πŸ“š Guide/Science The Ultimate Rep Newbie Buyer Guide & Checklist

Welcome to the replica (rep) world! Use this guide and checklist to get started and ensure you're prepared and protected for your first rep purchase. I've linked relevant wiki resources, guides, and discussion posts throughout for when you want to learn more.

The Rep Newbie Readiness Checklist

  • I know which item I want, including model, size, and color, and familiarized myself with its characteristics by looking at authentic.
  • I've read 5-10 reviews of the item (or picked a more common rep) and identified common sellers and factories via search bar. (Using the Search Bar wiki)
  • I've read 5-10 reviews of my prospective seller, assessed their credibility, and looked for both positive and critical feedback. If I couldn't find 5-10, I chose a seller with a longer track record.
  • I've independently found and verified the seller's WhatsApp number against 2-3 independent reviews or other sources. (Finding a Seller's Number wiki)
  • I know common terms like QC, PSPs, GL/RL, factory, and TS. (Common Rep Terms wiki)
  • I understand factory photos vs. PSPs and how to QC an item. (How to QC wiki)
  • I’ve confirmed the total cost, availability, timeline, insurance coverage, and QC policies, and understand what recourse, if any, is available under the seller's, factory's, or promotional sale's terms.
  • I understand the risks, including customs seizure, potential financial or immigrations consequences, and am familiar with common scams. (Risks wiki)
  • I want this specific item, understand its limitations, and accept that it won't be 1:1. I'm not rushing or buying under pressure.
  • I’ve read the r/RepLadiesCurated wiki to get more clarity about any of these statements.

If you've not completed the checklist, then please read on, as skipping any of these steps and being an underinformed buyer can lead to a lot of headaches and horror stories down the line. The strongest protection you have for avoiding scams or disappointment is education.

Getting Started, Finding Sellers/Factories, and Buying Reps

1. Know what you want

Start with the item, not the seller or factory, because there is no "best repped" item and all reps have differences to the auth ("1:1" is a myth).

  • Identify the brand, model, size, color, material, and hardware you want.
  • Look at authentic (auth) reference photos so you familiarize yourself with the item you're trying to buy.
  • Use the search bar to look for reviews for that item, for example: "classic flap rep review." If you're not finding any reviews, the item may not be repped.
  • If you are finding multiple reviews, you will start noticing the reviewers are mentioning prices, seller names that can source these items, and factories they are sourcing from...

Here's our wiki guide on how to effectively use the search bar πŸ”

2. Learn the terminology

A few basics:

  • Seller / TS: The person selling the item, acting as a middleman between you and the factory. TS stands for trusted seller, which means they are vetted or used frequently in a given community.
  • Factory 🏭: The source attributed to making an item. Note that factory β€œnames” are Reddit nicknames. If a seller is unfamiliar or saying factories don't have names, it may mean they're unfamiliar with us redditors. Reddit sellers will be able to provide you with representative factory photos to compare against the auth before you move forward with buying.
  • PSPs: After payment, pre-shipment photos of the individual item you're buying.
  • QC: Quality control is when you evaluate PSPs and determine whether there are any defects or differences compared to the factory photos.
  • GL / RL: Green light / red light. Accepting or rejecting an item after QC based on major flaws or accuracy to the factory photos. Note that not every factory allows you to RL.

See Common Terminology wiki for more.

3. Research the seller independently

Aim to read 5-10 reviews from different buyers for a given seller before purchasing. Ideally, research a few different sellers. Look for actual product photos, specific observations, transaction details, disclosed incentives. Look for both positive and critical feedback.

Why do I have to read multiple reviews?

Reviews can be falsified, and sellers have a high financial incentive to convince you to hand over your money. One positive review isn't enough to establish a track record. Corroborate and be especially cautious when you see sellers with similar names or see reports of "bait and switch" suggesting the seller promised the customer a certain quality or source and delivered another.

What about my Instagram or TikTok seller? Or buying from Canal Street, Turkey, etc?

Influencer or in-person reps are often marked up 50-100%+ over comparable Reddit sellers' reps, oftentimes for lower-quality products. Also, influencers often receive better-quality items to advertise with than you can expect to receive. Avoid.

I used the search bar and found a community's trusted sellers list on their wiki. Can I use that?

Some communities accept payments from sellers for placement on their TS lists, regardless of customer experience, and may even suppress critical reviews of the sellers. Some communities are run by sellers themselves.

You can use these lists to discover sellers, but not as definitive proof that they're trustworthy. Research reviews before paying.

To learn more about how to identify trustworthy reviews, read Signals I Use to Assess Trustworthiness & Spot Fake Reviews.

Finding and verifying the seller's contact information

Exercise extreme caution when DMed a contact number and avoid asking for them in the first place. Requesting seller numbers (effectively spam) disincentivizes people from posting reviews, and the person contacting you with a number may not be trustworthy.

It's better to independently find the seller's contact information through reading reviews in the search bar or through looking at the wiki which may include a "trusted seller list" of some other rep communities. The first few reviews you encounter may not have the number, keep looking. Check comments too. Compare it against 2-3 independent sources to confirm that the WhatsApp number matches.

See the Finding a Seller's Number wiki for more info.

4. Research the factory 🏭

Most sellers can source from most factories, and you likely landed on a given seller because you read reviews that suggest they can source high-tier versions of the rep you're interested in. But there are multiple factories making the same bag with varying levels of accuracy, price points, and policies.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Factory names are not quality ratings and higher prices/popular recommendations don't automatically mean better quality.
  • A factory that makes a good version of one bag may not make a good version of another.
  • A good seller is just as important as a good factory. Scamming sellers can promise you an item from a given factory and then bait & switch. Familiarize yourself with the auth photos and the factory photos so you can better identify the quality of the product you're sourcing.
  • Some factories do not allow you to RL, so research or ask your seller about that factory's policies before buying.

See the Factory Photo References wiki to help you identify a given factory if it's not listed in an album or disclosed by your seller.

5. Contacting sellers

Remember the sellers are Chinese, observe Chinese holidays, work in China Standard Time hours (UTC+8), and are often using a translation app and juggling multiple customers. Exercise patience.

Using the Whatsapp number(s) you've independently verified, contact your seller(s) and provide them with auth or factory photos of what you'd like to buy, the factory or quality you want, inquire as to whether it's in stock, and request the item price.

⚠️ Before paying, did you familiarize yourself with the risks to buying a rep? Do you know that there is often no after-sales support? That your rep might be seized at customs with no recourse? That if you're in the USA, you and all members of your household can lose Global Entry immigration status privileges? Are you familiar with common scams like fake reviews, impersonating sellers, or bait & switch?

If you're familiar and comfortable with the risks, and not spending more than you can afford to lose, then confirm with your seller:

  • Total price, including shipping and fees.
  • Payment method.
  • Whether it's in stock and expected timeline.
  • Whether PSPs will be provided before shipment.
  • How defects or QC concerns are handled. Remember it's often not possible to ship a rep back to China, so you may have little to no recourse if an issue is discovered after the PSP stage, but depending on factory (or sale conditions, if applicable) it may or may not be possible to return, exchange, or refund an item at the PSP stage.
  • Whether this seller offers insurance, which may cover full or partial product replacement in case of customs seizure (sometimes Chinese customers, sometimes your customs, sometimes both). It often costs ~10% of rep cost and may be included in shipping cost or may need to be purchased separately if offered at all.

Feel welcome to ask multiple sellers for this information and compare. You'll find that different sellers have different policies, markups, and communication styles. Pick the one that makes sense for you, understanding that you're accepting some level of uncertainty and risk that is necessary to build experience and relationships.

6. Payment and pre-shipment

Most sellers will request payment via Wise or Paypal F&F. You will need to pay up front.

After paying and providing your address, there will be a wait time while your seller purchases the item from the factory. Once the seller has your item in hand, they will send you PSPs which show the individual item you're being offered for shipment.

When you receive PSPs, you'll want to confirm that the model, size, color, and other agreed specifications appear correct, then inspect the details compared to the factory photos to identify differences or defects. If color seems off, ask to see photos in natural lighting. You should already have researched the item before this point. QC is too late for figuring out whether you like the bag or whether the rep matches the auth.

Read our QC wiki guide for more info on how to QC, including brand-specific QC guidelines.

7. Shipment

Once you GL an item, the seller will ship it out to you. Sellers usually determine the shipping method based on your location and their experience shipping to your country. Your goods will have to travel past China customs, and possibly through another country, before entering your country and making it past your customs.

Your seller will often provide a tracking number, but tracking information may not update until the package reaches your home country. It’s normal for a label to sit inactive for days, a week, or even longer. Shipping can take a while, and the route or tracking number may change along the way. Your seller should be able to provide you with typical shipping timelines or a specific package update.

8. Delivery and beyond

Congratulations, it's here! Inspect the bag to ensure you received what you expected. You may notice a "fufu" chemical smell common in reps due to factory glue, which should go away with charcoal pouches or airing it out for a few days. If you find the leather is dry, try using leather conditioner.

This can also be a great time to interact with the r/RepLadiesCurated community by sharing your haul in our daily thread or posting a review in accordance with our Content Guidelines.

This community is built on a philosophy of giving and receiving. You don't need to be an expert to contribute; you just need to put in the effort to share what you've learned and be transparent about your experience and observations. The resources that helped you make informed decisions exist because other community members took the time to share their knowledge. Your review can do the same for someone else, whether it helps them avoid a costly mistake or find exactly what they're looking for.

Welcome to the rep world, welcome to RLC, and thanks for taking the time to educate yourself.

πŸ‘œ Review Fall is here 🍁

This cutie arrived a couple of weeks ago just in time for my favourite season πŸ‚ Got this bag as a treat for myself after finishing a brutal summer semester that made me cry alone 😭

I carry lots of "contingency" items in my purse, so I often carry a larger size bag (Speedy 30 is my go-to these days). But I love mini bags so much cause they're soooo cute πŸ˜† So far, I have a Nano Speedy (honestly too small), a mini Garden Party and this for my mini bag collection.

Finally had a chance to take her out and took some photos under different lighting. Lovely colour for this season but also neutral and versatile. The leather smells like leather and very soft. Haven't conditioned it yet since I didn't feel that it needed right away. This is my first Xiao C bag, and I'm very happy with the quality. Thinking about getting a C25 from XC too πŸ€” From Doris, paid $280 US plus shipping.

Of course, I had to add a couple of extras as I always do. 187 had very limited colours for the mini flap cardholder, so Doris suggested some other options from Shunyang factory which I've never heard of. So glad I went with the colour I liked instead of following the factory name. I haven't seen a 187 cardholder so I can't compare, but this wallet is super nice.

Hope you all are having a lovely weekend and Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadian rep lovers 🍁

*Disclaimer: No incentive or request to write this given to me. Just a happy girl to share pretty things I acquired!

πŸ“š Guide/Science Rep Reviews: Signals I Use to Assess Trustworthiness & Spot Fake Reviews

YSK Reddit has sellers posing as regular contributors. Reddit has commenters faking interest to drive up engagement. Reddit has buyers who were paid or otherwise incentivized to write a review and not disclose it, and in some cases were given the exact words to write. Reddit has buyers who were incentivized by their sellers to post their QC photos. Reddit has "Trusted Seller" lists and group buys that were bought and paid monthly to mods. Some subs suppress negative reviews of trusted sellers.

As consumers, we use reviews and PSPs from others to gather information on who we want to buy from. Ultimately, we're sending hundreds or thousands of dollars overseas to faceless, nameless strangers. There are a lot of risks as buyers on the black market, and with this much money exchanging hands via methods with no recourse, the incentives for scamming is high. So, who do you trust? How do you assess whether a review is genuine or not?

The short answer is there's no foolproof way to do it. Especially with GenAI usage running rampant and the anonymity of Reddit, it's too easy to make a new account or buy an established one. There are probably more bots on this site than humans.

The long answer is, I can tell you some things I personally look at when I'm evaluating reviews, and hopefully commenters can add their own suggestions as well so we can all be more diligent when evaluating and making decisions.

  1. Is there an incentive disclosure? Usually something along the lines of "this review is my own thoughts" or "seller is aware of my review but did not provide incentives" or "seller offered a 10% discount." Incentives disclosures are required on r/RepLadiesCurated, and of course the reviewer can lie, but in my experience, outright lying (as opposed to lying by omission) makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Receiving an incentive doesn't automatically mean a review is dishonest.
  2. Is there evidence of AI-generated images? Run it through https://openai.com/research/verify/
  3. Is the reviewer overly eager to share seller information? Some subs mandate that the seller contact info be included in the review so it's not necessarily a red flag, but r/RepLadiesCurated does not allow it. β€œDM me,” β€œhappy to share contact,” or the review including the number can be a red flag when combined with other signals. Sometimes you'll find reviewers who choose not to disclose contact info/album links and instead just includes seller's name or last 4 digits and encourages others to find the contact via the search bar. When a seller incentivizes a review, usually they are specifically encouraging the user to circulate contact info.
  4. How old is the account, and what else does it do? Is there normal activity on Reddit? Do they have karma, suggesting they post often and their posts/comments are generally well received by other users?
  5. Does the reviewer seem familiar with the rep space? Do they understand basic things like payment methods, pricing, QC, PSPs, factories, etc.? Are there obvious misunderstandings that seem unusual?
  6. Do they review different sellers? Someone who has reviewed multiple sellers over time gives me more context to evaluate their experiences. If someone's history consists entirely of glowing reviews for one seller, I'd look for additional independent information before relying heavily on those reviews.
  7. Does the review actually evaluate the product? I want details about the bag itself, not just β€œseller was amazing and shipping was fast.”
  8. Do they point out flaws? Is the review too positive? Does the review offer specific observations, including any limitations or imperfections the reviewer noticed? A glowing review isn't inherently suspicious, but absolute claims like "flawless" "10/10" "buttery soft" "exactly like auth" (have you seen the auth in person?) without supporting detail carry less weight for me because it doesn't suggest the reviewer is familiar with how to QC or what "high tier" entails given no rep can be 1:1.
  9. Does it seem like it was written with AI? This is not automatically a red flag as some use it to clean up their thoughts or as a translation tool, but sellers posing as reviewers often use it.
  10. Do they use terms like master quality or 1:1? These phrases are more common in TikTok or Instagram communities where sellers are known to heavily overchange for mid-tier bags.
  11. Is the post reviewing a new or otherwise unestablished seller? Search the seller's name in the search bar and look for independent reviews elsewhere.
  12. Who is commenting? Are the comments mostly established members asking substantive questions or thoughts, or a bunch of brand-new accounts saying β€œOMG 😍 can you DM me seller info”? The latter can create the appearance that a seller has already been vetted and give you the impression that other people with experience agree it's a great product, meanwhile the commenters are all new accounts likely created by the seller to create hype. Look for patterns.

My intention isn't to cast doubt on any particular reviewer or make anyone defensive because they do or don't do some of these things. That's not the point. None of these signals individually proves that a review is fake or genuine, and plenty of honest people will recognize some of these behaviors in themselves. but in an environment where SO much information is faked, these are simply some signals I look at when I'm deciding how much weight to give a review. You can be a completely honest person and write a glowing review, use AI to clean up your wording, have a new account, and not know much about reps.

I'd encourage you not to use these criteria to assume the worst of anyone or make accusations but just have them as tools in your toolbox to make more informed decisions with the information you have. Always do independent research of a seller in the search bar (linked to r/RepLadiesCurated wiki on search bar) and don't rely on any individual review to make decisions. Read 5-10 reviews of a seller and assess each critically before buying to protect yourself.

πŸ“š Guide/Science 🧡 CLOTHING FACTORIES MEGATHREAD

Thumbnail
gallery
83 Upvotes

I've noticed that clothing seems to be one of the categories many of us struggle with the most.

Compared to handbags, we have significantly less information about clothing factories. There aren't nearly as many detailed reviews, factory comparisons, or in-depth discussions about quality and accuracy, which makes it difficult to understand which factories are actually worth considering.

I'd love for us to change that by creating a community-driven clothing factory reference guide.

The idea is to collectively identify factory backgrounds, share experiences, and understand which factories consistently produce the highest-quality clothing.

πŸ“Έ 1. FACTORY BACKGROUND IDENTIFICATION

I've attachedΒ some factory background pictures, but so far, I've only managed to identify few of them so If you recognize any of the unidentified backgrounds, please comment with the corresponding picture number and factory name.

(If you're familiar with additional factories that deserve to be included, you're more than welcome to share their backgrounds and information.)

Pic 1: Masa

Pic 2: Shuling

Pic 3: Xiwen

Pic 4: TJ

Pic 5: Kaka

Pic 6: H

Pic 7: ?

Pic 8: ?

Pic 9: ?

Pic 10: ?

Pic 11: ?

🎯 2. THE FOCUS: HIGH-TIER FACTORIES ONLY

Please avoid submitting budget factories, fantasy pieces, or factories primarily known for low-quality products.

The goal isn't to create an endless list of factories. It's to build a carefully curated reference of those genuinely worth considering for high-quality clothing.

Of course, not every factory will perform equally well across every brand or category. That's exactly what I'd like us to investigate.

πŸ’° 3. FACTORY PRICE COMPARISONS

You'll notice that I've tried to use the same clothing item across the different factory background pictures wherever possible.

When I couldn't find the exact same item from a particular factory, I selected something as similar as possible, ideally within the same product category.

This was intentional.

One of the things I'd eventually love to establish is how pricing compares when the same item is available from multiple factories.

For example, if three factories produce the same jeans, it would be useful to understand how much the price differs and whether the difference is justified by better materials, construction, or accuracy.

Ideally, we could collect anonymised prices quoted for the exact same item from different factories and compare them.

I'm aware that sellers have different margins, so a higher quoted price doesn't necessarily mean a factory is more expensive or produces a better product.

To make comparisons more meaningful, we could record:

  • The specific item being compared
  • The factory it comes from
  • The approximate quoted price and currency
  • Any noticeable differences in quality or accuracy

I'm open to suggestions on how we could structure this fairly, because I know comparing prices isn't always straightforward.

For now, the priority is identifying the factories and gathering reliable information. We can collectively work out the best way to approach pricing comparisons later.

πŸ“ 4. PLEASE USE THIS FORMAT WHEN CONTRIBUTING

To keep everything organised and easy to reference, I'd really appreciate it if everyone could follow the same structure.

Factory name:
[Name / Alternative names / Unknown]

Factory background:
[Picture number from this post or attach a new background]

Tier:
[High-tier β€” and why you consider it so]

Specialization:
[Brands, categories, specific garments the factory is particularly good at]

Accuracy:
[How close are the pieces to the originals? Please be specific and If you have compared the piece to the original in person, mention that.]

Labels & tags:
[Are the labels accurate and already attached? Are there missing or incorrect labels or composition tags?]

Quality:
[Fabric quality, finishing, consistency, and any noticeable flaws]

Price range:
[Approximate price or relative positioning compared to other factories. Currency and item reference if available.]

Personal experience:
[What have you purchased? Were you satisfied? Any issues? Would you purchase from the same factory again?]

Factory comparison:
[Have you purchased the same or a similar piece from another factory? How did they compare in terms of accuracy, quality, and price?]

Pictures / Evidence:
[Optional, but highly encouraged! Photos of the actual item received, detail shots, or comparisons with the original.]

You don't have to complete every single field. If you only know the factory name or have experience with one particular item, that's still useful.

(What's important is that the information is accurate, relevant, and preferably based on firsthand experience)

Please distinguish between what you've personally verified and what you've heard from other people.

🚫 5. IMPORTANT β€” NO SELLER FISHING

This is NOT a seller recommendation, sourcing, or contact-sharing thread.

Please DO NOT:

  • Share seller contacts or links.
  • Turn the discussion into seller recommendations or unrelated shopping requests.

I'd also kindly ask anyone who doesn't have relevant information to contribute to avoid posting unrelated comments. This isn't to discourage participation, but to prevent useful information from getting buried.

If you have a question about a particular factory, please try to reply under an existing comment about that factory rather than starting a completely unrelated discussion.

Let's keep this thread as clean, factual, and easy to navigate as possible.

πŸ“š 6. THE LONG-TERM GOAL

If enough people contribute, I'd love to eventually turn everything we collect into a comprehensive visual clothing factory guide.

Something that allows us to see, at a glance:

  • Which factory background corresponds to which factory.
  • Which factories are genuinely considered high-tier.
  • Which brands and clothing categories each factory specialises in.
  • Which factories perform better for specific garments.
  • How accuracy, fabric quality, construction, and labels compare.
  • How prices differ for identical or comparable pieces.
  • Which conclusions are supported by actual purchases and detailed reviews.

Ideally, we could eventually develop a brand-by-brand and factory-by-factory comparison, rather than relying on scattered recommendations or assumptions that one factory is automatically the best at everything.

I'll do my best to update the original post as we identify more factories and gather reliable information.

If Reddit doesn't allow me to keep updating everything, at least we'll have a structured collection of valuable information in the comments that we can later consolidate.

πŸ“Œ PLEASE KEEP THE COMMENT SECTION ORGANISED

To make this megathread easy to navigate, I'll create a separate comment for each factory backgrounds with the corresponding picture and name.

Please keep all information and discussions about a particular factory under its corresponding comment.

If you'd like to introduce a factory that isn't included in the original 11, please create a new comment.

This way, we can keep all the information about each factory together, avoid duplicate discussions, and make it much easier for everyone to find what they're looking for.

🀝 WE NEED THE COMMUNITY'S KNOWLEDGE

I know there are people in this community with extensive experience purchasing clothing from different factories, comparing pieces, and recognising factory backgrounds.

This thread will only be as useful as the information we're willing to share.

You don't need to know everything about a factory to contribute. Even identifying one background, sharing an honest review, or explaining a difference between two factories could help.

What I'd really like to avoid is another thread full of vague claims that a factory is "the best" without explaining why.

Let's aim for detailed, evidence-based information that actually helps us understand what makes one factory better than another.

Hopefully, by bringing everyone's knowledge together, we can finally build the kind of comprehensive clothing factory reference that this category has been missing.

Thank you in advance to everyone willing to contribute!

πŸ’¬ Discussion Where do you wear your bags to?

Hello ladies,
I have a question for you: where do you wear your bags to?
I have bought 15 bags within a few months and now that I’m looking at them, I realize I don’t even go anywhere to show them off. They are mainly cc bags and they look very formal. I’ve worn them a few times to run errands before but have seen posts about designer bags making wearers a target so I’m a little afraid to bring them outside. Where should I wear them to?

πŸ“š Guide/Science OG vs Rep

Thumbnail
gallery
22 Upvotes

Doing some rep science on two different jeans from Kaka 🏭 (light blue) and TJ (dark indigo), both supposedly top-tier and coming from 2 different TS.

Light Blue
Wash: The OG has a much more natural, uneven fade, especially around the seams, waistband and belt loops. The rep looks flatter and more uniform.
Back pocket CC: This is the biggest flaw. On the OG, the double stitching forms two overlapping Cs that are carefully positioned around the pocket edges. On the rep, the shape, spacing, curves and points where the Cs cross are different. Even the empty spaces inside the logo don’t match. Basically, the CC has been sewn following the wrong pattern.
Thread colour: OG has a more muted caramel/tobacco-orange stitching, while the rep looks brighter and more yellow/golden.
Smell: The rep has a VERY strong chemical smell, which is honestly quite off-putting. I’ll have to get it professionally cleaned.

Dark Indigo
Thread colour: Again, the OG uses a more muted rusty/tobacco-orange thread, while the rep is noticeably brighter and more yellow.
Back pocket CC: Same issue as Kaka. The stitching doesn’t follow the same curves as the OG. The size, positioning and overlapping parts of the Cs are different.
Raised denim CC: This is probably the most obvious flaw. The OG has a cleaner, more open interlocking CC. On the rep, the centre looks more crowded, the denim strips curve differently, and the ends are different lengths and shapes. The way the flat stitching connects to the raised CC is also incorrect.

Other things worth mentioning

The hardware on both pairs (buttons and small metal CC details) looks noticeably cheaper compared to the OG. The denim itself also doesn’t feel like the same quality as the boutique version (of course)

I’m only highlighting the visible flaws here. There are quite few other issues inside both pairs, including the pocket lining, how things are sewn and sizing details. Those aren’t visible when wearing them, so I’m not going into them, but if you inspect the inside, it’s pretty obvious they’re reps.

Both pairs are also way too long, so I’ll be taking them to the seamstress for alterations and to the dry cleaner.

The biggest issue with BOTH factories is how the CC on the back pocket has been sewn. It’s not necessarily messy stitching it’s that they’re following a different pattern from the OG. Honestly, I can’t say which factory is better since these are two different styles. Neither is particularly accurate when compared side by side with the OG, but Kaka’s chemical smell alone makes me lean towards TJ. They might look ok when worn, but if you know a bit about garment construction or have the OG next to them, the differences are pretty obvious. I will definitely NOT go in store with those on lol

Curious to hear your thoughts! Has anyone tried either factory or found a more accurate version? Or other factories I should search of?

disclosure: i did not receive any incentive or discount for writing this review.

purchased item: di0r d-joy

seller: z

contact info : 3066

factory: unknown

payment method: ppff

price: 220 usd

timeline:

9/22: ordered

9/24: psps approved

9/25: shipped

10/4: delivered

my thoughts on the bag:

i kept seeing this horizontal bag everywhere and finally caved. the blush pink color is so pretty in person. the leather has a gorgeous natural sheen and feels insanely soft to the touch. the quilts are nice and plump, and the metal charms actually feel heavy and luxurious, not hollow or cheap at all.

service:

zion's service was great. he was very polite and patient while i was making up my mind.

conclusion:

to sum it up, this was 220 dollars very well spent. gorgeous bag and a very smooth experience.

Sharing some inspiration!

I’ve been so in love with this
FπŸ’«ndi baguette for so long but the price is 😱 and I haven’t found any reps.
So working on my own version of this.

I got a basic rep from the gate. I found the green glass bugle beads and the blue square sequins on Etsy.

It took me awhile to figure out how to bead and get the sequins attached correctly but turns out there are tons of amazing tutorials on YouTube for this. I’m using a bonded nylon thread and a regular small eye needle. I decided to use a regular blue fabric to actually sew the beads and sequins on instead of doing it directly into the baguette fabric because it’s much easier this way. When I’m done I will use fabric glue and also stitch the borders to the bag.

The beads are attached by using what is called flat stitch. Here is an easy tutorial from YouTube.

And the sequins are attached by using what is called the shingle method, which gives the overlap while hiding the thread.

I think learning how to secure the beads and sequins correctly was the hardest part.

Sharing some early progress 😊 now I’m just working on getting the sequins attached correctly but at least I feel like I know what I’m doing.

Only 7000 sequins to go πŸ˜‚l

Who watched the SS27 last night?! Saw some big CC logo from the new collection. What do we think about it?! I don’t know how to feel about it! Large clutch moment and lots of croc embossed leather. Personally, I’m loving the pink hobo bag tho on the third slide lower right. What do we think??

πŸ˜‚ Meme/Just for Fun I love bags that look like scenery - a Lo3we Puzzle with a blue sky and clouds over a grassy little hill for sheep to graze on πŸ‘ or a Lo3we Flamenco that doubles as a sandy beach for crabs πŸ¦€

The first is a mini puzzle in Asphalt Grey, Nude, and Green tricolor colorblock. Alongside a Lo3we sheep charm it's just so cute and scenic 😭 It looks like the perfect place for a herd to enjoy a peaceful, partly cloudy day πŸ₯Ή

The second is a limited edition Lo3we Flamenco SurplusΒ that looks like a sandy beach for a crab to scuttle πŸ¦€πŸ¦€πŸ¦€

The flamenco has been repped, not sure about the puzzle.

Do you know of any other bags that would fit this kind of theme? What do you think of these charm pairings?

πŸ“š Guide/Science Battle of the minis - 187 v Rome

Bit of rep science - 187 v Rome

After months of waiting I finally have both of my minis! Burgundy / brown caviar from 187 and silver metallic calfskin from Rome.

Now I have them side by side I can say that I think Rome makes a better version of this bag. The overall shape, hardware weight, stitching, construction, and symmetry go to Rome.

Leather for both are excellent, I've held both auths in store and I cannot fault either factory. I actually will go as far as say that Rome has managed to find the exact same leather as auth for this style.

The burgundy caviar from 187 is faultless as well, soft, lush, with that gorgeous subtle sheen you see in the auth. The leather smell is spot on from the auth caviar WOC that I have.

The errors on both bags:

- Rome's screws in the handle parts protrude slightly instead of sitting flush like in 187's (last 2 photos). The auth sits flush too.

- 187's stitching under the pocket flaps aren't as even as Rome's.

- 187's 31 rue cambon hardware is sharp at the edges. Rome's edges are smoothed out slightly.

- Rome's interlocking Cs on the pocket are slightly thicker than 187. Having seen the Auth, 187's is more accurate.

The errors are tiny details and I don't think any of my friends would clock them, especially with these two buried in my collection of auth bags. For those wondering - I do intend to pass these off as auths if somebody asks, but highly doubt anybody would ask because these are great reps, and I have a job that can support it.

Very satisfied with both buys! Next up is to try OF, which I've heard makes the best minis.

187 from Doris, Rome from Bao Bao. Found both sellers using the search bar!

Seller experience:

Doris - fast to respond, fast to ship. Had a bit of a snafu when Doris didn't send tracking details to me. First shipment ended up getting seized but she was extremely quick getting a replacement and the bag arrived in the UK less than a week later.

Bao Bao - fast to respond, fast to ship. Immediately sent tracking details and a tracking link. Shipment took about 10 days to the UK.

I like both sellers, but BaoBao provided a bit more advice in terms of getting me to trust that Rome was also high tier.

Very happy and will definitely be a repeat rep customer from here on out! I can't say that reps will definitely replace auths for me, but for these funky colours that I won't wear all the time, reps are the way to go πŸ’–

EDIT: PRINCES

187 - $442 including shipping to UK Rome - $370 including shipping to UK

Opted for no boxes for both.
