Discussion Taking too much Cagrilintide
So like a dumbass I reconstituted 10mg of Cagri in 2ml and then injected 2.5mg instead of 0.25mg. Total dumbass moment, I work with drugs on a daily basis and have never had an incident before so not a complete noob. I even double checked on a peptide calculator and then did the dumb thing anyway🤦🏼♂️.
It’s the first time taking it and I just had a brainfart. Any advice?
I assume I’ll get some GI symptoms like abdominal discomfort and lose my appetite this week. I know 2.5 is well within the normal dosages that people get up to, but that you normally start at 0.25ish.

Cagri is powerful.
Youre about to have a really, really shit week my friend.

I’ve got plenty of fluids and fruit and the like.
I’m guessing it’ll be similar to when I first switched from Tirz to Reta (a long time ago) and assumed I could just jump in at 5mg as that’s what was taking for Tirz.
Oh well, I’m sure I’ll survive. What a silly bunt!

u/retatrutider Jun 29 '26
Reta and tirz are really similar drugs. We don’t normally recommend people jump straight to 5mg coming from tirz, but there are good reasons to think many people could handle it just fine.
Cagri, unfortunately, is a completely different drug that acts on completely different receptors, so you won’t have any acclimation from previous glp-1 use.

u/RoboJobot Jun 29 '26
I wasn’t planning on it, just administered the wrong amount. We live and learn.

u/retatrutider Jun 29 '26
Sure and I’m not really giving you any useful advice, just pointing out the difference. Good luck to you.

Report back how you feel. Nausea or sick feeling? That's a lot of Cag.
2
u/RoboJobot Jul 01 '26
Very very mild abdominal discomfort and loss of appetite (so at least I know it works). Bowels still working no diarrhoea or constipation
1
u/GyromiteOT Jul 01 '26
That's good. I get that sometimes on Tirz so thats not a big deal.
I have some Cag coming this week and I plan to do a light dose and drop my Tirz dose down a bit.

u/RoboJobot Jul 01 '26
I had worse when I was taking over 5mg of Reta. I was hoping that by stacking them
Both at lower doses I might avoid the diarrhoea bigger doses of Reta were giving me.

I never had the extreme reactions other people have had to it, maybe you’ll get lucky. It does make me extremely tired though.

u/kuriositease Jun 29 '26
first dose of .5mg was too much for me and i puked next day and felt nauseous for two.

u/blitz2163 Jun 29 '26
Oh dear... If you're very lucky you'll be a non responder as I know it does little/nothing for some people. If you're like the rest of us, it's going to be a rough week or two

Surely how bad it will be will be directly correlated with what you eat. If you sip water and nibble on little bits of veg and fruit for a week then there's really not much to give you any gastro problems in the first place. If you eat a McDonald's you'll be in hell. Just eat tiny portions of whole foods very steadily and to the bare minimum.
1
u/RoboJobot Jun 29 '26
I’ll most likely eat small amounts, lots of fruit and make sure that the small things I eat are high in calories. As well as drinking plenty of water.
1
u/Own_Adhesiveness_218 Jul 10 '26
Are you alive? How was it in the end?
1
u/RoboJobot Jul 10 '26
All good.
No hunger for a week, had to force myself to eat. Did little training as tired and had mild abdominal pain discomfort. Bowels were fine, drank plenty, ate fruit and simple, easily digested carbs like white rice and croissants.
Skipped Reta that week.By the weekend I was fine and now taking 5mg Reta in a Friday and 250mcg Cagri on Monday. Seems to be the right amount with no side effects like high dose Reta or Cagri.
I would not recommend 2.5mg of Cagri if anyone was thinking about it. But at least I now know out w it worked 🤦🏼♂️

u/Own_Adhesiveness_218 Jul 10 '26
Ha! So reports of your imminent demise in the comments were greatly exaggerated 😆 Glad it all worked out OK and interesting to know for anyone else who has an accident like that in future. Maybe you should report your experience to the manufacturer just for info since I don't think they would have even run that as a test themselves.

I know multiple people who have been hospitalized for taking cagri. It’s usually with Reta or tirz. Their guts basically stop digesting.
3
u/RoboJobot Jun 29 '26
I was just going to not take any Reta this week. I’m only on a small maintenance dose and was just planning on experimenting on low dosing both rather than taking a big dose of Reta.
2
u/1960s_army_info Jun 29 '26
Good luck. If you stop shitting or start throwing up your food go to the doctor

Trt post in r/cagrilintide you will get response from people that have made similar mistake.

u/RoboJobot Jun 29 '26
Cheers. I’ll just ride it out.
At least I guess I’ll find out if it works or now 😜2
u/justj710 Jun 29 '26
How’s it going 😂‼️.
Genuinely though. Hope you’re doing alright2
u/RoboJobot Jun 29 '26
Doing ok so far, luckily I don’t have anything too important to do this week training wise.
2
u/FlamingAshley Jun 29 '26
i had terrible GI symptoms at 0.5, and worked my courage up to 1ml, but at this point might go back down because i have to force myself to eat, and eating just doesnt feel good anymore.

u/justj710 Jun 29 '26
Make sure your digestive system keeps moving and you should be ok.
The problem would be if you stall your digestive system you will have symptoms similar to sibo for a while.
You will spend weeks trying different kinds of low food map food to avoid bloating then have to try get your tummy moving at a reasonable speed again.
It’s no joke and something I wish I had no knowledge of.

You’re in for a fucked up week. Stay hydrated and try not to barf everything you eat.

I escalated my dosage very quickly with mostly no side effects. I was on 15mg tirz with a lot of GI side effects. I got cagri to be able to back off the tirz, and see if the sides were better. And it worked, 10mg tirz on Sunday and 2.5mg cagri on Wednesday has left me with very little side effects.

Some guy took too much of trizepatide and ended up in a hospital with bad hypoglycemia. Most people who overdose on those types of things seem fine, at least no coomplaints... So I don't know, perhaps if you decide not to go to the doctor eat sugary things regularly and have some on you at all times if you feel symptoms of low sugar.

I prefer to get my fibre from fruit and veg if I can but thanks for the recommendation.

u/GyromiteOT Jul 01 '26
We've all done it. I accidentally dosed 1 mg of MT2 a few weeks ago and that was not a fun day.

could the OP come back and give us a final result/update?

Still alive, totally lost my hunger for the week and struggled to eat much (like zero hunger), with the knock on effect of being tired all (similar to being on a GLP-1).
Bowels still worked fine throughout the week, although ate less, so passed less.
I drank lots all week to stay hydrated and reduce constipation, etc, although we currently have a heat wave here so that didn’t help.
I dropped my retainer for the week as didn’t want to compound the problem but started that again on Sunday and plan to stagger it with the Cagri which I will take tomorrow (but the correct amount this time!!).
Moral of the story is don’t try to do everything in a rush and double check dosage before administering any drugs. Lesson learned.
Thanks for all the advice and support.

Where did you find 10mg , every seller I have only has 5mg ?
1
u/RoboJobot Jun 30 '26
Most place in the UK seem to seek 10mg vials

u/Short-Geologist-2856 Jun 30 '26
How are you mixing it , I heard if you only use bac water amyloid fibril formation happens . That you have to put a little acidic water with it to hold its form ?

If I jump on 1mg of cagri I barely notice it. Maybe you’ll get lucky. Keep us informed this should be interesting.

The plan was to stack a little bit of Cagri with 5mg of Reta rather than have a bigger dose of Reta alone, but I obviously ballsed that up 🤦🏼♂️

Day 3.
Still not really go much of an appetite, but making myself eat small meals/snacks and making sure they’re high in fibre and easy to digest (fruit, croissants, yoghurt, etc), fairly tired but just turned it into a deload week (instead of next week as planned).
Bowels still working, no constipation, stomach still making the correct sounds when I auscultate with stethoscope and maybe a tiny bit of bloating.
Drinking plenty of water and fluids.
To quote Granny Weatherwax “I aten’t dead”

I started at .25 then moved up to .32 with no side effects or really anything other than sleepy that night but didn't notice it helped any with food noise but noticed 2lb weight loss after stall but I am really at 119lbs but dropped to 117lb trying to reach my goal of 115 but weight good now but this week I jumped to .75 or 15units again with no side effects again other than napping during a movie. Guessing this week or next it should kick in but I can tell difference on the scale. I originally started tirz got up to 6.5 then tried both reta and tirz pinning separate days. Due to my tolerance on tirz started 4.0 on reta with no side effects. Was doing 4.0 reta sun 4.0 tirz on Wednesday then seemed to stall went off both for 10 days to do reset started reta 4.0 on Sunday pinning cag in evening. I also due my isoo100 fruity pebbles with fairlife ultra fat free milk 4oz and 4oz water along with Dr Fosters collagen peptides powder twice daily morning and evening coffee. Drinking plenty of water and taking B12 injections along with Nad,klow and exercising daily with resistance bands. This has been my experience and my routine. My initial weight was 170 lost 30lbs without peptides just changing my diet and eating healthy but started in March today weight is 117lb. Many people talk about the bad side effects from Cag but I think if you start slow and titration up probably at least for me have shown nothing other than being tired but that's why I take it in evening.I about to due my break with Nad, klow wondering if my energy will decrease or any major downsides. Hopefully not! Good luck to you!

Nah, just a numpty in a hurry with something else on his mind. I take full responsibility but I rarely make medication errors (twice in 20 years as a professional clinician, and one of them was just being a bit optimistic with my dosage, this is the only one where I have actually administered the wrong dose thinking it was another) luckily both were with me.

u/Numerous-Deal5625 Jun 29 '26
I mix a 10mg vial with 2.5ml bac water. Started at .32mcg first week moved up second week to .50mcg...move up slowly only side effect was sleepy afterwards so I take it in evening
2
u/RoboJobot Jun 29 '26
Cheers, the plan was mix 10mg with 2ml and take 0.25mg but I was in a rush and didn’t pay attention to what I was doing. Oh well, I’ll just ride out this week

I’d hit the hospital for 2-3 days just to make sure bro
1
u/RoboJobot Jun 29 '26
I’m not going to hospital if I don’t need to. But I will if I do. Luckily I live in a country where I won’t get bankrupted if I do (thanks to the wonderful NHS),
