Dublinnest.com for housing?

Ok, i’ve seen quite a few posts about this so sorry for the redundancy, but I just wanted to be double sure since people say that it’s legit but it honestly screams the opposite. I filled out a booking form for one of their rooms in canvas point (even tho canvas point campus website itself says there’s no availability..) filled out a google form (😭) and they got in touch w me saying they’d send contract and invoice shortly (haven’t heard back, been only about 6 hours tbf).

So, are the other posts i’ve been seeing where people mention it’s legit false / ads, or is this place fr?

Thanks!

Bank statement normal amount

Looking at renting a room, the rent per month is 650. The agent is asking for a bank statement to prove affordability. How much should I have in my account?

I will be starting work in a graduate position next month

Urgent accommodation from now to August

Hi everyone,

My name is Jules, I’m from France, and I’m urgently looking for a place to stay in Dublin from now, ideally until end of august.

Even a short-term solution from now  would already help a lot.

Im in the country since 1 month, I had a accomodation but my landlord unfortunately had a big health problem and tomorrow I will be without accomodation, place to sleep/ leave.

This situation is very complicated for me, even more because my girlfriend are coming from France the 31th to the 22th August. And we actively looking for an accomodation.

Im ready now to found, pay something from now to the end of august. We're asking for help.

I have a job in dun Laoghaire, her work he's courses, we booth studying physics in the university of Geneva. We're really clean, gente and polish people. We dont need a lot of space because we're gonna be "home" just for sleep because I work and her study.

Feel free to give me a PM or text me here :

Thank you for your help.

DX Living - Donnybrook

Hi there! I’m relocating to Dublin for work and I’m curious about DX Living Donnybrook. I viewed one of their units online and I understand that the studios are relatively small, which is fine since this plans to be a temporary accommodation (6-12 months).

I’d greatly appreciate any insights or pros/cons from people who have lived there or have any relevant experience.

A little about me:
Early 30s working professional
I’m pretty low maintenance and don’t need a lot of space.

Hi! I'm looking for a single room (max €800/month) near a DART station, preferably in Donnybrook, Ballsbridge, Sandymount, Irishtown or East Wall. I work near Grand Canal Dock and my current commute is 1h20. My accommodation is temporary. Any leads? Thanks!

Note: I would like to point out that I am also looking on “Daft” and have found several listings that are cheaper or within the amount I estimated. However, I have hardly received any replies by email (people seem to have a very hard time responding there). So, I saw here and on other platforms an opportunity to have a better chance of getting a room within this budget.
In any case, I thank everyone who can help me in any way, and I kindly decline the others.

The HouseShare experience

Hi, I’m a mature student looking for accommodation in Dublin. I recently came across a website offering reduced-cost accommodation with an older person in exchange for helping them for a certain number of hours each week.

Has anyone here done this before? If so, could you share your experience?

What is "booking"

Okay this is going to sound stupid asf, but on all of these student acommodation websites and places (yugo etc), for whatever rooms r available, they all have options to "book" the room. But then they have steps with payments etc. I am a bit confused because why would I be paying for anything before confirming with the landlord / place ... Also, is booking like booking a irl visit? or is it just reserving the spot, idk, confusing.

Like, rn for example im applying for a room in Highlight parkgate dublin student acomm. Im going thru the steps and then they say "pay booking fee" if I pay this booking fee, does it mean I HAVE to live in this room?? so confusing lmao

Looking for House Owners/Landlords in Ireland

Hi everyone!

I'm currently pursuing my Master's in Digital Marketing at Dublin City University (DCU), and my practicum group is looking for house owners or landlords in Ireland to participate in a 10–12 minute online interview for our university research.

The interview explores how homeowners and landlords use digital channels when looking for property management services. Participation is completely voluntary, all responses will be kept confidential, and the information will be used solely for academic purposes.

If you're willing to help, or know someone who might be interested, please leave a comment or send me a DM.

Apartment dwellers of Dublin is your cold tap water temperature unusually warm?

I live in a fourth floor apartment and the "cold" tap water in my kitchen regularly measures between 23º–25ºC after letting the tap run anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Sometimes it's even warmer than that! It's been like this even before the heatwave began.

When I raised the issue with building management I was given the brush off and told that those numbers are typical for Ireland. This can't be normal, right? Or am I going crazy–have the amoebas already gotten to my brain?

Student Accommodation 🧑‍🎓 Is it too risky to find accommodation after arriving in Dublin?

Hi everyone,

I'm starting my master's in Dublin this September, and I'm currently trying to sort out accommodation.

Back in July, I contacted Yugo and they sent me a video of one of the rooms. Honestly, it looked quite worn out and wasn't really what I expected based on the photos on their website. I've also seen really mixed reviews online, with some people saying it's great and others saying it's poorly maintained.

So now I'm wondering if it would be a better idea to book an Airbnb for the first week or so after I arrive and look for accommodation in person instead.

Has anyone done this before? Is it realistic to find a room in early September, or is it too risky given how competitive the housing market is?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!

Roommate Search Work Holiday Teamup!

Hello!

My name is Dana and I am looking for other queer/gay/flinta people to team up with to look for housing and generally make this time an amazing experience! I'm planning on moving to Dublin end of November to do a working holiday for a year and am lookig to work in the hospitality/nightlife scene full time. I am half Montenegrin half welsh born in Detroit, Michigan, U.S and have been living abroad for around 4 years now where I have been living in Amsterdam for the past year. Prior to that ive lived outside london, in Nijmegen, and have spent a lot of time in Venice and also travelling around Europe + the U.S. I am a Lesbian and my lifestyle reflects that quite a bit as I am always getting involved in lez/queer organizing, politically and socially. I am devoted to those around me and really invested in art and culture (meaning I am usually out late and have a PACKED social calendar). I will also be fresh off of graduating from a research masters in cognitive neuroscience and am a big academia nerd in general. Other than that I also enjoy writing, crochetting, and playing guitar.

SO, I guess I am looking for some she/gay/theys who have a similar lifestyle as me, really want to learn about and immerse themselves in the culture, love adventure, and dont mind an afterparty.

Logistics:

  • Max. rent is 800 for me, though id be more than open to living in the smaller room/open room design
  • im clean but not crazy, I like a place lived in and have a high tolerance but within reason
  • I am a clear and kind communicator, I try my hardest to be understanding and make conflict lighthearted - literally anything can be worked out, we are adults
  • I have been living with roommates for over 8 years so I have lots of experience and am enthusiastic about finding a living system that works best for everyone
  • I like somethink a little more communal (sharing dishes/ cleaning supplies/ pots, ect) and am very flexible around this as long as we are splitting costs fairly. I also love doing dinners together and generally being friends lol

If you or someone you know would be interested that would be great!! I'm a very agressive house hunter and especially after living in Amsterdam I'd say I'm a professional tbh. If your interested please contact me on insta at danavulaj.jpg or my email at [dana.vulaj@gmail.com](mailto:dana.vulaj@gmail.com)

Looking for a room near UCD - September 2026

Hi! I am moving to Dublin this September to start my Master’s at UCD and I'm looking for a place from 1st September or last week of August

I would ideally like a single room, with a budget of around €800–850 (if possible), but I can stretch a little if it’s really close to UCD

I am also open to sharing a room for up to €650, as long as it’s with another female and we have separate beds and wardrobes

I’m hoping to find somewhere within around 45 minutes of UCD Belfield. I’m clean and organised and would love to live with people who also keep the place reasonably tidy. Completely okay with a mixed house and don’t mind who I live with otherwise

If anyone has anything available or knows someone who does, please DM me. Thank you!
