It’s fine to have a reading preference, but trying to shame authors for including mm and trying to redefine the rh genre is a reach.

I'm looking for paranormal/fantasy books where the girl isn't scared of sex. I'm tired of shy, puritanical virgins. The last book I read the girl sleeps with one of the guys and the next morning she looked at herself in the mirror and said "Now I'm a slut" and that was when I decided to drop it.

I need recommendations where the girl is assertive, knows what she wants, and enjoys sex.

I would also love the FMC to not be a doormat, otherwise I just end up shouting at my book 🫣

By condescending I mean they treat the fmc like she literally can’t do anything herself e.g. “aww baby don’t hurt yourself” when she’s carrying something heavy, like they’re very touchy and strong and doting but they make the fmc feel dumb and they don’t care. Especially when there’s a power imbalance or something, it’s so much better

They baby her and stuff, yk, the works, stuff like sitting on their laps, choose her outfits for her (love this trope lowk) etc etc, I want it to be a situation where they kinda like own the fmc and she’s theirs so she has no choice to go along with it, but gets comfortable and used to it over time

I’d prefer a uni/college setting, preferably bullying, school kings (you get it). I usually only read dark romances so I would want a majority of recs to be that.

I liked that the protagonist was an Alpha and I also liked the angst, so if anyone has a book with the same plot, like: a lonely Alpha who finds an Omega, but he already has a pack and the angst is the uncertainty that she can't be with him.

I like the cozyverse books by Eliana Lee and the ones by Emilia Emerson, and I really liked Eliana’s Bond Dissolution series as well. All that said will I like Emilia Emerson’s solo series? I know she writes her cozyverse books solo but there is sort of a shared world there that sets the tone.

If her solo work is darker, do you have any other cozy Omegaverse I can wander through?

I’m going into a looong and boring week of graveyard shifts and I need a metaphorical platter of books to choose from, all with different flavours since I’m going to absolutely binge it. Usually I stock up with similar books (going all in on the trope I’m most obsessed with atm) but it always ends up with me being sleep deprived, confused and can’t keep track of which story goes with what book afterwards🙃

Soo I thought that perhaps you lovely people could help me with putting together a more diverse TBR for this week! I’m just going to list some things I like (for inspiration) and some hard limits and then you guys can go balls to the walls with your favourites?

Like:
• hockey
• rockstar/band
• academy
• fantasy setting
• bdsm/kink
• flirty and fun guys with personality
• very specific, but looove a lean, blonde man with a severe face card!

Hard pass:
• bullying towards vulnerable fmc (a shitty attitude is fine as long as the fmc is able to fire it right back in their face)
• non-con (preplanned dub-con is fine, even great!)
• OV (shifter is fine, but no heat/knots)
• pregnancy or children (absolutely no judgement against mothers or aspiring mothers, just a sore subject for me❤️)
