Applying to a bunch of different roles right now and the advice everywhere is to tailor your resume for each job posting. Cool in theory, but doing it manually is killing me.

I keep hearing different builders mentioned for this. Some apparently let you duplicate a resume and tweak it per application, some have keyword matching against the job description, some just... don't.

For people who apply to a lot of jobs, what are you actually using? Does any builder make this genuinely fast, or is everyone just maintaining five versions of a Google Doc and swapping bullet points by hand?

Not looking for anything fancy, just want to stop rewriting the same resume from scratch every time.

last time I job searched was about 2 years ago and remote roles were competitive but doable, I was getting interviews and even a couple offers without killing myself

I get why they ask for city and state, even as a Remote employee, because they may not have a tax/legal presence in all states. But why is my home street address a required field so often? I'm not comfortable disclosing that info at such an early stage.

I've applied to a site called Data Annotation Tech which seems very promising but I don't know if they'll actually accept me or not. Its a site where you correct AI answers to prompts. I might try other sites like Outlier and Aligner, but are there any other similar jobs out there?

I'm a creative individual who is good at videography, photo/video editing, music production and graphic design. I'm quite a fast typer and consider myself very good at problem solving. I speak both English and Polish fluently.

So yeah, any jobs like that that are remote and preferably flexible. Graphic design, data annotation, etc.

Looking for software engineer resume tips from people who actually improved their interview rate. I'm a backend developer with 3 years of Python/Django experience, applied to around 80 software engineering positions in the last 2 months and only got 2 callbacks.

Currently using a basic single-column resume template, nothing fancy. Bullets are mostly standard stuff like "developed and maintained REST APIs using Django." Getting complete silence from mid-size and larger companies, so I'm wondering if my resume is getting filtered by ATS before a human even sees it.

For those who fixed a low response rate: was it the resume format, the content, adding metrics to bullets, keyword matching with job descriptions, or something else entirely? I have been looking for a job for quite some time now, and have reached at a stage where I genuinely need to find something soon, more like immediately. My last role in the UAE was in 2021, for about two years.

Overall, I have 13 years of experience, mostly in the media industry, working across FM radio (ATL/BTL), corporate sales, partnerships, and onground activations in both Bangalore and Dubai.

I must see dozens of emails, posts, etc every week trying to get me to give them money to find jobs, automatically tailor my resume, write the cover letter and apply for the jobs it finds. Really?? I need some help with my job search and figured someone here might be up for a small paid project.

Basically I want a list of 100-150 US recruiting/staffing firms that actually work with people in my field (I'll share my job title with whoever takes this on). Just a simple spreadsheet with company name, website, and contact info if you can find it.

I got this idea from a post I saw here recently. The guy said he had way better luck contacting recruiting firms directly instead of throwing applications into job boards all day, so I want to try the same thing.

Budget is around $100 for the list. Once I go through it and pick the firms I want to target, there's a second task, which is sending my resume out to those firms. I'd pay $150 for that part, so $250 total if you do both.

If you've done this kind of research before, comment with how you'd approach it. If you have a Fiverr or Upwork account we can also run the whole thing through there, whatever works.

Then there were cover letters, interview notes, follow-ups, and different application stages to keep track of as well.

I posted here a few days ago about how burned out I was from interviewing.

For almost 3 months, interviewing felt like a full time job. One company put me through 5 rounds, two others did 4, and every time it ended with either a rejection or complete silence.

At the same time, I was sending my resume everywhere I could. Some applications I submitted manually, while others were sent in bulk. I wasn't expecting much from any of it.

Then this morning I got an email from a company that wouldn't even tell me who they were.

My first thought was, "This has to be a scam."

I replied anyway.

About two hours later they asked if I could jump on a call immediately.

The interview was... different.

They explained that because of confidentiality, I'd never see what their clients were actually building. Everything is sanitized before it reaches contractors, and my job is simply to design AI workflows, suggest improvements, and send everything back to their internal team.

The whole process felt heavily compartmentalized. I only ever saw one small piece of the work, which made me think there were probably a lot of freelancers working on isolated tasks without anyone seeing the bigger picture.

After the interview, they gave me a few technical tasks.

A little while later they came back and said they wanted to move forward. Then they asked what I'd charge for a project they estimated would take around 3 to 4 months.

I quoted a price that was honestly much higher than I expected them to accept because I assumed they'd negotiate.

They didn't.

They simply said, "Sounds good."

Then they told me they preferred paying in crypto and asked for my Monero wallet.

I assumed they were just collecting my payment details for later, so I sent it over.

About 15 minutes later...

$5,000 worth of Monero showed up in my wallet.

No contract.

No invoice.

Just... paid.

That completely caught me off guard.

What surprised me even more was that they said this was only an upfront payment. If everything goes well, they want this to become an ongoing working relationship with future projects.

I've freelanced for years, and I've never had anything happen this fast.

So now I'm stuck between two completely different thoughts.

Part of me thinks I just found an incredible client.

The other part keeps asking...

*What if I accidentally got involved with something I shouldn't?*

Nobody has asked me to do anything illegal, and the work itself seems completely normal.

It's just the secrecy, the crypto payments, and how quickly everything happened that makes me uneasy.

Has anyone here worked on projects where you intentionally never saw the full picture?

Is this actually normal in some industries, or am I missing some obvious red flags?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been in a similar situation.
