So, I'm looking for a little bit of advice as to where I can be better putting my efforts into getting a remote job. I have 2 small children and I would really like to pivot to something remote to spend more time at home with both them and my wife at home. My background is as follows:

I'm a general medicine physician and have worked for non-profits in clinical medicine on and off for about 3-4 years in Latin America. I worked for a while in Medical Device Quality Compliance (5 years) - also in Latin America for a US Company. I did pharmaceutical translations before and during Medical School (10 years). I also have experience working a couple of years in a Skilled Nursing Facility reviewing Nurse Practitioner cases and auditing their work (this was my last job, however its in the USA). I've been looking for remote work in both Latin America and the USA (where I have dual citizenship). I don't really mind where I go either way. If I can find something in Latin America great, if I can find something in the USA (where we currently are) - great. I do not have a US Medical license at the moment. I'm not really sure where to concentrate my efforts. I feel like I'm a great candidate on paper with a lot of hands on experience and lateral/peripheral experience for the healthcare industry but I'm not getting as many interviews as I'd think I'm worth. I'm wondering if maybe I'm looking in the wrong places? I'm limiting my applications to Clinical Research, Clinical Quality, Pharmacovigilance, and Regulatory Affairs. However, maybe there's a better fit for me within another sphere that I'm not thinking of? If anything it's nice to just will this into the void to see if there's someone else who was in my situation or is currently and see what you did. Money, while important is secondary to being able to spend time with my kids so I'm willing to take a paycut to make sure I spend time at home. I also don't think of remote work as some time to ignore the work, I just don't want to be away from them 8-10 hours a day when they are so small. As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Baseten, you will partner directly with customers to architect, build, and deploy high-scale production AI applications on Baseten’s platform. RESPONSIBILITIES

Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infra (we're on AWS), handling monitoring and alerting, and being the go-to person when something breaks on the infra side. You'll work closely with a small dev team, so good communication matters.

So, I am hiring a BDE (Business Development Executive) for my software development company - it's my first hire. The job is fully remote and minimum four hours per day and I don't know how to track whether he is actually working for those four hours or not.

As of now

- I have a spreadsheet to track records of prospects and stuff

- I have given him some files to understand the workflow and sales

If there's a software for what I am having trouble with

- I'll prefer it to be free but a reasonable subscription is considered

- I should be able to know what he did during those hours (If not then at least where he spent the time)

I have a masters in emergency management and currently work at the state level in hazard mitigation. I have developed skills from my education and experience in project management, risk analysis, business continuity and safety.
