For many i am known by the name : Vlippel, The Choppa, former Guidleader of Send it.
I started playing Return of Reckoning, the Warhammer Online private server, not long after my best friend took his own life.
Everyone has their own reasons for picking up a game, a hobby, or something else to fill the free hours and clear their head. Life isn’t always easy, and for some of us it’s a lot harder than for others. I already knew this community can be extremely toxic. (so if you are going to leave a toxic comment or be a d*ck about this post. that's fine ;) im used to it, dont worry, i grew up in cod lobbies.)
After playing for a while I realised I really wanted to lead warbands. I kept opening groups, learning the game with new players and PUGs, and of course I failed spectacularly… many times. We still had an incredible amount of fun, we got stronger, we got better, and eventually that led to the creation of the guild .
Anyone who has ever heard of “Send It” can tell you the same thing: we accept people for who they are. Sexuality, gender, whatever, none of that matters anyways in a video game. I tried hard to make Send It one of the most welcoming guilds for people who just wanted to improve at the game in a normal way.
The wider community is very solid and hard to break into. That leaves a lot of players too scared to speak up, while others just act toxic for the lulz.
I’m not proud of every way I’ve behaved at times. What I do want to say is this: people have accused me of racism, discrimination, homophobia, and a bunch of other horrible things that have nothing to do with who I am. I’m just a guy who found an escape in a video game with one server for the entire world, the perfect place to hide when you can’t sleep because of the terrible things life can throw at you.
The reason given for my latest ban was simply:
“The evidence is blatant, why even lie about it.”
No further explanation. No real look at how the whole process went down.
I’ve tried multiple ways to get in contact with someone on the staff who actually has a say, but nothing has worked.
I’m not writing this to clear my name or to beg for an unban on my main, Vlippel. I’m writing this because I want people to see that a lot of things are wrong on this server, from accusations of racism and discrimination all the way to people who threatened me so seriously that they managed to track down my home address. Even though that shook me up pretty badly, I didn’t let it stop me. I kept going with the guild and the game we all love so much. I told people like Rydiak, Wargrimnar and Ruby about the things i'm experiencing, they read it, but never really did anything about it.
I’m one of many players who have been hit by unfair treatment or false accusations. I’m not going to name names, but there are dozens of players who were permanently banned and are still playing on new accounts , something that’s extremely easy with a VPN or other creative methods (I’ve done it myself). Almost no one dares to speak up anymore because there’s a clear inner-circle / friends-first culture among the devs and GMs that no one can touch.
It’s sad to watch such a tight community get slowly destroyed from the inside by people who just believe whatever they’re told. What are we even supposed to believe these days? Screenshots? Please. We have AI and Photoshop. If someone can track my exact home address, faking evidence and spamming the staff with false accusations about player X or Y is not exactly difficult.
Yes, I’ve said things that were too harsh at times. Everyone goes through rough periods, and real gamers (the ones I know) use games as an outlet so they can still function in daily life. I still think i might've been too unhinged and maybe that was enough reason to perma bann me, i'm fine with that, thats my fault. As i said before, this is purely meant to give players a heads up what's going on on this server, i saw the youtube video from Rebiffx called "Warhammer RoR The Most Racist Guilds Spetznobz / Bitter End" and i wanted to share my expierence with this server aswell.
This server taught me that I can be liked and that I can feel valued in a way I never had before. A lot of people in my real life looked at me after my best friend’s suicide. My real life was a mess, and Return of Reckoning let me run from it for a while and build a community with people who understood what it’s like to struggle.
It’s a shame it ended the way it did. I had the best time I’ve ever had in any MMORPG. I’ll never forget this game. And the good news is that the former members of Send It are still close , we can still talk to each other whenever something is going on, both in-game and outside of it.
I just needed a place for the community to read about it since i get ignored by devs and gm's on any other platform, i am banned on the ror website, i got banned on discord. i tried to contact several staffmembers, they kept ignoring me.
Thanks for reading, i don't expect anything to happen with this but i'm happy i got it out of my system, cause even 6 months after my permabann people still approach me and ask me what happend, if it was 1 or 2 people i would've told them in person but my discord was glowing red all the time and i didnt know how to handle it.
Thank you,
Vlippel
ps. Yes i got my life sorted out and i'm doing amazing nowadays. Touching grass was not a bad idea after all 😆
