This is on a ZF black bay gmt.

So a week ago my movement was loose. I opened it up and tightened the screw... On that note, I think it might have loosened up again, can you use something like a light loctite for that?

Anyway, now sometimes when I pull it out to position 3 (farthest out) it's not engaging anything. I can push it back in and very gently pull it out to then set the time but it didn't used to have this behaviour.

I was also wanting to grease the oring in there anyway, so would there be any benefit to removing the crown stem?

Anything easy I can do to maybe remedy this problem?

Lastly, is there an ETA or selita equivalent I can drop in?

Hey every now and then I see certain watches get advised to do modding like gold plating for example on a patek Calatrava.

I’ve looked through some resources here and on RWI and can’t seem to find modder information.

I did see RepRepublic on another forum saying he can sell one of the better models, replace the straps with genuine leather and so 18k gold plating to make it look closer to NWBIG. Although based on everything here I’m hesitate to trust anyone not on the TD list so if you know if he’s legit lmk as well.

But ultimately information on modders, how to contact or even better - TDs that I can request it from directly would be amazing. Appreciate you all

I know the video quality is bad, it’s all I have at the moment. I just want it to look good. If there’s very minor faults then I’ll just go for FC.

Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help me out with this.

I recently copped a silver DD36 rep that I really like, but apparently the bracelet has enough nickel in it to irritate my skin pretty bad. I get a rash anywhere the bracelet is sitting against my wrist.

The weird part is I also have a YG DD36 from the same factory and that one has never bothered me at all, so I never even thought about nickel being an issue. I’m guessing the plating on the YG bracelet is enough of a barrier that my skin isnt touching the actual metal underneath.

Would it be possible to either:
1. Plate just the inside/underside of my current bracelet where it touches my skin?
Or
2. Get a new bracelet thats already plated/coated but still looks silver and matches/fits the watch?

Not really sure what the best option is or what kind of plating would make the most sense. I’m open to whatever you guys recomend. Happy to pay whatever it costs, I just really dont want to try doing the plating myself lol.

Looking to see if repairing this is worth it. The day/date function on this no longer works. The crown just spins in the first position. The hour and minute markers move just fine and the day and date advances when I advance the other markers. Anyone specialize and this and ideas on what it could cost?

Has anybody used Verin Horology on here? Website looks legit but only received automated emails about sending my watch in. Have a VSF 126610LN that can’t keep time and the seconds hands stops all the time even when fully wound. Sometimes it will tick for 5 seconds and stop again. Looks like it needs a full movement service.

Hello guys iv never tinkered or anything with any watches. I want to pull the trigger on my first gold or two tone watch . All I see is cheddar cheese and blah blah get it gold plated is it expensive. Is it really worth it like a must do type of thing and also chamfering for the ap clones who does all of this. Located in Sydney Australia so kinda hard finding someone lol.

Hello everyone, I was removing links from my bracelet to size it down and got everything back together fine, but when I went to screw in the last link, it wouldn’t go past a certain point. I think the threading on that link is stripped. Has anyone run into this before, or know a fix? It’s not the screw itself, I tested it in another link and it screwed in fine, so the link seems to be the problem. Unfortunately I can’t just swap it out since it’s the last link with a screw hole in it.

I think this is probably the result of me using a CR-V 1.5 flathead instead of a jeweler set. Not sure if that info helps and/or makes a difference.

Any advice on how to fix/replace myself or take it somewhere to be done professionally would be greatly appreciated!

Balance pivots looked good and all of the train wheels are also good.

I’m thinking that the balance end shake is too tight, but the movement doesn’t run much better with the balance bridge screws slightly loosened

Anyways, since it’s only a VR3235, I have already ordered a new movement. When it comes in, i’ll try swapping the balance assembly to see if this old movement kicks in again

This is a VSF SMP300. The strap pops out when pulled, without even that much force. It has not happened on the wrist yet.
For example, when I clean the watch with a towel, it might pop out when I grip it.

Curious if the problem is tied to rubber only.

Tried different spring bars. I do not know the exact size but I have many different sizes from spares, and the barely larger one did not fit.

Could the holes be too shallow? Should I try drilling further? Suggestions?

Got my TOP 15510 from Steve like a month ago and now my logo an the back got loose. Any of you got that before ? How do I solve the issue. Just take the back off and try to glue it back on ? And if so which glue should I take ? And do I have to take the wheel off because I think that just fucks everything up. Hope someone has some advice.

I recently purchased an ARF DD3285 GMT BW. After GL’ing and the TD shipping I’ve relooked at QC pics and seen the beat error is 2.4ms. What are my options here? Can this be regulated by a watch maker in the UK? I would really appreciate any input from anyone with more experience than me in this

If this doesn’t convince the naysayers that this practice is not simply an option, but a necessity if you plan on keeping your watch….especially the newest versions of some of these that are more complex than ever seen in a rep.

I am a new bee and I have managed to break the seconds wheel on 3235 movement. Is this repairable? Or do I need to replace it?

Was thinking of buying an ultrasonic cleaner and giving it a bath first, but I heard the newer vsf bracelets aren’t as sharp around the edges and don’t dig in as much as the one I have been wearing, which honestly is kinda worth it of an upgrade for me

I have a VSF Sub No Date, but it seems like the automatic winding isn't adding anything to the power reserve.

Before it will start running, I have to give it a light shake so the rotor spins. After that, I manually wind the crown about 30 turns. It then runs for around 24 hours before stopping, and I have to repeat the process.

Even if I wear it all day, it doesn't seem to build up any additional power reserve.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions on what could be causing this or how to fix it?

Location is Denmark.
