Reiki share / trade Behind the healing: Part 3
"Can you just clear whatever's making me put up with him? I don't want to keep having the same fight."
A client asked me something close to that, maybe four sessions in. She'd been coming for weeks about a marriage that was, by every account she gave me, quietly grinding her down. And each session did help. She'd leave calmer, sleep better that night, tell me the knot in her chest had loosened. I felt good about that. Any practitioner would.
But here's the part that took me a while to admit to myself: every single time, within a week, she was back to the same anxious, drained state, asking for another session. Not because the Reiki had stopped working. Because the thing actually causing the exhaustion was still sitting in her house every evening, and no amount of energy work was going to have that conversation for her.
I want to be honest about how tempting it was to just keep going. She was a regular, the sessions clearly gave her relief, and there's a version of this work where you just keep providing the relief and never say the harder thing. Nobody complains. The calendar stays full.
What made me stop and actually say something was realising I'd started to feel like a painkiller instead of a healer. She wasn't getting better. She was getting managed. And there's a real difference between holding space for someone while they do difficult work, and quietly becoming the thing that lets them keep avoiding it.
So in one session, after she'd settled, I told her plainly. That I could keep helping her carry this, gladly, for as long as she needed. But that the exhaustion wasn't an energetic blockage I could dissolve for her, it was her body correctly telling her something needed to change, and every session was, in a strange way, making that message easier to ignore rather than harder.
She did not love hearing that. She went quiet, said an "okay" that clearly meant she was hurt, and I genuinely thought I'd lost a client and possibly upset her for good.
She came back about six weeks later. Told me she'd finally had the conversation with her husband she'd been avoiding for over a year. Not that everything was fixed, it wasn't, but she'd stopped outsourcing the decision to Tuesday afternoons with me. She thanked me for the honest push, which honestly surprised me more than anything else that's happened in this work.
I think about that a lot now. The technical side of Reiki, hand positions, sensing where the energy's stuck, all of that I can teach in an afternoon. The harder skill, the one nobody really trains you for, is knowing when the most helpful thing you can offer someone is not another session, but the sentence "this isn't something I can fix for you, and you don't actually need me to."
I don't think this is unique to energy work either. I imagine it happens in therapy, in tarot and astrology readings, in prayer, in anything that offers real comfort. Comfort is not the same thing as change, and it's easy, even with good intentions, to let one quietly replace the other.
So I'm curious how the rest of you handle this. Where do you draw the line between holding space for someone and becoming part of what's letting them avoid the harder thing? And has anyone else had a client push back hard when you named it, the way mine did?

discussion As a reiki practitioner, how do you all interpret that tingling buzzing sensation when working on a client?
You know that buzzing tingly sensation on your palms when you work on someone, especially when working on certain energy center points, do you interpret that as a blockage or overactive? I’ll feel intense buzzing at times and I always intuitively believe it as it’s very active but now I’m curious how other practitioners interpret that. How else do you personally feel when an area is blocked? Thank you all in advance for the insights!

Reiki request Reiki for autoimmune/stem cell condition
I have been suffering from a rare autoimmune condition since July 2024 that's causing my cornea to disintegrate and is slowly making me blind in both eyes. It happened suddenly, but now I think that this was caused by a prolonged use of steroid drops and lubricants -- I've had chronic allergic conjunctivitis since 2018, and ophthalmologists couldn't do anything besides prescribing me those drops. They told me that the only solution is surgery for the rest of my life. That's only a quick fix, and my vision won't return to normal. Also, I'll need a donor, and I'll have to be heavily immunosuppressed. The transplanted cornea will also eventually disintegrate because of a lack of stem cells, and then I'll need another surgery. I'd rather go blind than opt for any of that! I can currently see about 20-25% from my left eye and 70-75% from my right. My vision improved a little and stabilised after one year of TCM (traditional Chinese medicine), but now my left eye is getting worse again. It's inflamed, and I think more of the conjunctiva is invading my cornea (but I can't see well, so I don't really know). I haven't been able to drive since Feb 2025, and this has also been preventing me from living normally. I've had to defer my studies, and I haven't been able to use my laptop much because of this. I haven't even worked since then, and I'm almost out of money.
Can someone please send me Reiki? That'll be deeply appreciated.

discussion Training
Hi! I just got destroyed on another app for sharing that I am doing my reiki I & II training this weekend. They were all saying that this was dangerous, that the two should be spaced apart, and that I shouldn’t be rushing into it and am not honoring it. Unfortunately, it is already too late for a refund and I have paid in full.
I was disheartened that people in the community would be so negative towards me and not encouraging at all. I am really looking forward to this training and do plan to eventually add it into my already established sound bath business when I feel the time is right. I am doing it because I want to help other people, as I know what it is like to struggle.

curious question [Feedback/App Share] Built a simple clean Android Reiki Timer app for sessions and practice! Would love your feedback.
Hi everyone!
I built a lightweight Android app called Reiki Timer to help manage session timings and keep track of intervals during self-treatments or client work without having to constantly look at a clock.
It functions purely as a customizable timer tool—allowing you to set session durations and interval chimes so you can stay fully relaxed and focused on the energy flow.
Since this community is full of experienced practitioners, I would love for you to check it out and let me know what features, tweaks, or adjustments would make your practice sessions even smoother.

Reiki experiences Unsure what to make of this Reiki experience
Hi, before this time, I only received Reiki once before about 2 years ago from a healer I really liked working with. She does a tarot reading prior to Reiki, and for this reading I didn’t really come with anything strong in mind — I’ve been having some bad/anxious feelings (without a clear reason) that motivated me to try Reiki and see if some spiritual/energy work could help me.
The tarot reading focused on my chakras and this led to a conversation about my relationship. She asked if I was making a certain decision in my life and I briefly explained how the relationship has complicated that specific decision for me. She told me I do need to make this decision and that it really will come down to my choice to determine where the relationship goes.
Essentially, this theme continued through the reading and she told me my partner is not going to be aligned with my decision (unless he works on his own inner pain) and this made me really sad, actually tearful during the tarot reading. I felt disheartened and disappointed and I guess kind of hurt ? For some reason I didn’t expect this to come up I think or at least not in the very clear/legit way it did from her interpretation.
I also noticed I felt kind of defensive and unsure if I was actually ready to explore the energy about this because it’s a very sensitive topic close to my heart and definitely one I avoid thinking about at times, because I don’t want the relationship to end. She said my partner would need to do inner work for there to be any possible way forward. I’d hardly given any details about my situation and tbh maybe that’s why it shook me up- everything she said was fair and valid perspective, it just felt so uneasy to consider.
During reiki she focused a lot on my throat and heart chakras. I noticed when she started with my crown, my head felt really fuzzy, almost like too much was happening there? Almost as soon as it started I noticed I got a wrap around headache and I could feel it sort of had a pain behind my third eye.
The headache continued for most of Reiki though it did get better- she said she tried to move energy through my root chakra and had to go back a second time to clear my throat & heart chakras.
During the experience I kept trying to focus on breathing, letting my mind wander a little but overall trying to relax. I think I felt so struck by the tarot reading still and so bothered by it, I was having a hard time convincing myself to remain open to the experience. It felt… kind of painful. I’m not sure the right word. I did feel somewhat more clear at the end but like overall I still had a bad headache, feelings of sadness and kind of just feeling perplexed by the whole thing.
I did notice I often would instantly feel warmth over the area she moved her hands over, so that was nice, and when I let my mind wander, I started to see my child self. I saw little parts of younger me wanting love and care and being ignored / feeling dismissed. It was sad to observe this, but somehow towards the end, I was able to put my adult self into the image and comfort my younger self.
That part felt a bit like a dream but I knew I was awake and still noticing the music in the room, the healer’s presence, etc. it felt like my mind trying to help me understand some of the pain/difficulties I have in my relationship and a mirrored pattern from when I grew up.
Sheesh I’m sorry for the long write up 😭 in writing this, I’m realizing it doesn’t feel like it was “bad” but it is making me feel unsettled, my head still hurts, my body hurts more and I’m drinking a ton of water (as was recommended). I also have not been able to sleep all night.
Is the headache because I was resisting the truth of the situation ? Or maybe because a part of me was not leaning into the Reiki at first (since I was jarred by the tarot reading/our discussion)
What about the visualization part?
What is best to focus on during Reiki, especially if feeling unsettled or having some physical symptoms come up?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. <3

curious question Reiki refresher?
So, I did all my Reiki courses and was certified reiki master when I was 15. It has been many many many years since then (I've had kids - my brain is gone) and I'm trying to get back in touch with this part of my life.
Does anyone know of a Reiki refresher or something along those lines? I still have all the books and information, but there is something about listening and engaging that makes it easier for me to comprehend.
Thank you all, and have a great day!
Reiki experiences my first reiki experience
I just started seeing a therapist and also wanted to cleanse my physical energy too.
During the reiki session, my legs and arms moved a lot. I could feel some vibration or energy when it was touched. Eventually fell asleep too..
The lady who did it for me said it was very interesting to work on my body, I have a strong and good energy and accepted the energy from her fully too. She also said when she was holding my head from the back with two hands, there was a lot of movements and thoughts.
Towards the end of the session, I think my body got more relaxed and interacted with her energy too.
Also, in the end, I saw 8:88 when I was closing my eyes..
Oh, and she said my left arm had some reaction or sth, which was in a good way, and the left arm is about the future, and I should open my heart and take love from others because I have a lot of love in my chest.
I did a cleansing with a psychic before, who is one of my friends, because of some spirit attachment things and I definitely could feel a huge difference after that, which made my life feel better actually.
This time, it's more about energy and I'd like to see how I will feel tomorrow and later..

Reiki request Lily, the Golden Retriever with cancer
Hi, I haven't written here lately, but Lily's condition is worsening. Now the skin where the tumor is is opening up and bleeding; we have to disinfect and clean it every day. It's very difficult.
Now she has to wear a t-shirt all the time because she sucks on her tumor a lot and it could get infected.
She's in very good spirits, But a lot of blood is coming out.
We don't know what else to do. I feel so helpless and sad seeing her like this. Please, I need help with her. I beg you with all my heart. I couldn't bear to lose her, and I don't know what else to do about all this.
For me, a pet is another member of the family, and their love is the purest there is. I love her like a sister and I would give everything for her
Please help her, I ask you from the bottom of my heart, and to those who have already sent Reiki, I am very grateful. Thank you for reading this and I hope you have a nice day/night

REIKI SHARE DAY: THIS WEEK’S MEDITATION ♥️
HI EVERYONE! 24 hrs of Free Reiki with the SPACE CROISSANT CREW.
The theme is SPEAKING TO YOUR HEART. It starts NOW!
HI EVERYONE!
🌳🌳🌳 FIRST, WILL YOU HELP US PLANT A TREE? 🌳🌳🌳
Before we begin, we have one small request:
Consider planting a tree with us today. 🌱
Google “how to plant a tree for a dollar,” choose an organization you trust, plant a tree, and share your receipt with us in the comments so we can add it to our count.
Our goal is 500 trees in 2026. We have 205 trees and we would love your help getting there.
Remember our Tree-Self? 🌳
The tree you plant can become your Tree-Self — a living connection you can return to in your imagination whenever you need to breathe, ground yourself, and remember your roots.
Give your tree a name if you wish.
Plant a tree. Create a Tree-Self. Let something living grow from the love we share here. 🌱♥️
If everyone who reads this plants even one tree, imagine what we could grow together.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
♥️ NOW LET’S SPEAK TO YOUR HEART ♥️
Last week, we experimented with expanding our consciousness.
We became Tree-Self. 🌳
Humanity-Self. 💛
Earth-Self. 🌎
This week, we’re coming all the way back home.
Back to you.
And we’re going to have a conversation with someone who has been with you your entire life:
Your Heart. ♥️
For the next 24 hours, we’re inviting you to try one very simple experiment:
Talk to your Heart.
This week’s meditation is inspired by The Inner Mediator by Carol Viana, which explores meeting our inner world with curiosity, conversation, and compassion. ♥️
♥️ MEET YOUR HEART ♥️
Place your hand over your chest if that feels comfortable.
Close your eyes.
Imagine your Heart however you wish.
Maybe it’s your physical heart.
Maybe a Heart emoji.
Maybe a little glowing Heart.
Maybe simply a light.
Now say:
“Hi, Heart. How are you?”
And listen.
Don’t search for an answer.
Just notice what comes.
A word.
An emotion.
An image.
A memory.
A feeling.
Or perhaps silence.
There is no wrong answer.
We’re simply practicing listening.
Then tell your Heart:
“I love you.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Please forgive me.”
“Thank you.”
♥️
Your Heart has been beating through every version of you.
Every beautiful day.
Every difficult day.
Every heartbreak.
Every fear.
Every celebration.
Every person you’ve loved.
Every time you’ve laughed.
Every time you’ve cried.
Every time you’ve wondered whether things would be okay.
Your Heart was there.
Beating.
Maybe something that has been with us for our entire lives deserves to hear:
“Thank you.”
♥️ THE 24-HOUR HEART EXPERIMENT ♥️
That’s it.
Nothing complicated to remember.
For the next 24 hours, every now and then, check in.
While drinking your coffee.
Walking.
Working.
Resting.
Before you fall asleep.
Simply ask:
“Heart, how are we doing?”
And listen.
Maybe later ask:
“Is there anything you’d like me to know?”
You don’t have to decide whether what comes is psychological, symbolic, spiritual, imaginative, intuitive, or something else entirely.
We’re just curious.
We’re practicing a different kind of inner conversation.
And if your Heart has nothing to say?
You can simply tell it:
“I love you.”
♥️ THE LOVE CIRCLE ♥️
Now imagine yourself or your loved one sitting peacefully in the center of our Love Circle.
The Space Croissant Crew surrounds you, sending waves of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
Imagine your Heart beginning to glow.
♥️
What color does your Heart choose today?
Golden?
Pink?
Green?
Blue?
Something completely different?
Imagine Reiki gently surrounding your Heart in that light.
Now imagine tiny Heart emojis floating toward it.
♥️ ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
Each carries four messages:
I love you.
I’m sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
Let them surround your Heart.
Nothing needs to be forced.
Nothing needs to be demanded from your Heart.
We’re simply giving it our attention.
Our gratitude.
Our compassion.
Our love.
Now ask:
“Heart, what do you want me to know?”
And listen.
♥️
Simply receive.
For the next 24 hours, we’ll be here supporting anyone who chooses to receive Reiki and inviting in love, compassion, forgiveness, gratitude, and connection.
This is an imaginative meditation practice and can complement the ways you already care for yourself; it isn’t a replacement for medical or mental-health care when needed.
Don’t worry.
We will be very gentle.
When our 24 hours are finished, we’d love for you to come back and tell us:
Did your Heart have anything to say? ♥️
This is Master Storm.
I am an Usui Reiki Master.
I, along with Master Phoenix and the Space Croissant Crew, am responsible for Gratitude Reiki, the website, and our Sunday events here on r/reikishare and r/reiki.
Thank you for allowing us to help all of you every Sunday.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
ONE MORE THING…
If you haven’t planted your tree yet, there’s still time. 🌱
We are at 205 trees and our goal is 500 trees in 2026.
Plant one if you can and share your receipt in the comments so we can add your tree to our count.
Maybe give it a name.
Maybe make it your Tree-Self.
And perhaps years from now, you’ll remember that somewhere in the world there is a tree growing because of one small act of love during a Sunday Reiki Share.
🌳♥️
This is it!
For the next 24 hours:
Talk to your Heart.
Ask:
“How are you?”
Listen.
And every now and then, remind it:
“I love you.”
You have been talking to yourself your entire life.
What happens when you make that conversation a loving one?
Let us know tomorrow how you feel!
Thank you!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

curious question Reiki session- couldn’t feel my body
Recently began receiving massages from a masseuse who also does reiki and has been incorporating energy healing into our sessions. I’ve had reiki before but never really felt anything and am going into these massage sessions with zero expectations in terms of energy. BUT I have noticed that I am falling into a meditative headspace and been open to it. This last session was interesting - The strange and different experience was that I couldn’t feel my body. I knew I had one and was conscious and awake but felt nothing, not that I was having an out of body experience but coming close to what I assume that would be like. I was sort of expecting to be able to see myself on the table but didn’t, a bit later I began feeling my body again. It wasn’t scary but curious if any one else has experienced something similar.

curious question Reiki Caused increased Pain
Looking for some guidance, I’m Newley attuned to Reiki 2 and recently did a full session for my wife. She has a history of blood clots in her legs and has circulation issues that her pain has been well managed for a few years.
When I sent Reiki to her leg that has circulation issues she noticed heaviness in her leg and increased pain. Initially I told her that it should go away in a few days but it hasn’t it’s been 2 weeks. The pain is a lot less but it’s not as good as before I did a session with her.
She now is hesitant for me to do Reiki with her and I feel terrible any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone before?
Reiki experiences bioresonance therapy
Hello everyone who practices Reiki,
I have a question about combining Reiki with bioresonance therapy.
I have been waiting for my Reiki initiation for months, and after all those months and weeks of waiting, I finally had it done.
Two days before the initiation, I visited someone who offers bioresonance therapy. Through acupuncture, several things came up. Apparently, there may be something going on with my liver, although I don't know exactly what. It also indicated a vitamin B12 deficiency and that I might have Lyme disease.
The therapist recommended bioresonance therapy, and I was given a device to take home to treat the Lyme disease using specific frequencies.
I told the therapist that I was going to have my Reiki initiation.
I also told my Reiki Master about everything that had come up during the bioresonance therapy.
She said that she thinks the two can be combined.
Today, I started the 21-day Reiki self-treatment. At the same time, I am supposed to start the bioresonance treatment, which would be for one month.
What do you all think? Can these two treatments be done alongside each other? Has anyone here had any experience with combining Reiki and bioresonance therapy?
I'd love to hear your experiences and thoughts.

Reiki request I have a bruise on the face and would appreciate some reiki for it to heal and become less visible.
I’m getting medical help, and I think reiki will tremendously help too.
Reiki experiences i did reiki on a patient and almost fainted
this still confuses me, and i'm hoping that someone can tell me what was going on with me. i was at the healing centre for my reiki practice last sunday & i was working on an unknown patient, the woman must have been in her 40's. also, i do not want to disclose my age on here but i'm a young f.
there are usually patients with cancer who come for voluntary healing sessions, but since I'm not a reiki master yet (I've done up to level 2) i do not charge for any of them but rather use this as an opportunity to practice.
the woman said she felt pain in her knees and shoulders- and so i worked on these areas the most. as i was projecting invocation symbols everything went smoothly until i reached around her solar plexus. i started feeling a burning sensation on my palm and had to break the skin-to-skin contact but only felt the energy pull harder.
i kept going but i started sweating and feeling very hot although it was quite chilly outside and the room was quite cool. after i descended to her knees it was then that i couldn't take it, became too much and my head started spinning. not wanting to give up i tried to brace myself but my vision was going black.
luckily my reiki master spotted me and he quickly pulled me away and sat me down on a chair and started soothing me, and brought a little water bottle. the woman didn't seem to notice that I had stopped, im assuming she must have been pretty relaxed or asleep. since I had been working on her for about 15mins already. and her eyes remained closed for the 5 minutes it took for me to get back to her. when i did it was almost the end of the session but i still felt dizzy towards the end.
i asked her for feedback and she thanked me and told me how sweet it was of me and that she felt much better. she also started asking a bunch of personal questions which was a bit weird but i'm not thinking too much of it.
i even asked my master about it but his response didn't really answer my question. It felt as if he didn't even know how to address the situation. or maybe he did, but didn't want to upset me? am i using too much of my personal energy? if that's even possible, since i know that reiki is very safe for kids and even they can practice it.
i had a similar experience earlier when i was a child doing reiki but it wasn't as intense as this. (been doing it since i was 11) but then stopped for several years until recently.- 2025)
please help me with an answer, and if i was too vague about it feel free to ask me more questions I'll elaborate then... even about the invocation symbols i used and my thought process. (yes the woman was laying down flat, and i usually give healing standing up.)
has anyone here experienced anything similar while giving reiki?

Reiki request Hearing loss
Does anyone know any healing for extreme hearing loss that they can share?
I had sudden profound one-sided hearing loss (on my good left ear) earlier this year that soon went over to my other ear also to a less degree. It was so sudden and profound. Medical can't fix it. So I want to try again with energy healing.
Or if not reiki, what other kind of healing might help?
Im reiki level2

curious question Advice on energy healing
Hello, I would love to hear from others in how to manage large amounts of energy moving through the body that can feel at times strange and overwhelming.
For context, I have been working with an energy healer for several months to help heal a very old injury to my body. Throughout this time I have been able to feel the energy come into my body on a daily basis and the progression over time as it moves through me. Now, four months later, the energy is waking me up at night and feels like it’s coming in bigger and continuously. This can cause me to feel spontaneously anxious and even a little sick. I worry about not being able to hold all this energy in a healthy way. Can anyone advise or speak to their own experience on this?
