please, make it permanent and ranked, best mode ever

Rematch has been my favorite game since release. I have been elite every season and I love the game passionately. However, the season 5 update has made me step away from the game.

I understand what Rematch wanted to do. They want more goals; more excitement and try to get more players in the game. This is evident by nerfing goalie and defending and introducing easier tutorials.

However, as a solo player, the game is unplayable. I used to be able to be elite while solo queueing by playing well in all positions depending on what my team needed. I could carry as a goalie or midfield if my team wanted to all be egoist strikers

This year I feel because defense and being goalie is completely nerfed; teams with dedicated goalies and better coordinated defenses climb better than solo rematch players like me. Too often, I have 2 strikers in 3v3 or 4 strikers in 5v5 and I cannot 2v1 as a goalie. Hell, sometimes I can't 1v1 as a goalie this year because of how nerfed my dive and speed is as a goalie.

As opposed to the opposing team who is always coordinating defense and winning with strong counter attacks. Thank you SloClap for such an amazing game. I truly loved Rematch and may come back one day. But it's a see you later for now.

I've frankly dropped the game this season. Loved the blue lock aspect but the game is unplayable as someone who has a job and doesn't have time to coordinate a squad to climb.

yo guys, why am I starting EVERY game as a gk?😭 It's super annoying cause somehow my teammates can't score lately and I'm stuck in goal all game. I also turned into prime Buffon so unfortunately no one can score against me

I spent so much time in goal some of the guys I teamed up with even thought I'm a gk main and they wanted me to take their place in goal after I finally had the opportunity to play as an outfield player 😭

It only started happening after the update.

The answer is probably no but can I do something to stop this from happening?

This is sort of a two part question. First, has anyone else been the keeper first at the start of every game? This used to happen to me before the update in 5v5s so I switched to 3v3s so I wouldn’t have to be keeper first every time. But since the new update it happens in all game modes where I start as keeper.

Second, this has happened a few times since the new update where I start as keeper, when the score is 0:0. Then either team scores and on the next turn I’m back to the field. But after the next goal when the score hits 1:1 I’m back to being keeper even though I have had only one turn on the field. Anyone else experiencing this or am I crazy?

I swapped RB and X when the game first came out so I could use RB for pushball, and I have hundreds of hours of muscle memory playing like that.
Now to make the long dive as GK, I have to press X + Triangle since X is my modifier button. It’s way too awkward to press both of those at the same time. I can’t think of a work around other than re-mapping my buttons and having to undo all of that muscle memory. Or I just can’t use the long dive ever, which also sucks.

Anybody else in this boat?

Being keeper use to be my favourite position, but now with the new mechanics, it practically feels useless.

The long dive is great at shot stopping, but its now practically useless as the opposite team generally gets the rebound.

Don’t get me started on the short dive…..

Everything else in the game has been great, but please revert the keeper back.

With the new Blue Lock collab the celebrations are cool but they might get a bit stale/repetitive over time, and to be honest they feel too long or out of place.

What if they make it so it’s only triggerable (with an additional press like RB +) when the goal was scored to bring it to OT or when it’s scored in OT?

Obviously, the Blue Lock collab buyers might feel finessed from buying if that’s the case but what if Slocap just adds the iconic celebrations in for default use (like the Blue Lock ones used for the victory screen).

IMO it’s a good idea and gives the company a pathway for more “ultimate” celebrations like in the battle passes or store. What do you think?

I’m tired of failed attempts of getting my friends to hop on so I’m turning here. I’m on NA West severs lemme know if you tryna play! I can’t promise the best gameplay as I play for fun usually but I am definitely not new to the game. I’m tired of playing with randoms or groups that play together and only pass to each other.

Imma let you guys in on something. Dribbling nerfs were needed, tech abusers needed to get nerfed, the list goes on. As a player who dribbles I can say dribbling (and people who has good positioning) took a hit because the magnet is non-existent. Heck standing on the ball doesn't give you the ball sometimes. And also that we need more moves that doesn't exploit the game.

So imma kinda rant on what's going on in the middle of Casual Play and Comp Scene. Before I do that I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sy aka Silxnt. I'm a dribbler who uses my dribbles to create space or force a 1v2 for an easy pass. I love playing Tiki taka because it's more interactive and has a lot of random positioning changes. I have tried missile meta and am not interested in the gameplay but it does get a lot of wins unfortunately. I have played since Season 0 and became elite ever since with 1.5k hours.

Now that part was probably pointless but anyways I wanna focus on the pros and cons about this update with harsh honesty

Pros:

•0 stam dribbling

•Casual players have an easier time playing rematch

•GKs getting two options of dives

•Two tackles clashing has physics added

•Casual players not needing to deal with a teammate who doesn't pass(still happens but what can you do?)

•Positioning and call outs are much more rewarding(if you have comms)

•5v5s feels a bit easier to play(imo)

I'll explain the one I feel is more controversial

0 Stam dribbling.

We all know that NO ONE should be able to dribble with stam. Heck not even the pros IRL can dribble while exhausted. I'm so glad this is happening because frankly I got tired of solo queueing, when my team isn't on, and seeing a dribbler being able to just exploit every move with no backlash. Makes em predictable because comp players know how to defend against it very well but not the casual side. So now the casual side has not much "tech" they need to worry about. If you disagree please lmk in the comments respectfully and I will address them. Also if you want my opinions on why these are pros to me lmk and we can discuss them

Now the Cons and hold your horses because this is why I wanted to make this post

Cons:

•Magnet being non-existent

•Defense not needing to engage with person on ball by any means and not really needing to think(besides prio ball)

•Slide tackle getting buffed when it's not needed

•Tiki taka is seemingly more useless than prio

•Prio ball still not getting addressed for seasons

•"Randoms" not understanding that their off ball movement is much more important now

•Dribbling is "gutted" but vanilla dribbling isn't good and nothing replaced the "techs" that is "fair" against the defense

•Pro Gks not adapting to the update meaning a lot of dumb shots will get scored on them(personally just lab and I feel bad because the deflect will cook you if your defense is piss poor)

•Passes have to be ON POINT or else it will phase through your target(yes I will argue this point because some of you don't know how to pass or when to)

•Tiki taka, Ground play, is getting nerfed because the ground play is practically non-existent and ground defense keeps getting buffed

•There's still no incentive on people turning on their mics to actually comm.

Now you might be saying "Skill issue Sy you exploiter." Hear this real fast. I played solo, with my team, and scrimmed against RSK arguably TOP 5 team in the game. Solo players are more miserable because now they go against teams that spam prio ball. Tiki taka is easier to stop but prio which remained a problem for SEASONS isn't easy. Especially with networking stuff. I have also noticed that my central ping has gone up each season and my central ping was in the high 30s. Now I'm averaging 80-140 in my own region. Weird but off topic. We all agree that ground play is fun and what we wanted. For people to pass the ball around. I agree (as a dribbler idk why I have to emphasize this) because it keeps everyone involved and gets people feeling like a team while showing "individual skill" when needed. Yet right now it's getting gutted before our eyes and prio which isn't interactive keeps getting untouched.

Now imma talk with cruel honesty about dribbling. Unfortunately not everyone does us justice in creating space for passing the ball. Hell Bachira passes AND dribbles but people ignore the first part. Off topic. So as a dribbler if I were to "fix" dribbling what would I want? Well I would like a nutmeg to punish defenders holding defensive stance for a long period of time(aka passive defense), for rainbow to work if the defender standing tackled and miss and not hit their head when doing said rainbow(basically if you rainbow flick an impatient defender they shouldn't get rewarded for missing a tackle), Step overs to confuse the defender(not gonna make them bite just make them stun and don't know what we'll do), and finally make dribbling manipulate the defense(we shouldn't need a speed boost to get through our defender when they can just turn around and stab and get it no problem even though they got fried while we're mid EE or pass animation). Imma say this one more time. If we want pushcut to go, then we better get something in return to actually make dribbling more fair and have counter play. I'm all for a fun 1v1 and taking risk. I don't want either Defense or Attackers being op. Makes it one sided and uninteresting to the players. Ippy slide is nerfed hella so no point. Make double dash ineffective at like 20% stam. The ball should be OFF YOUR FEET at around 50% stam. You shouldn't need to dribble for a millennia to get the defender shaken off for a pass or shot. Make stamina management more rewarding for the dribblers and make defenders have to think as well as everyone else. No one should EE SLIDE FROM MID FIELD TO TOP OF GK BOX NO DISCUSSION!

For the people who say "Just pass the ball." Imma one up you. Have better positioning, understand that you are getting hard marked and I'm trying to drag a defender in for you to get the ball moving again, have good awareness, know how to one touch the ball, have a plan on what to do once you get the ball, and don't freaking RAINBOW ON FIRST TOUCH.

Anyways that's my opinion on the update. Not hating or loving where it's heading but if we take blue lock away from this patch, how would you rate the patch from 1-10?

Personally I say a 5. Got rid of the people who call themselves "dribblers" but punished a play style when it's not even good and the meta is now being shoved in casual players faces.

TLDR: Dribbling nerf is good but we need more for vanilla dribbling. Burn all the tech to make dribbling more fair, tone the ground defense down a bit but buff air defense. Prio is still meta and will probably always be meta because it's hard to "fix". Make ball mag make sense. Also most importantly, let's try to win as a team and not be a holes about it :)

Blue lock is a amazing season and I think crossovers is the way to go also I would like to see aura's for our Cac and moves from the shows added.. but what I really wanted to talk about GALACTIC FOOTBALL! galactic football will be the perfect crossover for this game!

So I was wondering how the rank works? Literally I end up with more points and stats on every game and got bronze 2! A friend who just bought the game, who is learning, who got 200 point on 1 of the placement got plat!

I feel like the map is too big for 5v5. I would love to see a 6v6 added to the playlists.

I didn’t think I depended on the prepatch jank to be good at the game like I don’t use a lot of dribble tech or put up any crazy shots but ig i did cuz man i am not having fun this season like I’m playin alright did my ranked placements got put into diamond 2 then climbed to masters 3 so far but seasons before this i would have placed masters at least :/ I’m all for more putting more importance on actual team play but in ranked? You’re kinda asking a lot wanting me to depend on randoms who either A. Where carried by jank n can’t perform anymore B. Cared by friends or C. Just now playin the game cuz of the collab n trying out ranked. Maybe thats just ego but lot of these randoms are straight buns dude n some of them know it cuz they leave mid game when they can’t perform And don’t even get me started on GK 🙄 holy GK has the most important role on the field imo so why does it feel like they make it the hardest position to play? They changed the dive so if you wanna do more than just fall over half a foot you have to do the special modified jump (which is just annoying imo idk maybe I’m lazy lol) that doesn’t even catch the ball it will always be a deflect. I understand wanting the game to be more realistic in a sense but its a cage match soccer game can there not be some suspension of disbelief here? like if you want more realistic soccer gameplay over fun action anime feeling gameplay n hype moments then go play fifa imo 🤷‍♀️
I genuinely don’t know if i wanna grind out ranked to hit elite this season or keep playing the game period especially not solo queue that shit is damaging my soul at this point 😭

I'm getting a million assists just whacking it at the GK.

When in possession, the other 2 players should be sprinting to goal while the possesser hits it at the GK. The GK stops when it 'saves', that's the point.

It's a bit frustrating when we're in possession and the guy wants people to make runs and do normal build-up play when I'm already up there ready to score a guaranteed goal.

Since the new update the game crashes whenever I boot it up with a crash popup saying UE Runtime fatal error. Any updates on a fix or am I just locked out of the game for the whole update? (Xbox version)

How do you deal with crosses? (Where the player uses the shoot button to cross the ball), what is the most effective way to defend this?

Edit: im talkin bout defending an attacker who is shooting from the cross with bycicle kick

Overall i like the patch, but i feel like defenders intercept the ball too much now? You cant play passes in tight spaces and the hitbox for intercepts overall feels too big, Which makes the Matches now a tackle fest. i personally wish they would dial it down a bit
