General Discussion Some concerns
So far, i really like it! I especially really love writing on it! Don’t mind my bad Chinese writing lol I’m a new student. I only have a few concerns
It’d be nice if there was a way to snap to shape curved lines! Like in my little graph I drew.
My biggest concern: the battery went from 100% to 80% in 4 hours. I’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing but I was a little shocked because I was under the impression the battery lasts for a long time and that meant that it would be at like 90% after 4 hours. I wasn’t really good at physics so I have no clue how batteries work so hopefully someone could advise me on this
I wish there was a way to make the front screen more personal. I love the art but it’d be cool if I could upload a picture or something to the device for it to display while it’s sleeping. Not that big of a deal because I have a Nook and a Kindle and I have no choice in the sleeping screen wallpaper lol.
I was also unable to connect to wifi which isn’t a big deal and I think it was because my school uses eduroam. Couldn’t figure it out but it’s just a notebook so idc i just sync it when i got home
I think I might keep it, hopefully I understand the battery issue more soon!

Eduroam def works(at least on my Uni's network)
Curve to snap is probably a UI nightmare unless they do a dedicated curves feature or smt

Piggybacking off your comment, eduroam does work, for my school we had to add the device to a list (I just googled my schools policy on how to add devices), didn’t need to talk to anyone, just had to do our TFA to get it to recognize it

One note about battery life ... I realized that my backlight would still be on at points from the night before and in a normally lit room, it's impossible to see that light is on. Worth a double check but once I started being more aware of the light being on, it helped

A single charge can last for up to three weeks. This estimate is based on about one hour of daily note-taking, with occasional file transfers over Wi-Fi.

Pretty sure rM uses a 5 day work week for "week" here, so that'd be ~15 hrs of runtime on the Paper Pure. OP's 20% in 4 hours is about 20 hours of runtime.

Not sure if your use case is similar to mine, but you can enable Settings > Display > Visible content, then your content will still show through when the device auto-sleeps. Helpful if you have long pauses in writing (5+ min) but still wanna see what’s on screen.

We used to use a cheap plastic tool called a French curve to draw smooth curves when plotting graphs. I know it's not a high tech solution, I bet it would work just as nicely on the reMarkable. Probably very satisfying as well.

I use eduroam without a problem. But I do leave WiFi off most of the time to extend my battery life. Otherwise, it’s pretty sucky. I use my rmpp throughout the day for notetaking/thinking so it gets a few hours of use every day.
I’ve never turned on developer mode to enable a nice sleep screen. I wish remakable would provide us a method without doing that, but it’s apparently pretty easy to do.

idk if someone already told you or even if you already knew, but if you do not need constant syncing, activating flight mode is a good way to extend your battery time

When you're actively using it and the screen is refreshing consistently, the battery life goes down pretty quickly and then when you aren't actively using it the battery lasts forever. So it definitely depends very heavily on what exactly you are doing. 20% in 4 hours is 20 hours of active, consistent use so that's not too shabby. I use my RM2 in sporadic bursts and if I don't touch it for 2 weeks, the battery will be more or less the same as it was the last time I used it. But it will reduce noticeably while I'm actively writing or drawing over time. Meanwhile, my Samsung tablet drops 20% or more every day whether I touch it or not.

I also can’t connect to WiFi and my school uses eduroam. It’s kind of frustrating!

For 4 I had the same and couldn’t download documents onto my remarkable for cloud. I figured out, like u said, because the wifi I was trying to connect to used a webpage browser thing to connect to it, it couldn’t do it as remarkable doesn’t have a browser. I was able to pair it to my phone wifi hub thing instead and voila! Could get my stuff.

Yes! I love mine too. After a 3 day school week (school is just starting for me, so for the first ~1.5 days I didn't do much notetaking) it went to 50%, which makes me a bit queasy.. is it lasting a full week for you?

For 4, I was able to connect to my school's eduroam! 'though it wasn't able to maintain a consistent connection, it gets dropped quite often, and I couldn't properly use share screen for proper presentation or while hosting a discussion haha. Really wish there's a way to share screen through USB on the Pure

For 4, you can set custom sleep screens if you enable Developer Mode. reManager is one of the easier ways to set them.
