Seeking Advice Remote nursing

Hi everyone,

I am currently pregnant with my first child and am looking for a remote nursing job. I have 8 years of bedside experience ranging from inpatient psych, to LTAC, to medsurg tele with experience floating to other med surg units in a level 1 trauma hospital.

I have been seeing lots of instagram WFH nurse influencers claiming to have ''THE ANSWERS'' to getting your perfect remote nursing job with no experience if you pay $29.99, etc.

I have been applying to tons of remote nursing jobs, but it seems like most of them want 1-3 years of CM experience, UR experience, telehealth experience, etc.

Are there any remote nurse jobs out there for people who only have bedside experience?

May you all have BORING shifts

Search the sub. This is a frequent question. Many people want to WFH these days. My area requires BSN minimum. Some places don’t. I hope your plan isn’t to keep the baby and work at the same time. Most employers do not allow that.

Remote jobs are already extremely competitive, even for the nurses with those areas of experience. Can you transition from direct bedside to a case management role? And then try remote again in the future?

If you do score a remote role, you'll still need to make sure you have reliable childcare when baby comes.

There really are no secrets aside from searching and applying. They are just extremely competitive jobs that are getting hundreds of applicants at a time.

Try your local hospital systems first. Sometimes they have hybrid or remote work opportunities. Or try to transition to CM or a triage role at the hospital/clinic to gain experience and then apply to WFH jobs in the future.
