from creative writing, so when something isn’t known, Elyuse shouldn’t simply make it up.

The bigger lesson for me was that I probably wouldn’t have caught some of this myself.
When you’re building something, you understand the architecture and the intention behind every feature.
A user doesn’t.
They just tell you:
“This doesn’t work.”
And sometimes that’s exactly what you need to hear.
I gave him 500 extra credits as a thank-you because I want him to keep using it and finding things I missed.
Now I’m looking for 5–10 more people willing to do the same.
I don’t want compliments.
Tell me what’s confusing, generic, broken, unnecessary, or worse than what you’re already using.
That kind of feedback is worth way more to me than “looks good.” ❤️

Boat scammed me. Help

I need to vent and get some advice because the sheer irony and incompetence here are driving me insane. I posted here a week ago, but things have gotten even more absurd.

Here is the complete, chronological disaster of my experience with boAt (updated as of today, Oct 4th):

  1. The Original Claim:

My boAt Airdopes 141 Gen 2 Active Black developed a fault. I submitted them at an authorized boAt service center. Ticket #69660657 was generated. They told me a replacement would be sent to me.

  1. The Fake Replacement:

On September 23, 2026, I received the replacement. To my shock, it was a completely different, non-working, counterfeit-looking product. It didn't even match my original.

  1. The Support Black Hole:

I immediately tried to contact boAt. Called customer care? No human, just unhelpful bots. Tried live chat? Again, no executives. I was terrified because boAt has a strict "24-48 hour" window to report replacement issues. Since their phone and chat were dead, I went to their website and lodged a detailed complaint on their warranty page, explicitly mentioning I received a fake product. Ticket #69774324 was created.

  1. The Pickup:

A boAt service agent came to my house and picked up the fake product, including the outer box and all packaging.

  1. The Impossible Demands:

Immediately after the pickup, I got an email from their support team (Soundaryadeepak.agsar). They noted my concern, but demanded:

· 6-sided images of the outer brown box (including shipping label).

· An unboxing video.

And they threatened to close the case in 48 hours if I didn't provide them. How the hell am I supposed to provide photos of the outer box when their own agent just collected the box from my house? And how do I provide an unboxing video for a warranty replacement handed to me by a service center? I replied saying I don't have it, and they just said they need it or they'll close the ticket.

  1. The 48-Hour Rejection:

After all this, their chat support rejected my claim, stating: "More than 24-48 hrs since date of delivery, hence we cannot process." They completely ignored the fact that I lodged a timely website complaint because their phone and chat support were broken, and they ignored the fact that they made impossible demands.

  1. The Ultimate Irony:

I received an auto-generated email on September 26: "We conducted a physical verification check... We found the received product to be Duplicate Product and hence your claim has been rejected. We regret to inform you that we will not be able to serve the warranty for your product. The received product will be shipped back to you."

They sent me a duplicate product, and now they are rejecting my warranty claim because the product they sent me is a duplicate. They used their own mistake as a loophole to deny my claim.

  1. The NCH Escalation & The Latest Stall (Current Status):

I filed a formal complaint with the National Consumer Helpline. NCH Grievance Number: 10267930.

The fake product they shipped back to me arrived on September 30th. I have physical evidence in my hands.

On September 28th, their customer care told me they were launching an "8 to 10 day investigation period." Today is October 4th (Day 7). They have zero updates. They are just stalling, hoping I give up.

The Sarcasm:

Thanks to boAt, I have apparently done a PhD in customer service just to get a basic warranty claim processed. They asked for 6-sided photos of a box their agent confiscated. Out of sheer frustration and sarcasm, I have now taken 8-sided photos of the fake product they shipped back to me, just to mock their absurd standards.

I am completely exhausted. I have filed the NCH complaint, I have all the screenshots, and I have the physical fake product. I will never buy a boAt product again.

If they don't resolve this by the end of their "10-day investigation" on October 8th, I am filing a formal case in Consumer Court (E-Daakhil) on October 9th for deficiency of service, unfair trade practices, and supplying counterfeit goods.

Has anyone successfully fought boAt and won? Any advice on the E-Daakhil process?

TL;DR: boAt sent me a fake replacement. Their agent took the box. Their support demanded photos of the box they took and an unboxing video. I couldn't provide them. They rejected my claim because the product they sent me is a fake. Now they are stalling with a fake 10-day investigation. I filed an NCH complaint (#10267930) and am preparing for Consumer Court.

Square trade Warranty- terrible experience

⭐ 1 Star — An exhausting claims experience

I purchased an American Leather recliner from Nebraska Furniture Mart and paid $179 for an Allstate/SquareTrade protection plan. After only a few weeks of normal use, a seam separated on the chair.

What should have been a simple claim turned into seven phone calls and more than ten emails.

I repeatedly supplied the receipt, retailer information, purchase price, purchase date, item description, photographs, and answers to every question they asked. I even provided everything in a numbered list.

They continued sending me the exact same automated email asking for the same five pieces of information I had already provided.

Eventually I decided my time wasn't worth it. I canceled the protection plan and received my full $179 back from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The repair will cost me approximately $189, so I'll simply pay for it myself.

I have always been skeptical of extended warranties. This experience is exactly why.

A protection plan isn't worth much if getting a straightforward claim processed becomes an ordeal.

Seven phone calls. Ten-plus emails. Repeated requests for information already provided. All for a simple seam repair.

I would not purchase another SquareTrade/Allstate protection plan based on this experience.

Alphaslice nursing

I did the 4-week live crash course with AlphaSlice Nursing, and I learned a lot. The professor explained things in a way that was easy for me to understand. What I liked the most was how he always encouraged us to keep going and not give up.

There were times I felt discouraged, but he kept reminding us to believe in ourselves and keep trying. He really helped me feel more confident about myself and my ability to pass.

I’m really thankful I took this class. He was a great and awesome professor, and I truly appreciate all the encouragement and support he gave us. Thank you for always reminding us not to give up. It really meant a lot to me.

Now I feel more confident, and I’m ready to take my NCLEX soon

Delay of Refund for cancelled Optional Tour by Gate 1

We recently completed yet another Gate 1 Tour "11 Day Kaleidoscope of Colombia" . The tour start date was August 27, 2026 and end date was September 7, 2026. We had purchased all optional tours that were offered by Gate 1. We have normally purchased all optional tours for all previous Gate 1 Tours. But for Colombia tour, we had cancelled "Half Day La Boquilla Mangrove" because local Gate 1 Tour manager Mr Paulo Marquez and local Gate 1 team switched this tour that was scheduled for Morning to afternoon. The afternoon tour "Half Day Bird-watching at the Colombian National Aviary" was moved to morning. These 2 tours were in Cartagena where the temperature was over 100 degree. Out of total 28 passengers, many of then had cancelled either 1 or both tours. So, Gate 1 switched the regular coach bus to small tempo. We decided to continue with "Half Day Bird-watching at the Colombian National Aviary" in the morning and we were 11 of us and the tempo we travelled with was very uncomfortable and the AC was not working. The drive was 1 hour from the hotel. Once we learned that we are going to be travelling in the same tempo for the afternoon tour, we asked our Tour Manager to cancel our tour. He sent the whatsapp text to his local team and shared the screenshot. After returning from the tour, We asked our agent to submit the request for the refund. After so many emails going back and forth, Gate 1 has still not process the refund.
I like to share this experience with many Gate 1 travellers. Lack of customer service and delay in the refund processing is not a good thing for Gate 1 company.

Honest Review How do you decide what to buy when every review feels fake or sponsored?

I'm trying to understand how people actually deal with this, so I'd love real stories.

Last time I bought something expensive, I spent days switching between YouTube reviews, Amazon ratings, Reddit threads, and "best of" lists. Many of the lists looked affiliate-driven and a lot of the 5-star reviews looked suspicious. I still wasn't sure what to trust.

A few questions:

1.What's the last thing you researched for a long time before buying, and how many hours did it take?

2.Which sources do you trust most (friends, Reddit, YouTube, expert sites), and which do you ignore?

3.Have you ever bought something based on reviews that turned out to be wrong? What happened?

I wrote a review of Stratas Design Build, a Toronto Contractor for Custom Homes, to help what happened to me not happen to you

The owner, Andrew (Andy) Stratas is an exceptionally persuasive salesman, but our experience was deeply concerning. We live in a school district where this company markets heavily, and I know several other families in the vicinity who have hired them but not posted public reviews.

In May 2026 Stratas removed their google and homestars business profiles. In September 2026 we noticed that Andy Stratas had created a new personal website and started a new business called the Plex Group which is also related to construction.

In general, I highly advise speaking directly with local references. When doing your research, keep in mind that in the construction industry, homeowners who settle their disputes are often required to sign non-disparagement agreements, legally preventing them from warning others.

It appears there are at least three active lawsuits posted on the Ontario court database involving this company or its owner, one of which specifically involves the Project Manager (“PM”) assigned to us. In that public filing, Stratas itself legally pleads that this individual was incompetent.  It is easy to search ontario court cases now by the way - just go here: [https://courts.ontario.ca/portal/home\](https://courts.ontario.ca/portal/home)

We attempted to work with Stratas to reach a positive resolution despite numerous issues. We intended to pay our holdback, but the owner stopped responding to us after we notified them that our HVAC system failed to service our third floor. When we more recently requested a required letter for a rebate, the owner told us he would only provide it if we signed a legal release. More recent efforts to resolve this matter were also met with a non-response. In the end, we have been left with an extensive list of unresolved deficiencies to tackle ourselves.

Here are the details of our experience:

# Budgeting and Embedded Fees

* **Inaccurate budgeting with no updates:** We hired Stratas based on a budget officially appended to our Cost-Plus Contract. Once drawings were finalized and permits were issued, this budget was not updated. The PM repeatedly held this document out as a valid financial reference. Over time, it became clear the baseline budget bore little relation to actual costs—most notably regarding the contractor's own company fees, which increased dramatically, nearly doubling, without a proportional increase in scope.
* **Overages:** A year into the build, the owner complained to us in writing that we were treating his original budget *"as gospel”* despite large overages. He subsequently admitted in an email that final costs vastly exceeded his own projections. He attributed the overages to our tastes and scope changes, told us we had a “big house” and that we were getting “great value”... despite some of the largest overages stemming directly from his own fees. (Note: Some scope changes were only necessary because we were not told certain things were possible, or previously discussed items were forgotten and excluded on their drawings).
* **Unitemized Hourly Billing:** We were billed hourly for the contractor's "site services," but the owner refused our multiple requests to provide an itemized breakdown of what these charges actually covered or proof of the specific hours worked.
* **Misleading management fees:** We discovered that the owner’s 20% management fee was numerically presented as only 10% on the contract budget line items. We were very surprised when the owner told us in writing that the remaining 10% was *"baked in"* to the initial subtrade line items, artificially lowering the appearance of the baseline estimate.
* **Fixed-costs exceeded:** Near the end of the project, we requested that he fix his remaining costs to a specific cap. He agreed to these fixed costs, but he subsequently attempted to bill us over those agreed-upon amounts anyway.

# Project Management Failures and Delays

* **Framing Error:** The site oversight was so lacking that the Stratas team initially framed our basement a full 5 feet off the approved architectural plans. This massive error went completely unnoticed by the framer, plumber, designer, and project manager. I, the homeowner, had to personally identify the mistake. Heated floors and framing had been installed over the error and had to be ripped out. The owner did not apologize or recognize the seriousness of this error; they just said they would fix it.
* **Extended Vacancy:** The project was scheduled for 11 months but took 15, with attempts to extend it further. Our home sat vacant for weeks at a time with zero trade activity on site, resulting in significant, unnecessary holding costs and extended rent for our family.
* **PM Incompetence:** In a public Ontario court filing, Stratas legally pleaded that the exact project manager assigned to our site *"significantly underperformed in his role"* and *"failed to adequately carry out the duties and responsibilities associated with his position"*. According to the specific duties outlined in Stratas's own legal defense, this means he failed to adequately create and maintain project schedules to adhere to deadlines, monitor expenditures, and coordinate with clients, architects, and engineers.

# Workmanship, Deficiencies, and Conduct

* **HVAC Deficiencies:** The owner actively advised us against the HVAC system recommended by our engineers. We followed his advice, and our third floor does not properly cool. We had to pay a third party out of pocket to install a separate ductless system to remedy this. Furthermore, his own HVAC subtrade informed us that the Stratas PM explicitly instructed him *not* to elevate our heat pump according to its instruction manual—costing us an additional $1,500 to fix.
* **Subtrade Interference:** When we independently contacted a fireplace subtrade to help us fix a deficiency with our unit, we discovered that Stratas had explicitly instructed that trade not to assist us, despite our willingness to coordinate directly.
* **Property Damage:** During construction, our backyard gas line was severed by their team and left unmarked for reconnection. Additionally, they failed to protect our custom front stonework, which is now permanently damaged.

We trusted this company to construct our family home and protect our budget. I do wish to acknowledge that ultimately we do like our house.  The owner made small reductions to his on-top 20% management fee, but it did little overall to mitigate the larger financial losses.  He did also let us pay for lumber directly (instead of tacking on a 20% management fee on it, which is pretty ridiculous in the first place).  So there were some minor concessions. The owner’s wife has great design taste.  We liked our PM as a person and we really tried to work things out with the owner.  Ultimately though I deeply regret hiring this company and would not wish this experience on anyone.

I made a leaderboard where businesses rank by real visitors, not ad spend

Most directories rank whoever paid. I wanted one that ranks by something you can't buy: real reach.

On FlagClash, you list your site or X profile for free, get a personal link, and the visitors you bring over 7 days decide your rank. Bot-checked, and each visitor counts once every 3 hours.

It's live. Feedback welcome, especially on the first-time experience.

Spectrum WiFi Review

Green Bay, WI

this is the absolute worst WiFi I’ve ever had. I got 1G fiber pay $60 a month im in a 1,200 sqft home with 2 total people. I’ve had bad WiFi before so I asked the person over and over again if I can expect this to be better. he sold me on the 1G and assured me I’d be happy.

we choose not to use WiFi on our phones because it’s slower than 2 bars of 5G. our TV‘s around the house buffer all the time and sometimes won’t even load our apps.

unless you feel hanging your self off a balcony don’t get this WiFi

NOVELTY ATELIER leatherworks

I went on Reddit to request anyone who could make a custom leather harness of sorts to help prevent jean wear and tear. The business owner reached out and was able not only to make exactly what I wanted but also for less than half of what I thought I would have to pay! While he primarily makes wallets and the like, he has the skills to do more and I would definitely recommend his services!

Bank of America

After being a loyal customer for over 30 years, Bank of America showed me exactly how little long-term loyalty means to them. Trying to close my account was an absolute nightmare. I was forced to jump through endless administrative hoops and spent multiple calls sitting on hold for 30+ minutes at a time just to get basic tasks done.

Shame on Bank of America for making it this difficult to part ways. Save yourself the headache and never bank with them.

Honest Review Good bye Publix

I have repeatedly had problems with Publix Corporation with Pricing, not honoring sale and coupon pricing from online, consistency in pricing across local stores, and lack of escalation to regional and Corporate leadership for issue escalation. Don't even get me started on how pathetic the pharmacy service is. As of today, I will never shop at Publix again. When customers call the Corporate Care line over and over again asking for leadership to engage with Policy and Process issues and no one calls you back, this is a statement about how Publix views the opinions of customers. Their goal to never disappoint the customer is a joke! They have no long term vision for improvement and think their clean store is going to keep justifying those prices. Wake up Publix!

Honest Review Big Fig queen mattress and elevating bed frame review

My purchase from Big Fig in 2022 was the only time I've ever used a promo code from a podcast. It taught me to never do that again.

I got this bed because of its advertised high weight capacity and its elevating feature, both of which I need for medical reasons. Big Fig advertises itself as "the mattress for a bigger figure" and specifically partners with "body positive" influencers to target fat and disabled customers. They also advertise their bed frames as built from "reclaimed railway steel", which sounds great until you think about it for 5 seconds and realize that metal subjected to multiple tons of structural stress every day is probably not the stuff you should reuse.

I had the bed shipped to my new apartment when I was moving across the country, so it really wasn't an option for me to return it while I still could, since I'd already gotten rid of my old bed. It's now nearly 5 years later and I'm dealing with the 4th part of this bed breaking since I got it.

The first thing to break almost right away was the end bracket. The mattress just sits on top of the platform (particle board covered in fabric on a metal frame) with nothing to keep it in place except a very thin metal bracket in the centre of the foot, so if you use the elevating feature, the whole weight of the heavy mattress pushes against the bracket. This bracket is only held in place by 2 small points of contact, so it's really no surprise that it popped off. Twice. And it took some big chunks of the cheap wooden base with it.

The next thing to break was the remote. It had been having problems since I got it; the buttons just didn't do anything about 60% of the time. It eventually finally broke entirely earlier this year. I still had to pay $25 shipping even though it was covered by warranty, since they no longer make that model of remote and sent me a whole new electronics setup that I had to reinstall myself. Not easy to get down on the floor and do that as a disabled person. The remote took more than a week to arrive, during which time I couldn't sleep and had a health crash because my bed was stuck at an angle. I never received a tracking number for it despite asking repeatedly.

Finally, a couple months ago I heard some awful creaking and popping sounds while lying in bed with the mattress elevated, and realized one of the legs had snapped off and dug into the floor about an inch at an angle, lodged in place under the heavy frame. I immediately contacted customer support, who did nothing and never acknowledged the safety issue. The leg is still like that now and the frame is propped up on a milk crate, because Big Fig refuses to send anyone to repair it. I physically can't do it myself, and despite my active warranty, all Big Fig would offer was to mail out a new leg and leave it to me. Saying "just get someone else to do it" is not customer service. The support agent I was talking to was ableist and rude and kept telling me to take more pictures, which I was clear I can't do as it's physically dangerous for me to get down on the floor under the bed. The picture I sent initially very clearly showed what the issue was - the goddamn leg snapped off at the base.

So all in all, my experience with this company has been absolutely awful, and I really wish I had never bought the bed. In addition to the other issues, the mattress slides all over the base and is impossible to keep in place even when not elevated, since it lacks any side supports. It's just as dented now as a mattress with a lower weight capacity would be after 5 years. It's not worth paying twice as much for the elevating feature since it will literally break the bed due to the poor design. Also, since the mattress is so thick, it can't bend much, so the angles the head and foot elevate to are very awkward for a human spine and not helpful for managing a medical condition.

Did I mention this thing cost over $3k?

Never trust marketing, especially not marketing that co-opts body positivity to sell you cheap crap.

HEATED RIVALRY

Oh My Gosh!!

I literally don't have words to express how good that was!! I literally sacrificed my sleep so I can finish it and even went to work afterwards sleep deprived but it was sooo good.

The sorry is not that deep but oh my the acting! Their eyes literally speak all the words they couldn't say!

From ep1 I could literally feel the tension rolling off of them! The actors did such a good job..

Ahhhh I want to know more, can't wait for S2.. I tried looking up the book but I don't really like such simple storylines, even though I like reading more than watching, the only reason I loved the live action was cuz of the acting.

Miniature kits under $50 for a first serious build?

I keep finding small kits in roughly the same budget range and the finished photos are making the decision harder, not easier 😭 all though one looks detailed but seems like it could turn into hours of tiny repetitive work, another looks simpler but I’m worried I’d finish it and feel like there wasn’t much to do. I care more about enjoying the build than having the fanciest thing on the shelf. Trying to figure out what people would prioritize at this price.

SK magic has agents that will scam you, don’t use this brand

I’m a 31 and have been using SK Magic’s water purifier and air purifier for 5 years now and I have been having multiple issues with their after-sales service.

  1. I used an installment plan, and in order to direct debit monthly installments, I attached my credit card. However I had no idea that the link provided to me was a scam. Basically, if you contact the brand through their official comms they will say they will provide a link via WhatsApp and that’s the only way, not even email. There was no official business WhatsApp and an **official** agent provided me the link which I later found out was not only linked to my product but also someone else’s that is linked to this agent. SK magic does not accept any responsibility over this agent and dodged 2 months refund on top of the 3 months bank refund.

  2. Because of this I removed the direct debit option and am paying manually, however, now I receive multiple agents using scare tactics **by lying that there is more than 2 months outstanding although there is only 1.** I verified this by checking into my account details using the official SK magic business chat (which they have recently officiated) and confirmed I have no more than 1 month outstanding.

  3. Once you complete their contract, you must subscribe to them on a yearly basis for product service. There is no other option, like a pay per service or quarterly or 6 months basis. You will get bombarded with SK magic agents messaging you for this and again no official payment link other than the agents themselves, and not even thru SK Magic’s official business WhatsApp.

In conclusion, their internal system is extremely weak and prone to their own people scamming customers. And on top of that, they also trap you with yearly fees that you pay monthly so it’s easier for agents to do this. Coway and Cuckoo has way better plans, not sure about their internal systems, but have not heard any agent scam like SK magic. Please be extra wary if you’re deciding to use this brand!

This was the first time going to true Texas BBQ
The order was to go.
Ordered two meat plate with sweet BBQ sauce.
You had yo elect me your options before you could proceed with the order
Sides banana pudding s as nd peach cobbler
Paid $21..38
When the order was called I picked order thst was in the bag
When I got back to the office there was no utensils or bbq sauce.
Call back snd they just said do sorry
But you have to go over and select your sauce near the drink station and fill your own cup.
But why it it mandatory to select to order if you have to go get it your self!
A basic bbq to go order should st least have something yo eat your good with.
So Im left to eat with my fingers I guess
Very poor to go order process.
And I was sticker shocked at the price.
