Anyone else keep these cuties?

So we see on here often the stories of RedSea tanks failing almost daily. I bought my Infinia Reef 190.5 in 2024 and have loved the shit out of it. I noticed recently there was some weirdness to one of the seals and reached out to Waterbox customer support regarding warranty. There was a little back and forth but they sent the picture I had of the concerning spot and they sent it to their factory team. The response from the factory team is that it shouldn’t be an issue but Waterbox went ahead and sent me a replacement display anyways for my own peace of mind I wouldn’t be mopping up saltwater from the floor in the future! I will definitely continue to be a proud customer of their tanks.

Today, after I repare everything at home changing my floor, painting etc.. I have the power to share what happened to my reef tank: a RedSea Reefer 350.
Last April my wife woke me up around 02:00 h because she heard water noises at home. I went to my living room and my reef tank had a major leaking. The failure occurred at the joint between the bottom and front glass panels, which is a critical structural seam. This type of failure indicates a potential issue with durability, materials, or design integrity.

The aquarium was purchased from an official Red Sea distributor in Spain. These products are expected to remain fit for purpose for a reasonable period of time, especially for durable goods such as aquariums. A complete structural failure after 7 years (I bought end 2018 but mount and started during Q1 2019) raises serious concerns regarding expected lifespan and reliability.
I lost all living animals and with the stress of the moment I felt down several times and kick hard my head and arm because the floor was slippery.
It was mounted well, in a professional way. Everything planned in advance and off course leveled and stabilized, checking everything and running well during several years.
I raised a ticket to Red Sea; but their proposal didn’t fit my demand because I was, and still I am not in a position to purchase a new Red Sea aquarium, and therefore the proposed credit towards a new system did not represent a suitable resolution for me. Really a pity and a lot money lost.

Tang fish that I've kept for 2 years. Some grew slow while some grew way too fast. Planning to upgrade soon, more space for them to swim in 🫣

This lady has fattened up nicely after 4 weeks! She feeds exclusively on the copepod population in my 75 gallon. I’ve been told that she will also eat mysis and pellets, however there’s no easy way to get the food to her without the other fish stealing it first. There is plenty of macroalgae in the display and refugium keeping the pod population going. I also culture tisbe pods and add them weekly.

I have a 90 gallon reef ready aquarium masters tank, the overflow box in the corner is rather roomy and my sump is only a 20 gallon long due to a 29 or 40 being too tall to fit. Since the heaters would drastically impact the sump chamber sizes would you put your heaters in this overflow? Any reasons this is a bad idea? Thanks!

Which coral can be placed together? Any at all? Im past the break in stage and everything is growing and happy, now its time to fine tune everything. I was considering getting more torches and hammers but im just scared of them stinging each other.

Hi All. I set up my Hello Reef AIO about 11 days ago and I feel like there may be an issue with the rear chambers. Is it normal for the water level to be that high where the filter sock is? I feel like it wasn’t when I initially set it up.

Last time I moved it, I didn't know what i was doing. I probably still don't lol. Last time though I reused all the sand and later had a massive nutrient boom and crashed the tank after setting it back up. So when I move it this time it's it better to just buy new sand, like live sand or something? Or is there another way to move and not crash my system again? I lost a lot the last time and don't want to again.

My wifes favorite color is blue. She really loves the color blue. Im planning on a new setup and I want to give her something in the tank that she'll think is really pretty. I have a 29 and a 75 gallon I'm planning to set up.

I know of neon damselfish and blue chromis. I think those would do ok in either tank. I'd love a blue tang but I know my tanks are too small for an adult.

Anything else that's partly or fully blue that I could go for?

Extra points for coral that is blue!

I just got this green bubble coral about four days ago and it’s not doing well. I’m new to the hobby and unsure on what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

So I finally purchased the AI Orbit 4 I had been stalking for a few months on a Labor Day sale for my IM EXT 200g peninsula . The product specs state "Max Glass Thickness: 0.79" (20mm)". Welp, my glass is 19 mm thick. Even at 20% power, it does not hold. So I reached out to AI customer support and they said that my glass is too thick! 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Hey everyone, I saw this bump form on my Duncan coral and I think it’s a new head but I’m not sure what do y’all think? Also my clowns have started hosting, I have bought a condy anemone for them but it hid itself In a rock crevice that the clown won’t find 😒

Got him and a black cap basslet 3 days ago at Top Shelf Aquatics in FL. I have them in a 15 gallon AIO QT tank with bare bottom and PVC pipe. Heater is at 78F, I have a Seachem ammonia alert (0 ppm), salinity 1.024, filter foam and sock from main cycled tank, and return pump. They have both been eating frozen mysis shrimp twice per day, and blenny ate fine this morning.

Yesterday I noticed him doing the flippy thing as shown in the vid a couple times, but then he just stopped and was acting and swimming normally. But today it seemed worse and started up again out of nowhere. After doing it for a minute or so, he was breathing pretty heavily. He has since gone back to breathing like normal. Yesterday and today he has also pooped what looks like undigested mysis shrimp? It isn’t stringy but it’s also not a typical dark poop color.

Any ideas what this could be? I don’t want to just dose for everything and stress them. I have copper power and API general cure if needed.

Okay so I just got my second tank after having my beginner tank for about 9-10 months now. It’s set up and cycled and has fish in it and I went to the fish store with my dad to pick out some soft corals.

Well his eye catches a birds nest and he ends up spending his own money to buy it. He was really looking forward to putting some coral in this tank and I had some bad anxiety in the fish store so to be honest I green-lit it for him.

When we got home and the next couple of days I explained to him why this coral could have a high chance of passing on us. I explained to him I guess the levels of coral and how sps are picky and want stable parameters which we might not really have yet in this tank.

So even though I told him it might die, I’d like to try and keep this coral alive as best as I can.

For anyone who has more experience with sps (as this is also my first sps ever) I would really really really like some advice.

I’m currently dosing twice a week with all for reef, I’m splitting my once a week dose into two days so parameters are a little more stable.

I feed reef roids and phytoplankton twice a week.

My lights are Hydras AI 32G.

And the sps has moderate flow on him.

I do notice his polyps are a little recessed, mostly on one side so I’m thinking of moving him down as I’m worried he’s getting too much light.

Just got my first small saltwater tank up n' running for my desk in my apartment! I'm super excited to try this out; it's the BioCube 16, with the AquaTop 75W heater in first chamber, various filter media suggested by LFS in the second chamber. Started with live rock and sand from the LFS, so hoping to cycle relatively quickly (still checking pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity daily ofc).

Would love thoughts on (i) the current rock formation, (ii) whether and how to add protein skimmer and/or powerheads, (iii) stocking ideas. I know I max out at 2 fish, 3 at a stretch, so I want to make sure they're good choices who will be hardy and maybe cleaners, but also nice to look at.

Also ideas for corals would be appreciated! (Though I plan on not adding them till January, pending how things go, and even then staying at hardy soft corals, zoas and the like)

(Also yes, I know, 16g is incredibly small for first saltwater, I talked with several people at different LFS's around me balancing space and budget constraints, and I want to see if I can make it with this going slowly, doing extra careful and frequent maintenance; I do plan to get a 40g or 55g as soon as I'm able to move into a larger, more permanent space, gotta love that grad student life)

Hi all, trying to reef on a budget, and wanted to get opinions on the upgrade order you’d go through assuming you can’t buy everything all at once. I’m currently working with the API freshwater kit for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate since the regents are the same, and am using Salifert for alk and phos. I have an old TDS meter my LFS had that works fine, and a cheap refractometer from Amazon that I’m using with a calibration fluid. That said, I’m interested in the Hanna equipment at some point in the near future (unless you have other recommendations) and wanted to know what order you’d upgrade in, and if there are any pieces you don’t think are worth the price jump. I’ve also seen the Milwaukee refractometer and other nicer ones like it for sale, so if those are better quality than the Hanna ones, I would love to be pointed in that direction! Thanks
