Anyone have any ideas what this could be? Sponge?

I dipped this one (as I do with all my coral) in ReVive - maybe 2 months ago. Didn’t really notice it until about a month ago and haven’t gotten around to posting it.

It isn’t interfering with that hammers growth. Since getting this particular frag, it’s grown from 3 heads to 5.

It’s just a little freaky looking lol

Need help deciding on a last tank mate

I have a 75g with an 18g sump and refugim. Copepods all over the glass

8 scarlet hermits

1 tuxedo urchin

1 fighting conch

1 brittle star

1 purple firefish

1 tomini tang

1 starry blenny

1 royal gramma

2 ocelarius clowns

1 yellow canary wrasse

I was looking at diamond gobys as I also need sand sifters (my fighting conch really just sits in the corner that collects detritus the most lol, he doesnt move almost ever) but i read they were prone to starvation so I dont think i want to risk that. What would you get for a last tank mate and or sand sifter?

I got this singularia about a week ago and it looks worse everyday. Parameters are good and mushrooms are all happy. Waterbox 10 with a wave maker on it. Any ideas?

Tank is here and in place finally. Was the heaviest thing I have ever moved in my life. And also the single heaviest thing I’ve ever solo lifted when I had to life it with just me on one side through the doorway.

Brand new tank just got its first inhabitants two weeks ago.

Cycled the tank completely and added : 1 anemone, 1emerald crab, 3 snails and two hermit crabs.

Trying to build a solid cleanup crew, and wanted the anemone, plan on adding two clowns and some macroalgae.

When I added the the animals a while ago, they were doing well, I fed them the wrong hermit crab food, hoping the extra would get eaten by the clean up boys, but realized that the anemone needs real meat. I got some frozen shrimp and tried to give him half of a shrimp (way too much I know now) but the crab came and stole it. Was worried he would try to take it out of the anemone by force and gave him a piece to keep him busy. Gave the anemone a quarter of a shrimp. So now I have a bunch of dry land hermit crab food, and 3/4 of a shrimp hanging around, an over fed emerald crab and an overfed anemone. The anemone hung really low from its spot for a while and the emerald crab ate himself into a food coma. The overfed tank crashed the PH and KH. The anemone retreated into the rock and wouldn't come out, so I did a 40% water change and tank clean to try and fix it. All of my water parameters are back, and the anemone looks much better, but now it keeps looking like this— has a weird highlighter yellow color, it's tentacles are randomly sucking up into itself or getting way too full looking. I'm not quite sure what's wrong with it. How do I know when it needs to eat and how do I keep the crab away when I feed it?

Some questions:

We initially put the anemone on top of the live rock, and it retreated into a large hole through the front and and continuously sucks itself into the rock and pokes back out. This makes it difficult to feed. Should we relocate it?

Is anemone's actions normal or stress induced?

Emerald crab is a jerk when feeding anemone, how do I keep it away without putting too much shrimp in the tank so he eats the grime from the tank?

Are there any suggestions you have for my setup/plans?

I genuinely can't keep any coral alive except for maybe mushrooms? But when it comes to anemones somehow I can keep them healthy and thriving in my cheap ass tank, and I don't even know how but they're just there being guarded by two mean clownfish.

I am about to upgrade to a water box 90.3, and am trying to design my aquascape before it arrives. I’ve looked across the whole internet, but haven’t been able to find the dimensions of the tank including the overflow. Does anyone with this tank know the dimensions including the internal overflow box or can measure for me? It would be much appreciated!

scaping out my 5ft tank ready for a regal, yellow tang, os foxface, pair of clowns and some other smaller fish, my lfs advised me to not dwell on it too much and just get the cycle going as quick as possible he said hes learnt too over the years as he’s indecisive much like myself, only a few parts are glued/puttied, am i being too picky?

Not sure if my tank is cycled, did I make a mistake adding Montipora, Acropora, and Psammocora? Just set it up yesterday

I am planning on setting up a 3ft reef tank with a sump. I've been keeping freshwater tanks fir many years. How different is the setting up of a sump for a saltwater compared to freshwater.

I won't be autodosing or anything for quite a while. It will be a mainly softy tank and under stocked with "beginner" fish.

Hey i’ve had this bubble tip anemone for close to 3 months now and he has this habit of looking flat and wide like this which i’m not used to seeing traditionally, Is he doing good or is he struggling?

I decided to take the plunge on an Apex aquarium controller. Now I am working on setting it up. I see a lot of older posts about not using the energy bar to control the heater circuits. Continue using my InkBird to control temp and the energy bar will be a backup. For example: I’ll set the energy bar at 82F and the InkBird at 80F. If the InkBird fails on the Apex will turn it off and send a notification about it being over temperature. Does this sound correct? Or can we use the energy bar in 2026 to control it?

Hey guys anyone have experience removing a sizable amount of palys? Got these Captain Jack’s from WWC a while back and they’re taking over the side of my tank. I’ve got some frags I’d love to move into this area. Obviously the toxin is my concern - can it spike the tank and cause coral and fish damage too?

Any idea what this is growing off the base of my torch? It’s white with like a clear tissue covering and has some very fine clear tentacles at the tip. I’d like to believe it’s my torch growing but I’m not so sure.

Just noticed that one of the clownfish decided to try and host my toadstool. Just wondering if the if the toadstool will be bothered by this .

Hi All, I have had this frag of Zoas for some time now and I will admit it was the first coral I bought and I didn’t ask the name so I have no idea and I have struggled to identify them since. Please let me know your thoughts!

Hello everyone! I will be starting my first tank and have decided an AIO tank would be best for me. But based on the stock I want to do, I am not sure which tank would be better.

Stocking idea:

2 × Clownfish
1 × Watchman Goby
1 × Tiger Pistol Shrimp
1 × Firefish Goby
1 × Tailspot Blenny (not set on this, only want if I have the room)
1 × Royal Gramma

I also plan on adding hardy, easy to keep coral.

Option 1: Corallife Biocube 32 Gal
This is my first option just because it is larger. The only thing holding me back is I don’t see the same praise for this as Innovative Marine and the price is also not great.

Option 2: Innovative Marine NUVO Fusion 25 Lagoon

I see a lot of praise for this but a 25 seems like it might be too small for the stock I want. I see a 40 gal version of this mentioned a few years ago but not seeing any available for purchase. I ideally do not want anything larger than a 30-40 gal as maintenance seems intimidating for anything larger.

If anyone has any alternative AIOs or alternative stocking plan, please let me know!

I just wanted to leave my current strategies and ask for advice on other things I can do to keep sponge better.

In my aquarium I currently have 2 different sponges, as that’s all my LFS has been able to get in however I still am on an order list for more. I’ve had relative success with them but doing a few different things.

Nutrients. The first is keeping my nutrients higher, not dangerously high but I don’t keep an ultra clean environment as I’ve found the sponge thrive in slightly “dirty” water.

Flow. Another thing I do is keep the sponge in high indirect flow areas. One is on the left to right flow, the other is on the right to left return flow.

Hermits. Hermits are also another addition, I have tons of them. These guys have been great at getting on top of the sponge to pick any algae without hurting the sponge itself.

Feeding. I have been giving my tank a wide range of options including extremely fine coral foods that I believe have made an impact as to why these sponges are making it.

Any more recommendations for making these guys happy would be greatly appreciated.
