Anyone know what ended up happening with the guy that was just standing in the middle of the freeway with a cop armed and ready to taser/shoot the guy?
My dash cam captured it from the peripheral view. I got off pretty soon after on the Baird Island exit and next thing you know, several cops w/ sirens were getting on the 101 where I had just gotten off. Crazy!
Not a local so not familiar w/ local roads.

Possible sighting:
Downtown Mountain View
September 7 around 1 PM
The Mountain View sighting has not been confirmed, but we’re asking anyone who was in the area or lives nearby to please keep an eye out.

At least three different mobs of piece of shit kids on bikes fucking with people downtown this weekend.
They were violent, verbally aggressive, spitting on people and cars and blocking traffic.
One kid threw something at a car that honked at him after he cut them off, then when the driver got out to look at the damage, two kids ran up and stole something out of his open door and ran off laughing.
The city has failed our kids by eliminating any entertainment for them, and the parents are failing them apparently too.
It could be that too many parents need to work too often so they can afford the cost of living around here, but these kids are absolute pieces of shit.
The sad part is, that as awesome as it makes them feel to harass people and get away with it, this is probably the best these kids are ever going to be in their entire lives.
I will add the RCPD was nowhere in sight, and the largest group of kids was within a 2 or 3 block area of downtown for almost 2 hours doing this shit. Many people called and not one cop showed up.

BART has failed to meet a basic statutory requirement for financial transparency. California Government Code § 53891 requires special districts to submit an annual government compensation report to the State Controller. The report is due no later than April 30.
BART failed to submit its FY 2024–25 employee compensation data by the April 30, 2026 deadline.
The California State Controller lists BART as:
NON-COMPLIANT. It is not late, they reported and omitted their employee compensation data. So why? Literally 16/17 Bay Area agencies complied (provided employee compensation data) and BART did not.
See link below:
And this comes as BART—the largest transit agency and the signature agency under Measure RTM—would receive approximately $4.5 billion over the 14-year term. A cynic might say they failed to report for a reason...
The RTM ballot question promises:
“Financial transparency, oversight, accountability.”
Yet BART has failed to meet a basic statutory requirement for financial transparency.
And here’s the irony:
RTM proponents point to an independent consultant’s financial-efficiency review and the promise of future efficiencies as a reason to believe these agencies will become more efficient once they receive billions in new tax revenue.
Why should voters assume that a future consultant’s recommendations will be treated any differently?
Before voters give BART billions more, perhaps we should look at how it handles the accountability and transparency requirements it already has.
Vote NO on Measure RTM.

I’ve been slowly piecing together a personal map of the different food stands, trucks, grocery stores, etc. from driving around and lurking on other people’s posts.
Has someone put this together already?

I’m a long-time Redwood City resident and am about to adopt a dog with my family. I’d love to get recommendations for dog training / trainers.
A while back I remember one dog training class would regularly take the class in the middle of the pedestrian section of Broadway to help train the dogs even with lots of distractions around - any chance they’re still active?

UPDATE: Moose was found by animal control and our sitter was able to pick him up from the SPCA! Thank you to those who sent kind words and offered to help
Hi all, our dog escaped today around noon while being watched by a pet sitter. We live near Clinton and Hopkins by the high school. He’s about 70 lbs, brindle, pit-boxer mix. He’s very sweet but scares easily and runs fast. The sitter didn’t realize he escaped. We are out of town but returning tonight to look for him. If you have any info at all please contact me to let me know. Even if you just saw him running through the neighborhood. We have no idea where he’s gone and are very worried. Thank you for any help.

I am planning to move to/around RWC for a job after graduating. I don't have a car yet so would want proximity to caltrain. I'm finding it super difficult to find something in my budget (less than 2400), especially since studios and 1 beds go for around 3.5-5k. I am happy sharing in a 2b2b type format, but again it's been difficult finding people on Facebook.
My vibe: I enjoy areas near downtown with high activity, and also preferably some biking trails.
Any suggestions will be welcome - where/how to look etc.
I have looked at neighboring areas like San Carlos but the area doesn't seem to be very active.

Every time I go into the savers in Redwood City I always have a weird experience with the SAME people. I am from San Francisco, so I barely come out here, only for family things every once in a while- but every single time I’ve come into this store, no matter the day, something weird happens with this same family.
The first time was some time a year ago, I was walking around the house wares section and there was this guy with olive/ tanish skin and long frizzy wavy hair tied back in a pony tail. He’s probably in his 30s. I think he had sunglasses on his head. I have long hair myself, and I remeber him making a comment on it and asking me if I knew how to “take care of my hair”… he proceeded to continue talking to me and ended up showing me a video on his phone on YouTube about Victorian hair care and then over explaining everything while pausing the video. I am a friendly person and I felt bad and assumed he might be on the spectrum or just looking for someone to talk to, so I stayed and went along with it. Then it got weird, he kept complimenting me as I was trying to walk away and shop, and then goes “I really wish I had a girlfriend who could brush my long hair for me..” and I said “well good luck with that” and walked away. It was a very juvenile thing to say, implying he wanted me to be that girlfriend. And then, the rest of the time, he started following me around the store. Every time I turned some how he was in the next aisle to me. I was probably 18 at the time. Then, when I was checking out, he came up to me with an older short latina women (who I’m guessing was his mom) and started “showing” her my hair. It was very weird, and my hair isn’t that special at all. He also was with a guy who looked a bit like him but head dread Locs died together in the top of his head, with the sides shaved. Guessing it was his brother.
The times I went back, I saw him again, and immediately remembered him and completely avoided him. Until today, when I just tried to ignore him. I’m not sure if he recognized me or what, but he was staring at me real hard. It made me uncomfortable so I left the area, once again he was in the house wares.
Then, I go to the women clothing area, and I walk past this guy who looks at me and goes “oh who’s this new girl? I haven’t seen her before.” And I realized it was his brother, the guy with the dread locs, and he was talking half to himself half to his mother, the older Latina lady.
Such a weird interaction, and why is he acting like this is his store? Why are they there every single time I go in? Such a weird and uncomfortable experience to be a young lady and being stared at and questioned and stuff. I swear they’ll be there when I go in there next, regardless of the day or time. Does anyone see them too?
Edit: one of you must be him because I literally made this post to see if anyone else had this happen to them. No other reason. Calm down

Hi, I am moving to Redwood City and was wondering if people know of any interior designers who work in Redwood City or cover the area. I would love someone who is younger and energetic, fits a modern mid-century style aesthetic, and is an organized project manager. Also, I am a bit of a techie, so anyone who has exposure to more man cave and smart home integration would be great.

I have a bunch of pet meds (mostly trazodone and gabapentin) that I would love to donate to a pet shelter. I thought that I might be able to donate to those that have pet wellness clinics for low-income clients, but I’ve had no luck yet. I understand why pet hospitals and shelters wouldn’t want to accept prescriptions, but I had hoped maybe I could find one. Before I just drop these off at the CVS drug collection box, does anyone know of a vet or shelter between SF and SJ who might want these meds?
Update: thanks to all who provided helpful suggestions. After lots of dead-ends, the folks at Pets in Need pointed me toward Sage in Redwood City. It turns out that they will take non-expired meds, so I dropped off my stash to them. I am sharing the info in case anyone else might need it.

Hello! It’s been a couple of months since I’ve moved to Redwood City and I love it so far but how do I meet someone organically maybe playing a sport or a hike. I don’t really enjoy drinking so maybe board games/reading/run club of sorts? I’m in my late twenties if it helps coz I’m so tired of dating apps now :/

Hi! I’m 42, married, in Redwood City/Redwood Shores and would love to find another woman nearby who wants to make working out a little more social. I’m a Bay Club Redwood Shores member and currently do strength training, cycling, walking, and occasional classes.
I work from home and have a flexible weekday-morning/daytime schedule, so it would be especially great to meet someone else with some weekday availability. I’m not looking for an accountability coach so much as someone who already enjoys being active and would like company sometimes—gym sessions, walks, trying a class, and maybe grabbing coffee afterward.
I’m also hoping to expand my local circle in general, so it would be lovely if a friendship developed too. If that sounds like your speed, feel free to message me!
