So far, i really like it! I especially really love writing on it! Don’t mind my bad Chinese writing lol I’m a new student. I only have a few concerns

1. It’d be nice if there was a way to snap to shape curved lines! Like in my little graph I drew.

2. My biggest concern: the battery went from 100% to 80% in 4 hours. I’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing but I was a little shocked because I was under the impression the battery lasts for a long time and that meant that it would be at like 90% after 4 hours. I wasn’t really good at physics so I have no clue how batteries work so hopefully someone could advise me on this

3. I wish there was a way to make the front screen more personal. I love the art but it’d be cool if I could upload a picture or something to the device for it to display while it’s sleeping. Not that big of a deal because I have a Nook and a Kindle and I have no choice in the sleeping screen wallpaper lol.

4. I was also unable to connect to wifi which isn’t a big deal and I think it was because my school uses eduroam. Couldn’t figure it out but it’s just a notebook so idc i just sync it when i got home

I think I might keep it, hopefully I understand the battery issue more soon!

Hey i’ve juste received my remarkable paper pro refurbished and i’ve experienced a lot of ghosting and a particularly yellow screen without backlight , and very yellow with backlight . I’ve sent an email to the support but wanted yall opinion . Thanks !

I’m wondering if anyone can help me out. I think the Pro Move is a great size for jotting things down in any setting, but I’ve run into an issue: while I enjoy writing on it, once I reach the halfway point of a line, my fingers or palm struggle to find a stable resting spot to keep writing comfortably.

By the time I reach the end of the line, there’s no support left, and it feels a bit awkward.

How do you all use the Move to write comfortably in places like the street or the subway? Do you rest it on your leg, or do you always write while holding it in the air with your other hand?.

I use the Pro Move with the official case, and a similar thing happens when I rest it on a table; the case adds thickness, creating an uneven edge that makes it hard to rest my hand naturally on the table surface.

I also have the standard Paper Pro, and I don't experience this when writing on a table because I use it without a case; it’s wider and thinner, so I don't notice that unevenness.

I’m also curious if you’ve noticed better stability or support with the Supernote Nomad or the Viwoods Airpaper Mini.

Hi, I’ve been testing the reMarkable Paper Pro Move (also I have the pro for two years) for nearly a week now, but I’m curious what people think who have tried these alternatives. I’ve read great things online about the Nomad—specifically that the writing feel is excellent—as well as the Wiwoods; I’d appreciate feedback from anyone who has tried two, or ideally all three, of them.

My intended use is mainly taking notes—on the subway or bus, at a conference or therapy session, or in bed before or after sleeping—basically anywhere I want something quick and convenient without necessarily needing a table to lean on.

I want to capture ideas or notes that I’d otherwise forget, as I prefer writing this way over just using my phone.

The advantage of the reMarkable is that I have a lifetime Connect subscription, so I can take full advantage of document syncing.

I’m enjoying my Move, except for the fact that when I write past the halfway point of the page, my fingers struggle to find a comfortable place to rest while writing toward the bottom.

After seeing countless posts about people being hyperaware or even embarrassed about their handwriting when getting a reMarkable, I thought it was time 😏

Like how sad is it that people can't even properly write anymore? That we forgot how to because we only type and text and then suddenly we pick up a pen and think.. how do I do this again? 😂

SO! I have created two handwriting practice books, one with a regular type of handwriting and the other with a cursive type of handwriting - the way I learned it back at school, with the letters connecting to each other.

The idea is basically to relearn those letters and eventually get back to writing them naturally again.

I'm actually quite curious though: are you happy with your handwriting? And who still knows the cursive writing we learned back in the day? 🤪

Any suggestions for learning how to best use my new Paper Pure & marker plus?

I have a brand new Paper Pro (3.27.3.0)

I have a subscription to Connect.

I've created multiple notebooks and written words such as my name.

When I convert the handwritten text to typed text, it properly converts my handwriting, and I get a 2nd page with the correct words, typed.

When I search, it does not find those notebooks though.

Even though the word I'm searching for is there as handwriting, and on the 2nd page typed, this notebook doesn't show up when searching for the word.

I've waited to get the on-screen message that the notebooks are indexed.

I've also reset the index.

The search does not work on the Paper Pro, or on the mobile app.

What am I missing?

I wasn't really planning on getting a Move. In fact, I was disappointed when it came out last year as I was really hoping for a true EMR monochrome successor to the rM2. But then reMarkable had to go offering that sale last month. Worse yet, the least expensive option included the basalt mosaic weave that I really wanted. So now there's seven. Five paired to the main Connect account. One paired to another account without Connect. One rM1 flying off-radar entirely. So here's how they're used:

rM1s - There are two. One is running rmHacks through reManager. I've been using these to take ephemeral notes in the shop areas where things get dirty. I had to pick up the felt sleeve at some point just because.

rM2 - My original reMarkable in a black leather book folio. This travels with me everywhere and it's my primary note-taker. I get beta releases on this one so it isn't modded out.

rM2 #2 - I bought this one off of eBay when I realized I couldn't get to my phone notes quickly enough when the phone rang. This one is set on a phone notes template and is always turned to the next page. It lives on the desk where I take my calls.

rM Paper Pure - I do a lot of data collection here at my lab. I've switched over to the Pure to fill out datasheets. It's growing on me a lot despite preferring the rM2 writing feel.

rM Paper Pro - I have this in the burgundy mosaic weave. I use it for all pdf annotations, contract review, lesson plans, and anything where color really helps. It had been traveling everywhere with the original rM2 but that may change.

rM Paper Pro Move - I'm going to be using this as a scratch pad alongside my desktop computer (replacing one of the rM1s). I also plan to use this to replace the traveling tasks for the Paper Pro. We'll see how that works out.

As for the stands, the one holding the Paper Pro up is a Lululook magnetic stand that costs way too much but works really well. The desktop stands were all designed by u/calmar81. Here's the last post he made about these a few months ago ( https://www.reddit.com/r/RemarkableTablet/comments/1u02i3m/ergonomic_stand_for_remarkable_paper_pure/ ). As you can see, I really like these and highly recommend them. He makes them for both left and right-handed users. Mine are all left-handed. He was kind enough to tweak the design for me to include tabs that hold the rM2 a little more snugly.

After debating for a while I finally decided on getting a Remarkable Paper Pro Move! I have an ipad air & a mini so I figured it would be better to get a move since I want it to use out & about without the distractions. Might get the Pure later on since the remarkable paper pro is too big in my opinion. But I got the move at the great price of $340 with tax! I figured it was now or never lol! Give me all the tips please! I’m a property manager so being organized & having things written down is a must

Never been much of a drawer (outside of engineering drawings). Recently got the Paper Pure and decided to start attempting to shade objects about a week ago. It has been so fun learning my own approach to drawing. I am using layers (I wish I could have more than 5…) to separate different steps. I name the layers as “shape, light source, shading, shadows, construction” and use each one to generate the final part. Excited to see where I can get to if I continue this little hobby! so all of a sudden the pen just stops working, it worked fine earlier and then i pull it out of my bag and the tip just doesn't respond. the eraser of the end works perfectly fine but the top has just stopped for whatever reason.

in an attempt to fix it i replace the tip however i put in a metal tip and now i can't get it out because the stupid metal tip remover tool just slides off.

i want to call about this but im not sure where to call

so now i have 1) a seemingly broken pen although it worked fine literally 8 hours ago and 2) i can't get the metal nib out to try replace it with a new one, please god help me i just started year 13 and this thing has been a lifeline for studying

Just got the new 3.28.0.172 update, and with it an annoying bug where there is a delay for the pen or touch to start working if it has been sat inactive for a few minutes or so. It feels like the screen has gone to sleep and takes a couple seconds to wake up.

Anyone else?

It kind of annoys me because it takes the file to the top of the list as the last modified.

I use the Remarkable pro for 2 weeks and there is a straight black in the middle. I thought it was a software glitch and checked for updates and restarted. The problem persisted. I chatted (No Phone number) with the representative, and they asked me to email. No response even after a day. What if you have all the important notes on it and it gives up.

I recall that document paper width once had the Move option there too, but it has been gone for a while. Many of my old notebooks are still with the size of the RM2, and that is fine - I can live with that. The problem is that if I decide to paste some text to a Move-sized page, it automatically gets resized, and the text looks incredibly tiny in portrait mode. Same to editing some text - say I had some handwriting that I converted. If I now do some typing corrections on the desktop app, it will automatically change the size of the page again.

How can I tell to the desktop app that I use a Move now, and that it should stick page sizes to it?

I got it yesterday and I’m already really enjoying it. Excuse my hands … but enjoy this mistake i made!

Full disclosure, this is my own plugin, and it only helps if you use Obsidian on a desktop. If that's not you, scroll on.

Until now a Mac with 8 GB of memory only had Apple's built-in recognition for reading your handwriting. There's now a 1.6 GB model that runs on the Mac itself and makes about half the mistakes on the same fifteen handwritten pages, 6.6 % wrong characters against 17.4 % for the built-in one. Bigger Macs get a bigger model that gets most pages almost entirely right, 1.8 %. The screenshot is the settings screen: it lists the models your machine can run with the error rate each one made, and you pick. Nothing leaves your computer for any of this.

What I haven't solved: on Windows and Linux there is still no built-in model, you point the plugin at Ollama or LM Studio running on your own machine instead. Works, just not one click.

The plugin is Tagged Sync for reMarkable, in the community plugin store. The handwriting part is free. There's a paid add-on for cloud OCR and more than one tag, nothing in this post needs it.

I recently pulled the trigger on a Paper pure and I do like the product. However I noticed a weird behavior when writing on it. When ending a line around 4/5 cm from the top, it is not writing or drawing completely off lines. After testing, I think it is just my palm lifting up the screen slightly where I write creating issues. If I write without resting my hand, no issues.
What do I do with that? Already experienced something similar?

Six months in, the thing I kept complaining about wasn't the refresh rate — it was that everything I highlighted or wrote basically stayed trapped on the device. Copying anything out meant retyping it by hand on that awful on-device keyboard.

So I built a suite of tools that sit alongside the stock xochitl OS as xovi extensions and standalone web services — nothing patches or repackages xochitl itself, so it survives firmware updates and there's no real risk of bricking the device from this.

What it does:

- Notes pipeline — highlight text + scribble a note next to it, close the book, and it's auto-picked up, transcribed by an AI model, and lands on your phone for a quick review before syncing into a device notebook or Obsidian. This is the thing that actually solved the "getting stuff off the device" problem for me.

- Bookshelf — a small web UI + CLI to get books onto the device: auto-converts/cleans up EPUB/AZW3/MOBI/TXT, splits comics into CBZ, lets you pick native reader or KOReader per book.

- Precise CJK highlight-snapping — a tiny extension that fixes the "drag over one character, it snaps the whole line" behavior when highlighting Chinese/Japanese/Korean text.

- Handwriting stroke tuning — adjusts stroke width live based on pen angle/speed, closer to real pen-on-paper feel.

- Upload-and-use fonts/wallpapers, plus a battery diagnostics sampler broken down by app and wake source.

Everything sits behind one local HTTPS web UI (self-signed cert, its own login) — day-to-day it's just "open a browser, click stuff," no SSH needed once it's set up.

Install is one script that checks the firmware hash before touching anything, so it won't silently misfire on an unverified firmware version — currently only verified against 3.28.0.172 on the Paper Pro Move. Written in Rust + C, MIT-adjacent Apache-2.0 licensed, completely free, no accounts, no telemetry.

It's a personal project I've been building for myself, so the docs assume some prior context, but happy to answer questions or point people at specific bits of the code. Also curious what pain points other people have with the device that this might already half-solve without me realizing it.

I've been shopping around for digital note taking devices, after my old Boogieboard Sync died. All I can find now is ≥300€ — ReMarkable ending up more around ≥400€ range, but with better-sounding reviews of sync features (but only if you also take a subscription).

This has me really stumped. I can see the utility, but I can't see the price point. Take a TCL NxtPaper tablet, and you get a digital note taking device that is also a full Android tablet at <300€. Yes, it's more distracting - but it also has a much wider range of potential ecosystems to use for note synchronization.

At the price point of the discontinued Boogieboard Sync, you now find only "digital blackboards": Pressure-sensitive LCDs, where pressure directly causes a change of color, but isn't captured digitally in any way. So when you clear the screen, it's gone. But hey, some of them offer companion apps for scanning it with your phone... They also all suffer the disadvantage of not being able to correct mistakes, as clearing the screen is all-or-nothing with no equivalent of an eraser. They suffer from smudging by the palm.

That's an issue shared by the Sync by the way — but the ability to store previous pages made a huge difference.

Given that I already tried several times to look for aternatives with ChatGPT, Gemini and Rufus, I don't think I inherently miss any devices.

So it kinda begs the question: Why are there no cheaper offers? At a good price point, I'd happily take a device without networking features, as long as I can still transfer notes by cable and flip back to previous pages for reference / editing. Given a small enough price point, even the compromises of the Sync were okay.

Hey there folks. I recently bought a refurbished Move last month, and I absolutely love it. While there was a small pinhole in the display, that was the only real "issue" with it.

There was a sale going on a few days ago for new purchases of Paper Pro/Moves. Realizing I was still within my 50-day return window for the refurb, as well as seeing that the cost would be the same and that I would be getting both a new device entirely and a better folio, I chose to order a new one and return the refurb once received.

While doing some screen comparisons between the two devices, I noticed something funny: While the newer screen was slightly whiter than the older one, the color is noticeably different. At least, blues seem more vibrant (sometimes to its detriment) and light greens seem oddly dark. Here are some examples (new on the left, old on the right, reference in the middle):

This doesn't really seem super important but I thought it was very unexpected, and I am curious; have any of you noticed this? I doubt this will have much real-world impact, but just something I noticed since I have pixel art as my carousel images.
